Each time a generate preview is used, the app writes a single pdf to its internal sandbox folder. Fine. But, the default device pdf reader opens to read the file and write a new pdf somewhere (in my case to the download folder), causing multiple pdf's with the same name. Mostly just annoying. There may be a user side solution. I haven't found it.

Excellent editor! I complained about not having Biber support and the developer answered immediately pointing me to the settings which I confused with the preference in the editor view. Perhaps add a link to the global settings in there? Anyways, thanks so much! :)

Very good! Thank you so much, it helps me to make my project in my mobile. Those who don't have laptop, personal pc , can use this app in mobile to make their projects.

Thanks for your reply! I've bought and downloaded your Pro version, and meanwhile updated my rating for the free version. __ Good, but I'm not going to use it as I'd like the app to sync my files with Dropbox (or OneDrive). That way the content is stored in my Cloud spaces. Then it's also under my control in one place, e.g. as local files on my PC.

Difficult to use. Guides on internet wrong - doesn't allow set local directory. Only allowed Box or DropBox sync (not Drive on an Android device??). Allowed me to add existing files to project, but instead of modifying the files where they were, made a copy to edit, so I had a big panic when didnt see my latest MASSIVE AMOUNTS of changes. Why? Also didn't recognise existing LaTeX files (extension .tex). Was easier in the end to just download a File Manager app and opened and edit it in that app.

Great app, very convenient in that I do not have to configure anything to set up my projects, easy to use the UI and UX are good. Still struggling when I want to inlcude files like .pdf, .png etc. (e.g. \includegraphics[]{file.ext}). On the website it says I should use the SDcard path but I do not have an SDcard. When I try to inlcude files using /Internal storage/android/data/verbosus.verbtex/files/local/[project]/file.ext it raises an error saying the file could not be found. Any suggestions?

thank you for making this available. I'm tempted to go for the beta version however not sure what extras to expect. one annoying thing is the difficulty in loading a .tex file from different directories. also, clicking a .tex adnroid doesn't seem to detect this app and open the file straightaway. nevertheless, great app, thank you again and hope you can make it more like a pc experience.

It takes ages to get your projects inn when connecting to dropbox. If you already have several projects you will only be able to access two of them. This is a problem since you can't specify witch project that is. Example: I have 8 projects in overleaf. They are being synced with dropbox. I need the ability to edit one of them on my phone. You can't specify witch folder, so I can now edit something I don't need, while being lock away from the one I need. Utterly useless for my use case.

i love this app! My only complaint is that when I view my code as a PDF on my chromebook it takes me to a separate window on my browser to show the PDF. On my ipad pro this app doesn't do that, it directly opens the PDF from the app. If there's any way to fix that I'd be very happy! edit: your split screen advice worked perfectly, thank you! I noticed one more thing, though. Do you have any advice to make the app generate a new pdf to the same browser tab? Because mine generates every new update to a new, separate tab.

Its exceptionally good, just cant open another tex file with this app. If u work on that, i will be fine

Ugly interface. mobile screens are small, mobile interfaces should be lite and sleek. in VerbTeX the top and bottom bars occupy about 20 percent of the screen. hide these bars, put a Floating Button for the main action, a 3-dot menu at the corner, that's it. this is simple and easy to do. if it's time cosuming for you, i can do it for you at no cost. i'm a developer, check out "TEXT Pro" (sift.tex) app to see what i mean by modern, lite interface.

Amazing experience. Never thought I could do LaTeX projects in my mobile this easily. This app opened a door to my office from my mobile. But there is no auto completion. I thought bib files can't be edited in this app but a prompt reply from the developer told me it can be easily done. Also the reply told that the code completion is available in the pro version. I've immediately bought it. but I think it doesn't worth it. Code completion is only first level.

