VHS Camcorder Lite (VHS Cam)

This is one of those genuine apps that really try to be what they say they are! Want to have that nostalgic feeling back? Going for the retro look? This is a legit VHS camcorder!! Hopefully more options are made with a slight quality bump as the VHS look may look too aggressive in my opinion. Still though, what a fantastic app! You can even import videos you have already! There's a pro version too. I may not use it all the time but I think it's worth the purchase for those who are interested!

So hyped when this one worked in my device. The full version doesn't work for me but this version saved me! It has limited features but it's fine. At least it works! I really like the look of it, it literally looks like the video was shot in a real VHS camcorder. I just really wish I can record with this longer. Overall hands down this is the best VHS camcorder app out there!

I don't know why people are giving this app 5 stars. the interface looks like a camcorder I guess. So kudos to them for that. my phones decent and the quality is weird to my taste. there are better apps that do can do this. I wouldn't pay for the option to record more than 30 seconds of video. 15 of which are clear, after the image becomes totally distorted and breaks out for the remaining ing 15 secs. its stupid and a waste of your time if your looking for a decent VHS filter app.

This "rad app" has not "gone lite". This is a 20 second demo. Couldn't really give it a fair trial although it *seems* to do a much better job than the Glitch app mentioned in the description. The unusable options in the menu indicate that you can configure how the date works or put some titling on the video, there seems to maybe be some additional filters available... $3.99 is not an exorbitant purchase price, but if you want to know how well the full app or its features work then you won't find out from this demo.

This app unearths a memory of having sensed the pulse of the world in a time I was alive for but don't recall having lived through. It is a member of an exclusive club of elusive apps whose use as-is-out-the-box w/o changing defaults produces the result you seek. Buying the pro upgrade as soon as I get my next pay cheque. The way it distorts as you max out the rec time alloted is absolutely beautiful, I hope there's a way to utilize that as a fade-out effect even after upgrading.

Great app! If you like photography it's a lot of fun trying to film with such a small amount of time with the lite version as it makes you really think about your composition and content! My only complaint is that you can't take a picture with the app. It's such a great, authentic filter I don't know why this isn't a feature of the app! Unless it's on the full version then I will definitely consider purchasing it... but for now the lite version is great for a bit of fun

Straight to the point and easy to use ZERO ADS and gives you all that you look for. A nice little touch is definitely the camera controls. There's no giant watermarks that are permanently on the screen either as seen on other apps and the date and time is set to the present. Grain and glitch effects aren't overwhelming and are at the right settings. Although the app is great, watching ads to add tapes is the only downside, Other than that I 100% recommend this app.

Installed the premium version after this trial. That really takes you back in the time. the result is really amazing. No other app, I repeat, No other app out there comes closer to original 80s vhs than this one does. Great job! Do stick to lite version if your Aim is just to make short (<30s) videos. You wont be offered some other features & Filters though. PS: Long press the 'Light' button to increase 'Gain'. The filter will collect more light.

It's not bad, I think the app tries a little too hard for the effect. But you can actually fool people it is possible. Vhs don't really have that white mess streak on the bottom never seen any real vhs does that. Maybe with out the white mess streak on the bottom it wouldn't be that bad. And with fuzz or blurriness with over saturation can give the look a promising effect. Yeah call me a vhs expert. Also vhs has SD, so it doesn't make sense when it's set to FHD. It doesn't make a realistic look.

This app is amazing and have been using it for months now. However, I recently backed up for photos to create more storage space and all my videos (which was a lot) were deleted from this app. (I still have them in my camera roll though) These original files "aren't supported" now, but I don't know why backing up my photos has deleted the original file.

Love the concept of taking that nostalgic feel of the 80s to my 2015 phone. Though I actually wasn't alive during the 80s or 90s, I still really like the effort put in to see how we did "YouTube" back then. This app also makes me wonder about the shear advancement that we made in videography. Can't wait to April Fools my channel. Keep up the good work!

This is, by far, the best VHS filter you can find on a smartphone. All the other ones I've tried, even Instagram, just don't give a realistic enough of an effect. VHS camcorder, however, totally delivers! As a 90's kid myself, I'm so happy that they were able to preserve a little piece of that era. Kudos to the devs. 🙂

it's an awesome app that does what it says. Many apps now days say that they can change your camera or shoot a laser for a laser pointer and don't live up to expectations, but this app is different. It really changes the quality to the old camcorders. If you like retro quality things this is the app to get.

Really awesome app, but the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because basically all the good features are all needed on the Pro version, and i do not have an account to buy it-at least you can have a 7 day trail...like other apps. Please can you make a video be able to be recorded for longer..because it does get stressful. Anyways awesome app‼

Edit: Uninstalled due to lack of interest. It's a nice idea like other folks have said. Except there's that depressing twenty second time limit that's still in effect. For a 'free' build of a premium app, that's a pretty stupid function to have, to be quite frank with you guys. Why would I pay three dollars to get all these effects AND a feature that should've been standard on the free version? Doesn't make an ounce of sense.

Absolutely love it! Amazing quality - looks so real. Would get the full app, however I think £3 is a bit expensive to remove the time limit. I know there are more features unlocked but still most useful one is the time limit. Nevertheless, amazingly done!!!

its a super great app, every thing is easy to use and understand. the VHS effect is far the best i seen. the only problem is that it dosen't have a pause button. and that its basically a demo. overall a good app, i plan to by the full version.
