Verizon Messages

I've used this messaging app for several years. Lately, it hasn't been working. Messages failing to send, messages re-ordering themselves, and the latest - completely not working. I can see there are messages from friends, but when I click into a text, it won't load the messages between me and my friend and I can't send texts. So for now, I do not have texting available on my phone and it's unclear why. I tried shutting off my phone and restarting it but that didn't work.

This app is not reliable. Messages change the order in which they were sent and received, messages don't send until you restart your device, messages arrive hours after sending them, lots of issues. This is a common theme with Verizon apps. They are unreliable and a hassle to use. Very frustrating from a huge company like Verizon. If it wasn't my wife's preferred messaging app for us to use, I would NOT use it. Do yourself a favor and download a messaging app that functions the way out should.

I have used this app for years and never had an issue till lately. The app frequently closes itself and gives an error message. "Something went wrong". Sometimes the voice to text functions, sometimes not. I have tried reinstalling the app. Rebooted phone. Problem still occurs. I really hope it is fixed soon.

I have loved this app for years, but recently, it's been sending and receiving messages out of sequence. I'm getting notifications for a new message, but it's simply a message I'd already received coming throygh again. When I try to send attachments, my contacts are no longer listed by name. I've already sent a report, but I'm sure the little automatic message will still pop up on my review.

I have been using message+ for several years and prefer this app over others. I recently upgraded my phone and have been having issues ever since. The biggest problem is no notification sound or light. I've checked all of the settings, restarted and uninstalled and reinstalled the update several times, but nothing has fixed the problem. I've also had issues with multiple messages being sent or messages not arriving in real time. I'm forced to use another app, I hope this can be fixed soon.

Used to be great. Been using this app for years. But over the past 2 years we have consistent issues with messages going through in a timely fashion. This isn't a network or phone problem since the pre-installed message app simply doesn't have the same problems. I still like a lot if the features, it just doesn't work well enough.

The only good thing I like about this app, over others, is it sends the videos better. You can only pin 8 contacts and I would like more. Now the app has started sending random texts to my contacts and doesn't show up on my phone that I sent them. UPDATE: To the developer, I did send info and never received a reply. On the up side, it stopped sending random texts.

Was great, now less than sub par. I've had a few stray messages go to the wrong people. Which can be devastating. But that was like a 2 mo period years ago. But I upgraded my phone and now scheduling texts to be delivered at a desired time is no longer an option. So.... I might scrap this app. That is one of the most useful features.

Update: So I previously stated in my last review below my text messages aren't sending when I need them to send. My messages are stuck on "sending" unless I restart my phone and I shouldn't have to do that. I talked to the IT guys in January, since they thought it was a bug and nothing got fix. Very upsetting. would try to send a message, and it will stay in sending status forever or just send in the middle of the day, leaving people confused as to what I am talking about.

I've been using this app for years. The best messaging app I've ever used. After updating it last year it's had a few bugs. The notifications haven't been peeking down or popping up at all while I'm using it. I can set it person by person to pop up notifications but that's too much work. And I'm not able to send videos to anyone unless they have the same app then im able to send part of video. Can these bugs please be fixed and then it's a great app.

Used to really like this app, but over the last year I've had issues with it sending random messages to random people every time my phone is restarted! Which is usually the middle of the night. It had sent messages to clients at 2am! Which makes me look completely unprofessional, and I'm constantly apologizing to people for fantom messages. I can't even see that they're sent, it's only the other person who receives them. I've put in a complaint to tech multiple times, but no resolution yet!

I've had this for years and it seems that every update it is getting worse. In group messages, I'm only person who misses some texts entirely. What's also really bad is the way that media sends and receives. If I send a picture or video to someone who doesn't have Message+, they receive a low resolution/tiny version of it, and viceversa. Of course, Message+ "asks" if you want to send a high resolution, but sends your recipient an advertisement to "download Message+". I'm over it!

I will receive voice messages often instead of tone reminders. I have turned down text to spech- not help. The voice messages can be about sensitive material, are very annoying and everyone can hear them. The alternative is to shut it all off then you will not know if you have a message. Why can't you have an option of voice, tone or both. Stupid.