Overall a very solid app. I can work on my projects anywhere and I don't have to worry about installing packages anymore. However, there are some features I'd like to see in the future like a replacement function, autocomplete, add biblatex support, jump to part in the pdf that's selected in the source code and vice versa and lualatex support. Add that and I'll give you 5/5. 👍🏻

the app is good. everything was fine untill i now have to pay. the app wouldn't allow me to access my locally saved project unless i pay the money and upgrade to pro. is it by force?

AL. L. Sep 27, 2019

The editor itself is nice but hardly usable with existing projects because it does not allow to open external directories or save files out of the application directory, which is assumed to be a part of the basic functionality. The default path can be set only for all projects at once and in a not user-friendly way.

Surprisingly well put together for a mobile app! It's fast functioning, and easy enough to use/navigate. The only drawbacks are a few bugs with syntax highlighting, and a lack of in-app documentation or auto-fill suggestions for package & command phrases. Over all, it's the best LaTeX app I've found!

Tried to open a file stored on my phone but that's not possible in this app. It only allows you to create new files and start from scratch. It's strange that the developers didn't think someone may want to work on some file they already have or received from someone else. Edit: updated my review after reading the response from the developer. However, I still think the process is too complicated. Isn't it possible to have an "open" option in the menu?

Hey I feel bad. Didn't mean to leave so few stars originally. It was just a small bug with the registration ui that annoyed me. The app itself is quite excellent. Thanks for having created and continuing to maintain it

If you use LatEX a lot and wanted to access your files and compile them then this is for you. Excellent editor with lovely text colours to help you type and identify text and math mode. The compiler is very fast and output displayed on pdf. Compiling errors are nicely shown on log book and easily accessed. Highly recommended.

It's worked good in starting.really that made me happy.but since from yesterday PDF didn't generating. I'm so dissapointed. Everyone time it shows no internet connection available. All other apps are working smoothly. But when it comes to verbtex app speed of network decrease.

Ale. A. Jan 24, 2020

Here I was thinking a fully mobile LaTeX workstation would be a mess, but this app SHHHHHLAPS. Clean interface, no issues with the LaTeX code, and y'all got color coded text :) My only complaint is the generated PDF that you have to save every time you run the code. At least those files are easy to delete!

This is by far the best tex editor in android that i have used......but recently I am unable to see my project folder in my device storage (local mode). WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? I can make project files and they seems to be saved but I cannot find them outside the application. There is also no option to import exter.nal projects in this app. Also, I reinstalled the app and removed my previous project amd added my 1st project on fresh install but still I cant see the files in my device

Kir. L. Apr 24, 2019

Wanted to create a pdf out of latex code, but the app just kept showing that there was a meteork error despite having full bars and being clearly able to access the internet. Used Overleaf in the end -- went smoothly there.

Raj. M. Aug 25, 2021

I tried this app. This app is the best app for creating latex documents on your android phone . But only problem is the saved files files will not appear outside these app. There is no option for importing files .

great app for the purpose of TeXing—or rather typing equations for students—on a smartphone or when not being in the office! ideas for improvement: saving should go along with compiling! compiling should also work when being offline, which is not tha case!

I was opening the app to pick up where I left off yesterday and I figured that it was time to update my review from last year. I began the previous review with, "I LOVE THIS APP!" & it's still very much the case even now. This app is excellent! It is far better than the well-known online Editor named after a tree part. This is the best and easily on par with the PC Editors like TeXmaker, TeXstudio, or even MS's VisualStudioCode, or Sublime, Vim or Emacs! This is THE LaTeX app for Android.

Mil. B. Oct 20, 2020

When you generate a .pdf, it is no longer saved anywhere on your device. I assume this is because of an android software update, but it's deeply inconvenient.

328. U. May 19, 2022

Overall good ..... just 1 problem is to see the output you have to generate pdf first ...... it will be more fantastic if we can see our output without generating the pdf .... that is ...we can simultaneously see the output as we write codes. Otherwise all good..... 👍😊

Great app with very useful features for Tablets. It would be good if an "&" symbol would be included in the key toolbar for tables, but otherwise perfect!
