VFR Free Forever GPS App
All versions have the Worlds Airports in it's Destination Database. The database is searchable by ICAO and any combinations of words in the airport's description. Note that the Free Trial has all the features of the Paid version.
A Flight Plan Screen is included. In addition to airports, you may add a user defined destination with User Defined Latitude and Longitude plus the ability to store the current Latitude and Longitude as a User Define Airport.
The Log Book records time in the air departure and arrival Lat/Lon plus export capability.
Exportable a text file of your points when in the air including speed, altitude, latitude and longitude.
This APP is a free, extremely easy to use VFR Airplane Navigation Aid for pilots and their passengers.
Androids have a good GPS receiver and a Magnetic Sensor. They are used to aid the pilot by telling him his Ground Track (MAGNETIC, TRUE), GROUNDSPEED (KTS, MPH, KPH), ALTITUDE (FT, Meters).
Easy to use. Easy to start. Power up the APP. The top of the phone will give you magnetic heading in degrees. This can used to set the gyroscopic direction finder.
Attach the phone to the yoke or dashboard with a commercial holder or velcro.
After a GPS is locked the VFR will show you the Magnetic deviation from True North at your current Lat/Lon location.
Go to the PANEL mode to see the basic digital instruments. Pressing any of the Type Unit Headings will scroll to different units. For example, switching from Feet to Meters altitude.

Great VFR app for flying. Airport identifiers are not correct, so that can be confusing -1 star. Otherwise great app.
Update: it works great now. Developer is quick to update any problems that you may have with your device. 5 stars! The app was neat! But right now, it's not working at all. Crashes every time I try and open it. Uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted device, etc. Crashes immediately on startup.
Can't believe this app is free, it's really nice!
It doesn't work accurately in the air craft.
As an engineer and a pilot, I understand how hard it is to design something that is indeed simple to use, without cluttering it up with "features" that don't get used. This app gets it. Put in your next waypoint and steer the airplane to the left/right indicator. Simple. I use it on my Android cell phone. I wish there was a version for my Ipad Mini!
It gives whatever i needed
This app ignores perfectly good GPS signals just because they don't meet the app's arbitrary 300ft or better accuracy requirement. Other apps like OpenFlightGPS are usable with the same quality signals that your app refuses to use.
Has the perfect display for nav and direct to airports! Tower asks you to call 5 miles out - you nail it! No guessing. Enroute flying is very accurate for going direct GPS. I love the ETE timer! Best direct nav guidance I've seen.
Can't say if it is any good as it does not see the gps on my nexus 7 2 even though the gps is turned on and showing multiple sats with good signal strength. Too bad as I was looking forward to trying it out.
Basic go to. but very good with alt ,airspeed and airfields.
Great app. Works perfectly on my EVO. Put in and label your own waypoints or non airport destinations. Easy to use.
Gps is not picking in time.Need improvement

Nice and simple display of information. I like it.
This is the one and I have tried them all. But get the paid version. It's even cooler. I compared it in flight to my G1000 and it read identical. (Note gps altitude is inherently not accurate [which is why the G1000 doesn't use it], it's not the app if you see a discrepancy). This one is SO simple to use.
As a pilot, I'm always interested in new products. This one works from an app standpoint, but I found no real use for it. Pilots want a moving map and the ability to plug in waypoints. A GPS is for situational awareness, and this doesn't really do that.
Used this the other day for a quick cross country and it worked perfectly. Very simple and easy to use. Thanks a lot!
Excellent graphics simple to view and to use. Love it!
Very useful App for pilots But it has some bugs those close the App reapetly. So updating the App is necessary.
