VGBAnext - GBA / GBC Emulator

I am also having the issue where the virtual buttons get corrupted and can only be fixed by reinstalling the app. Pixel 6 Pro on Android 12. The button graphics are not aligned with the button labels (like A in a rectangle), and the labels are clustered in the corners of the app. Settings to move the buttons don't work, and clearing app data doesn't fix it either. 5 stars when this bug is fixed as I love the emulator otherwise. Edit: the fix seems to have worked, thanks!

Great emulator, for the cheats make sure to open the file from the emulator itself. Hope this helps. Sidenote, any idea why my 8bitdo controllers directionals(up,down,left,right) won't work inside the games but does register in the emulator as well as letting me map them, however won't work once I'm in the game? All other buttons work in the emulator as well as in game.

This app in my opinion is a shell of its former self. In recent yrs I've had to use other apps to play my games. Its just not as easy to use anymore. Correct formated files don't load, there's no longer a convenient place for previously opened rom files. Not mention the loss(albeit not the fault of the developer) of the cheatopia one of the main reasons I used this app was for its convenience and its just not there anymore. In the end it can work but now it's just like any other emulator

It's true what some say about a learning curve. There were a few peculiarities, all will likely be ironed out in time. it plays flawlessly, the only permission it requires is the ability to access the files. That's really all I wanted. There are some features of other emulators I wish it had like different layout/appearance options for the control pad and being able to re-size the screen would be nice but honestly I can't complain. For what It is and the protection of my privacy 5 stars, EASY.

It works well, even with the ability to fast forward and have save states. However, I did find one issue. I cant access any roms from the SD card. It says I'm accessing the SD Card, but it's still internal. Kind of an issue when all my games are on my external memory to save space. Until this is solved, I'll still enjoy this emulator but I wont be recommending it.

Excellent emulator, my personal favorite. I will admit, the ability to play with friends over local wireless would be perfect, and I hope they add the feature at a later date, but even so it is still the best emulator I've used. Clean, simple UI, and a very convenient cheat code encyclopedia, make this one of the most used apps on my phone. Highly recommend.

How very curious my review is gone, and less than 24hrs at that. Been using this emulator for years, back when VGB was still available in the play store. Have had minimal issues for as long as I've used it, and is one of the few apps that mainstays on my devices. No emulator is perfect but I have yet to run into anything that doesn't get fixed or a setting change doesn't resolve.

I used to love this emulator on my old phone (galaxy note 9), but now with the note20 ultra phone the screen does not completely fit. In vertical, either the select and start buttons are not in view, or i cannot access the settings button or the save state button. In horizontal, the a,b, and r buttons are slightly cut off. I'll leave a 5 star review if this gets fixed. Edit: thank you! You were right and this fixed my problem.

I have adored this emulator,the fact that I can pull out my phone and just play my favorite gba games from my life when I'm constantly on the go has been fantastic And the fastforward feature is so simple and efficient to use

I love this app. Everything seems to run very smooth but i just have one issue about the game boy running at a slow speed any advice on how i can make it run at a normal speed just as how i remember the games running on the original gameboy?

Can't load games. No matter what I do I cannot start the games. I've tried numerous file destinations and thought it was the game at first. Turns out it isn't the game. This app has issues reading my game for some reason, even though it's able to find the game. Their website doesn't address this type of issue either. So putting that in your reply won't help. It used to all be automatically configured. What happend? Edit: Sent email

Doesn't work well on nVidia Shield! Interface is made for phone even though this is supposed to be an AndroidTV compatible app. Can't save button configs unless I use a USB mouse to click "done". Can't map select button on USB gamepad because the emulator treats it as the "back" button. When I load the game, I can't load settings using the button combo at all; so I can never access emulation settings to change the video mode. It's like they've never tested this on a real AndroidTV device.

I'm only reviewing for the sassy admin replying to comments. I give this app 5/5. I'd give more but thanks to this app installed on my android TV I have not been able to sleep much for two days. Crisp graphics even on my TV and great audio. It's so awesome!

If you plan on using this on nvidia shield I don't recommend it at all. The performance is laggy compared to other emulators which doesn't make sense since the hardware is there. Key mapping on shield controller doesn't work at all. You can assign keys but it will carry on using the default setup.You can forget key mapping quick save and quick load using the controller. I can't recall 100% if that's the case but I am not sure I saw a cheat input method. GBA.emu is the way to go for nvidia shield

This has always been my favorite emulator, I had it back when it was free and played on it like crazy, then realised the name was changed and you had to pay for it now so I paid for it. Then a while after I paid for it i realised with an update they removed the cheats and disappointed me greatly. I paid for it with the cheats and part of the reason was because of the cheat code but now they're removed so I hardly touch it anymore. Edit:Developer was helpful in fixing my issue, thanks so much!

it was working until this new update and now no buttons in the game work and all save data was deleted edit to response: all final fantasy games for the gba and fire emblem (the one with lynn and eliwood) edit 2 to attempt to assist in bug fix: it appears the entire screen is a button but im not sure which button it is acting as. moto z force 2 is my phone edit 3: it works once again thank you!!

It's a really good Emulator, I've spent a good amount of time playing with it and it's settings. Although, I have some performance issues, but that could be that my phone just doesn't have all the resources needed. Just some minor frame drops here and there. LG K20V here.

I can't get my cheats to work. I downloaded your file to activate the cheats, but the button in-game won't show to let me select the cheats. I don't what I did wrong. Thanks & happy new years to you.

My saves keep reverting back to previous saves. Keep losing hours of gametime.

I've tested out a few gb emulators and this has become my favorite. It's got accurate emulation and lots of options. I really like that you can move the buttons around too. I've been having a blast playing final fantasy legend 2 on it lately.

Because it doesnt load the save it loaded before and i didnt delete or change anything.

I decided to take a chance and buy this emulator because the developer was very responsive to the reviews that they received. So far, it seems great. There was a bit of a learning curve to figure out some things, like how to restart a game, but I eventually figured it out. I like how quickly it returns me to wear I left off in a game. I haven't seen any ads or received any requests for permission that were inappropriate. It's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Cool emulator but for some reason box art download is not working. It lacks a custom playlist feature. I have many homebrew ROMs and it is pain to browse in a catalog of thousand ROMs for the right one. Browsing and search features are sluggish. On a bright sight I like it have a multiple emulators contained. They are accurate and emulate homebrews like a dream (like iNES). This one have THE BEST rewind feature. It goes back to 12 sec and automatically repeat your inputs that you can amend!

There were some issues with version 6.0.1, but the developer was very quick in fixing the problem. This has been the only incident in the years I've been using this app, and now that it has been fixed I have to update my review to 5 stars. This app has fantastic functionality and I'm impressed by the speedy response time of the developer. There's no better app on the market.
