I read a lot of the reviews and have a few comments from my own experience. I use a Samsung/Android phone and the app connects to the scale when the scale turns on with no problems, BUT you will not see the scale in your bluetooth connections. No big deal. People complaining about having to always log in, you don't have to do this if you selected "disagree" to the terms/conditions for data use because your data will only be stored locally, and not synced to the cloud. Bad software, but ok.

This scale or app, can't tell which, is completely frustrating. It's been taking more than a half an hour every day just to try and get a reading. I've tried dozens of things; moving the scale, clearing my cache, rebooting the app and my phone, wetting my feet, wiping down the scale, removing and adding the scale back to the app and every flipping morning I need to weigh myself 12-15 times to finally get a full reading. Of course I have to wait for both the scale and app to clear before i can go

9/2019 Update: Worst app ever. Scale's OK but without the app just a plain old digital scale. I see an app called VeSync that says it syncs all your devices but it doesn't include mine. Couldn't be more disgusted with this app and etekcity. Original review (date?) How can this app still be so terrible? So few useful features, difficult to find and use what there is. I absolutely love my scale, but the app is almost unusable and doesn't seem to ever be updated.

I never had problems with the weight/app. If you want a nice way to log your weight, you are in the correct place 5/5 BUT the rest of the data the app provides are completely wrong & useless. I can understand that measuring such values will be something more than approximate, however, your algorithms fail to catch a trend let alone approximate the real value... Measuring weight: 5/5 All other stats: 0/5 (Completely wrong, you shouldn't even show them, gimmick)

The app shows I lost 0.89 kg in weight, which is nonsensical as the resolution of the scales is 0.1 kg, so any weight gain or loss should be an integer multiple of 0.1 kg. Syncing via Bluetooth is unreliabe, although it works 90% of the time. The interface is poor. Locatiion data needs to be shared in order to use the app on Android phones. That I suspect is just poor programming. I dont trust any of the data as its obvious the programners are incompetent.

Not bad, but can be annoying and functionality is limited. Why do the scales send so many of the same readings to the app? One would suffice, rather than three. Most importantly, why is there no average weights/values by week or month or even year? Why when you look at the year tab trend, does it show the values of the last reading of each month rather than an average across each month? Makes no sense and a tiny upgrade to the code would make it so much better.

I like this app. It records my weight and has a graph that shows weight trends. Though it suits my purposes I can see after using this 3 months the extra data gained is likely taken from some database rather than the users actual body. I have been working on loosing weight/toning and am currently in a healthy BMI range but regardless of my efforts as my weight goes down, for example 0.6lbs, other stats go down in subsequently equal trends. The scale is great but the bonus data is just for fun.

This app is nice. I would like to give it 3.5 stars. It's a little clunky at times. I like a lot of the features but some could be better implemented. I also noticed a bug with goal weight. If I set my goal to 175.0, when I get to 175.9, it says that my goal is completed. Seems like a precision issue more than anything.

Still learning my way around the app, but it works with Google Fit and imports my weight directly so I don't have to enter it. One thing I thought was interesting is that when I took my weight fully dressed and then in just shorts the scale app instantly asked if I was two different people because of the weight change.

The app provides great information and I love that I can see progress that I have made. There are two major issues with that app that I have seen. One, it makes you log into the app every single time you open it. All of my other apps on my phone stay logged in, why can't this one? It's a pain to log in when I just want to step on the scale. The other problem is closely related to the first. Sometimes when I try to log in, I can't. It says network error. The only way around it is by clicking the button that says login using vesync and then it takes you to a webpage and log in from there. These issues definitely need to be fixed and then I would be happy to give it a higher star rating

Am able to create an account and the app automatically records my weight and shows graphical view of tend data. Multiple users works but if you sync with Google Fit it doesn't let you specify which user's weight is synced so each is sent messing up your Fit data. Also when it gets an unusual reading the remeasure method mostly fails.

Broken App. I've been trying for over an hour to connect my brand new scale and even though my phone finds the Bluetooth device just fine, the App says no Bluetooth scale available. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to bypass the app. Gonna send the scale back, since it's no use with an App like this.

I've been using this for years and there are so many little annoying issues that I can't even get into all of them in this little review. It constantly makes you re-weigh because it doesn't want to log it. I also hate that it doesn't allow you to go in and add a weight from a past date. I recently lost about 15 pounds but I forgot to log the original weight so it doesn't show that. I'm definitely getting something else soon.

The app appears unable to recognize my scale. In the beginning there was a tone that would signal that I had weighed myself, but now nothing. Additionally when I searched for the app to pair, I kept getting a message "must have app to connect (pair)". It's aggravating.

I hate that my scale says do not use with the other vesync app and this one says it's ending. I wish I had some help to know if it will work or not but I love how the scale and app breaks down all body mass options. Very thorough.

Garbage. Was working fine until recently. Now it won't sync with my scales at all. It picks my ESF24 scales up via Bluetooth but when I step on it, the weight isn't transferred to the app and I cannot see any additional information. Super frustrating.

Ada. H. Jan 19, 2019

Not sure why all the negative reviews. Installed the app. Created my account. Entered pairing, stepped on the scale and the app found and paired with the scale. Weight and etc appears automatically in the app when I step on the scale. Linked it to Google Fit and my weight appears to be syncing. Can probably attribute negative reviews to user error.

Scales won't connect to the app, tried at least 50 times over different days and followed the instructions, changed batteries in scales, restarted phone, turned Bluetooth on and off, extremely frustrated as I bought to measure body fat and can't change from kilograms so they're useless to me.

Edd. Q. Jul 3, 2020

Much like the other recent reviews, over the last 3 weeks my scale and app have gone wonky. The scale will take longer than usual to update the app and just won't read biometrics anymore (just my weight). In essence it's now just a scale that eventually feeds the weight into an app. Ridiculous that the company isn't fixing the issue.

Have tried at least five times, but the app won't download to my Huawei Android 7.1 tablet though the app only requires Android 4.3. The website given by product developers below, opens to a product webpage having nothing to do with the Etekcity scale, nor the VeSyncFit software!!!!! Guess I have no choice but to return the scale to the store. The required permissions are also unbelievable... I purchased this scale to get body weight info. What do you need my camera, phone and other private access for???? Your product is a scale!!!!!!!!

Doesn't Connect with Bluetooth! When I first installed the app it was great. For the past several weeks it simply just doesn't work! I've tried all the troubleshooting tips...IT DOESN'T WORK! Please fix this glitch ASAP!

I've had this app since April of last year and it's been good for the most part. Though, I have noticed that it does not measure muscle mass and fat-free body weight anymore since May of this year, only skeletal muscle. Not sure of the reason why they decided to get rid of those measurements but because I use the app for muscle gain measurements, it has reduce the value of the app in my case.
