My first time using the veo bike it stopped on me in the middle of the street during traffic. (unsafe as I could have gotten hit by a car) The scooter was on 44 percent before I started my ride and I only got 4 or so blocks away before it cut off on me. When I contacted customer support to get a refund for this trip they then charged me a processing fee in order to get the refund . Terrible experience!
What fun! The app is easy to use and the vehicle is a lot of fun to ride on. I would have liked a mirror on the vehicle, and the "go" button takes some getting used to, it is quite difficult to regulate the speed with only a thumb, I found myself zooming off and slowing down all the time. I will definitely be using this more often.
They charged $10 to load into your wallet. If you have issues, it's non-refundable! Not worth the hassle! Found a vehicle, started the ride but kept loading in the app. I tried to end it but I couldn't because the vehicle was in a red zone. I had to push the vehicle in a red zone to end the ride (while its alarm was going off because i was pushing it). I was never able to use another vehicle because they were all out of service. I had to go with the good ol reliable Razor!
The bikes are so much fun! The only problem I have is with the app, the headache of trying to make sure that it ends bothers me some. I'll "End all rides" but the timer just keeps counting. All the rides will stop working but that counter will just keep climbing. Making me nervous guys
Needs a valid driver's license, which is fair, but it will not scan the back of my license after scanning the front without any issue. Not using this service ever after 10 minutes of trying to scan my license with no success.
It was great I went from St Armonds to south Leto and then all the way up to moat marine fairly smooth ride but one complaint when I started my first ride I ran out of power luckily I was within walking distance of a parking station but there should be a 15 minute warning before it just says low power and shuts off. Maybe there is and I didn't hear it but maybe a notification on your phone or something else. It was great still thanks for the hour of joy.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day ruined. However, I must applaud the business model. You have a captive audience of young students. I download the app, it requires a minimum deposit of $10. High and kind of scummy but understandable ig. I then hop on an electric bike with a full battery and it doesn't work. Flat out won't move. I'm charged at least $3 for nothing. On the next bike I'm on my way back and it just stops. I had no idea I ran out of funds. Costs too much time and money.
A transit mode is worthless if it's unreliable, and it's called Veo. Service down errors on a lot of devices, those running mostly have charges below 30% with which u can't get anywhere, and they wouldn't even compensate for the cost of forced short trips. Plus, the weirdest thing; there is no scooters at some of the places explicitly marked on the map as it should, totally crazy. You won't be able to use it 75%+ of the time, and you'll find yourself losing a lot of time instead of saving any.
Great experience. smooth ride and Great product and easy to use. The only glitch I encountered with the app was the time displayed vs the time charged dubbed, however well worth it.
Great app ... Prefer to ride the bikes than mopeds since you can't ride in certain areas... I always keep 10 or so dollars ... It may be hard to find bikes in the later afternoon or early mornings. I don't like how it'll tell you there's no service in an area for one bike and there is service for the bike right next to it
Crashed every time I tried to open it on Samsung Galaxy S21, so once we got it working on another phone it charged a $10 fee. We scanned a QR code on two bikes, it approved the first then said the second was under maintenance. So we had to walk down the sidewalk pushing the one bike because it was still locked looking for a second. Once we found one we unlocked it but the bikes kept saying we were in a no bike zone and deactivated the bike, even in a bike lane and on the road.
There were so many issues with ending rides, I can't even count how many times I had to report them for refunds. The scooters would also often have broken breaks or wouldn't even go. The only good thing is that they have good customer support that gets back to you fairly quickly.
Really wanted to give it a shot, but none of the locks on 3 different scooters would unlock. They won't refund your $10 deposit when none of their scooters work. Do better, Veo
I have had back problems, so walking a lot puts my back in severe spasms. I was having to walk from hotel to the pageant venue where I do hair and makeup. I spotted the scooter and it saved my life, or at least from a rough night of spasms Thank you Veo! Larry D. Davis
Not a huge fan of having to order by 10 minimum increments vs a per ride basis. Curious to see how it preforms on the reverse of this route up hill....that will be the key seller for me like 70% or so of what I want in a scooter to own personally
It'd be great if the bikes, not the scooters, were available 24/7, like the competitor brand is in my city, as Veo bikes are faster & more comfortable. And the Veo Shop never loads for me.
Good ride. Safe features. Would love if they included a helmet. Sometimes it's hard to find a bike and I have to travel a few miles
Scooters were charged and well maintained, nice ride...even on city streets, side walks, and the expressway, easily did 35 to 40 mph! Outstanding scooter if you have to park a long distance away from your event you are attending, definitely recommend!
Not the most seamless experience, have had multiple occasions of app crashing on me. Here's a question to developers - why does the app need storage permissions when it can work just fine with camera access only?
Fast fun better on the hills in Seattle then most of the competitors!!!! My go to when I'm in the biggest hurry and need reliability...
The most unscrupulous app scooter business. They dont do "pay as you go" but takes deposits that you can either use in full or gets forfeited. The old 'gift card' trick. And even if you have $100 balance on your account, and you are in a city or country with no veo ever for next 50 years...... You still dont get your balance deposit back. They will point to fine print in contract.🙂 I will be surprised if BBB hasnt flagged them yet. 👎
Fun. Easy to ride. I just wish I didn't have to travel so far just to ride it. I use it for work which is 4 miles away from me. I would drive but gas is way to high. So I use mass transit. If they can extend this to the HUB it would be wonderful.
Try it. It's fun and incredibly useful. It's cheaper than Uber, if the weather is nice. I seriously recommend riding with a helmet, you might be a good rider... but not everyone is a good driver.
Love the service been riding for around a year. I was overjoyed after moving from NJ - FL & finding VEO locally. Don't really care for the Rate per minute here versus the rate per mile in NJ.
Loved the ride, only wish I knew to take a photo to end the ride, before I had started it. There are also issues with the app and set up which u can read in other reviews
Designated parking areas are fine but unexpected. The bikes are awesome. Fares are getting pretty reasonable.
Great app the scooters are far better than the Uber ones. I do wish tho that rather than having to deposit money to ride that it could pull directly from my debit card. Or at least you could deposit any chosen amount rather than only increments of 10. Itd be very helpful personally cuz I use the scooters to get to and from work and sometimes i dont have but a few bucks to do it so at times I'm forced to use the uber ones cuz i csnt afford to deposit 10$ at a time.. which causes you to lose out.