Various issues all the time. People I text will often receive duplicate messages. I've noticed that texts which were possibly stuck "Sending" (I assume) will send after I restart my phone which could be days later resulting in my contacts receiving random messages from me long after I sent them. This app is the number one source for draining battery life.

I've been a Verizon customer for 16 years and I have never given any bad reviews for their products, but Messages has become an app that is a huge disappointment. It's now very common for messages to not send/receive or send/receive hours or DAYS later! Messages are regularly in out-of-order sequence, and this can cause problems! I'm a full time gigworker and I rely on my phone for my income. Customers getting delayed or mis-sequenced messages can impact my income. I'm VERY disappointed.

The UI is horrendous and you can't adjust the length of the notification vibration, which is incredibly intense and long. I was only using it since Verizon blocks Samsung Calls and Message sync between your phone and tablet. If they are going to force us to use this to get the normal functionality out of our devices, they should at least make it decent.

I've had this app for years. But now it's not performing as it should. When I try to share something and go to choose a name from my Contacts, my options only appear as numbers. And when I type in a KNOWN saved contacts name, the app says it's not a valid recipient! That's frustrating along with annoying seeing as though I don't have numbers from my contact memorized! They should appear as saved contacts to choose from! Fix this pls!

So I LOVE this app but there is something wrong with it. I think I need tech support. I'm in a group chat and the messages don't show but the notifications do. They are in fact correct notifications but the message doesn't show. I tried everything including restarting my phone and updating the app. Nothing works.

I'm unable to send texts through this app. I tried calling Verizon customer support, and all they had was the automated service. Switched back to the message app that came with my phone, and it worked fine, so I know it's this specific app. Fix it, and I'll be back, but not being able to text us a no go from this busy person!

UPDATE 4/22: Hello darkness, my old friend. Same issues, different year. Messages disappearing, phantom messages, etc Verizon wanted me to install a "debugging" app. No. 8/20The latest update ruined the app, from aesthetics to functionality. I don't care to get into specifics. I had to uninstall updates, roll it all back, and at least it is better for now. Turned off auto updates. I've used the app for 8 years and loved it until the update a few days ago. Messages stuck in send is a huge issue.

I've used this app for years and loved it. All of the sudden, my # of new messages does not appear on the red message icon!! I've tried changing every setting to get it back so I dont know if its a bug or update or?? I really miss seeing if I have new messages without having to open app or drag top pull down menu. Please fix this ! Or ill prob go to default messaging app on my phone:(

It used to be a really great app. But whatever they changed notifications are not dependable anymore they don't keep the same custom tones that you set for each individual and sometimes you don't even get the notification. Time to look for something different whatever they change took a really good app and made it very unreliable

My phone sent a message this morning to the wrong group chat. I show no record that it did that. On my phone it shows in the correct chat. I only know it sent to the wrong chat bc my daughter was in both groups. This could be catastrophic with the wrong content. It also sent it twice. Not the first time it sends multiple times. One time it sent a photo 14 times. Horrible. I've deleted it. Awful.

EDIT FOR DEVS: I ALREADY SENT SUPPORT AN EMAIL A WEEK AGO... AND THAT'S THE MOST RECENT ONE. I NEVER RECEIVE ANY ACKNOWLEDGMENT BUT FURTHER BUGS. Randomly clears text notifications with the message "Temporary background processing". Sometimes clears them as I'm trying to read them in the notification bar. Unable to send text messages to new numbers like radio station promotions, for some reason. Has been happening for as long as I've used Message+

This app used to be great. But now, after sending messages, it will show "delivered". Then, like an hr later, it will show my message "delivered", but at a different time and not in original sequence. Also, Another person's message that was delivered to me hrs ago, will also somehow randomly move down to the most recent message. I've cleared the cache/data, Uninstalled, reinstalled, and it keeps doing the same thing. Whatever new things they're doing with this app aren't helpful!

I love this messaging app, I have used it for a very long time and I have no issues. However, I'm trying to set it up on another device but everytime it asks for camera permisson, in which my device has a camera, I grant access so it can scan the QR code, in which for whatever reason it's now required for setup even though it wasn't. When I grant the access for the QR code the app just crashes. Now I can't even open the app because it just crashes on startup. I would give it 5 stars otherwise.
