This app replaced another online banking tool. The previous one worked just fine. There were pages and pages of policy to read before this app would install, and no way of knowing how far I had read. After that ordeal, a teller let me know it was actually the same TOS that I had already agreed to previously. Nothing new has been added, and many of the things that used to work now don't. Also, my accounting software is locked out now, which is extremely inconvenient. Just an awful app.
The app worked perfectly until they updated a whole new user interface for digital banking and it hasn't been smooth. I can't transfer to make payments. I don't get text messages anymore. It takes more clicks to get where you want than before. I can't use the chat feature anymore. The keyboard blocks the button to submit. The programmers hired to do this did a terrible job of testing on various phones. Even the teller at the bank was surprised it was this bad and is telling the dept to fix it!
It worked ok at the beginning, even though it's slower than the old online tool. And then towards the end of Jan, it just stopped updating my transactions...it just shows them as pending, but keeps current balance. So, I cannot set any categories or much of anything for these "new" transactions. Verity app developers need to debug this app to be faster & more user-friendly!
Verity (and BECU) credit unions, here in Seattle, provide exceptional customer service, and user friendly mobile banking! I've permanently cut the cord from large financial institutions- the perks are numerous- free checking, free atms at all 7-11s, plus reimbursement for 6 random ATM fees/mo, low interest rates, free notary etc! Verity, you've taken the time to get to know us. In person, on the phone & through the app. And that's something you just can't buy- it's so appreciated! thank you
I tried to change my address one time, and would keep getting the same error message. I used the customer service chatbot in the app to talk to an agent directly, who then told me to send a message to customer service using a different method in the app because I couldn't change my address using the chatbot. I eventually received a message from customer service saying that I should use the app to change my address, so I hope this review helps them realize this issue exists so that they fix it.
Update Aug 2020: Mobile check deposit fixed. Works great! Thanks! Prior Review : Won't allow mobile check deposit using Samsung Galaxy S10. Cleared cache & uninstalled & reinstalled app multiple times to no avail. Takes fuzzy picture of front, but clear pic of back, even though both sides appear crystal clear when I take pic. I'm using high contrast background & bright light. Get "RDC Unavailable" error saying image can't be read. I love VCU & depend on mobile deposit. PLEASE FIX THIS APP!!!
The new app is an unmitigated abomination. The UI is garbage. It's unintuitive. It's clunky. It's a giant step backwards. I'm actually tempted to close all my accounts and go elsewhere. SO disappointed.
What a downgrade from the last app. Very slow to load, if it will even load different tabs. Clunky, and all around horrible. Please roll back to the old system.
Update. I still feel the same way. New version of the App is like using a web browser. Buggy and info does not fit the screen. We went back 5 years with this "upgrade".
Overall works ok, but it's been years, and the app doesn't have the option to exit. You simply just can't exit normally, like any other app, besides forced...
I have to enter my pw twice (WHY?) with no option to see what I've typed, I am asked security questions I've never answered, and, I CANNOT GET INTO MY CREDIT CARD TO MAKE A PAYMENT. last month I had to call the CU to make my Visa pmt and the notation on my acct simply said "withdrawal" with absolutely no reference that it was credited to my credit card. With all the negative comments on this thread I am really surprised there are no responses from Verity regarding this problem. THIS APP SUX.
Terrible app, never loads and is super slow. It's been bad how as long as I've been a member and I am fed up and seriously thinking of switching banks. It's gotten that bad.
We love the Verity app. We moved out of Washington 3 years ago and the app has allowed us to still do our banking with Verity. We did not have to close any accounts or open new ones. It is a wonderful app.
It's hard to scroll through transmission because the options keep popping up and you have to start scrolling from the top down again.
I liked the old app better. The updated app is WAY slower and doesn't load my transactions half the time. Also doesn't have the "instant balance" feature. Don't fix something if it isn't broken people. 👎🏻
Maybe I'm just not getting it, but this new update is harder to navigate. I've had to just go onto the computer most of the time to avoid such a run around to pay my credit card. After my card is paid off, I am going to go to BECU.
Verity App is safe and secure and user friendly. It has features that one would make within the bank. Credit score is available. Banks one uses can be added on as well as auto loans. 💕 When COVID-19 is over I highly tecommend going into Verity Credit Union across from Alderwood Mall. Staff is beyond customer service expectations💕 Giving back to the community is important to Verity Credit Union. Shows how caring they really are.💕
Redundant prompts, not easy to find pending bill payments, doesn't show balance after scheduling bill payment while payments are pending, can't find the "add to home screen" feature
The camera for making deposits is not properly oriented to the phone. The image is difficult to see and effectively capture the check. Horrible upgrade
Linked accounts continuously ask for an updated password, read messages show notifications as having unread status when reopening the app, and a clunky outdated UI make this app dreadful.
This interface is far inferior to the previous. Difficult to use, non-intuitive, clunky.
This new app is awful compared to the previous online banking app. Terrible to navigate, slow to load, and full of pointless features.
Take the chat button off or allow the user to move it--it's blocking my ability to deposit checks!!! Also, it won't let me access the chat to put my name in--keyboard flashes and then disappears! HALP
There's nothing there as far as my accounts go? I can't access anything, I cant see my balances, I cant get get a hold of anybody. The "Chat" feature isn't helping at all. What is going on with this new digital bs?
Like everything else at Verity, they just keep getting it better. This app allows me to easily monitor my money and credit score
I love Verity! I left and came back! Their call in Customer service is awesome! Since things have been shut down this app is awesome as well! Thank you Folks!
Very easy to use. I must admit that I had to call to get help with credit card payments periodically. Update on 4/5/21:. I've been using all parts of this app now. Very easy to use. I love it.
Don't like that I can't enter pending payments on the app like before. That helped me so much when I only have so much money in my account.
Great bank and the app does exactly what I need it to do. Check my balance and deposit checks from my phone. 👍👍
It's a little clinical, and has some redundancies, and buttons and menus that could be bigger for those of us with ham-thumbs. The money transfer system is still their old one from the website, which I find clunk, feels like it could be easier to find and more streamlined. But the overall experience is solid and consistent.
