Completely unreliable.Pretty much never can we book a ride. Always get a message "currently experiencing very high demand". Sometimes spent an hour trying to book without any luck. The app is also slow. Customer service cannot do anything. How come we get "high demand" message for 4-5 days in a row at different times during the day for several hours? On 1 out of 10 days when you can book, the service is extremely slow and there is no governance on drivers or fellow travellers. Deleting the app
Great app, GPS works perfectly fine, driver arrives to pick up point exactly when the current time estimate says. There was no error messages that popped up, I was able to add a payment method and book both my rides with ease. Very affordable too! I think the patrons can be the biggest con. A lady wasted 15 minutes of ours because she got the driver to constantly drive around until he found her, she was no where near the pick up point.
The cars and drivers have all been great in my experiences so far. The app and service behind them, not so much. If the app works (which seems to be about 50% of the time), the GPS and timing estimates are off by laughable amounts. When trying to book an accessible van, the app frequently says a live rep will get to me (instead of it just booking the ride), and then... nothing happens. A live rep never contacts. If it weren't currently free in my area, I wouldn't bother using it at all.
The app worked well with both my business and personal accounts until several months ago when I could no longer add a credit card. At customer service's suggestion, I reinstalled the app, and now I can't sign in. "Oh dear, we seem to be experiencing a connection issue" is the error message, no matter whether the data connection is cell or WiFi. No other apps present problems, and customer service refuses to escalate the issue to a developer.
I appreciate most, the payment plans you offer. It's a bit confusing because upon the completion of "some" rides, I was charged a few dollars more than the price given me. I strongly believe "my" confusion has to do with the number of discounts (20) I actually thought I had after initially installing and activating the app. Also, after still using other apps (Lyft, Juno, etc), I find the prices to fluctuate the same; actually VIA was a bit higher at times. I'm still willing to give u a chance.
On the surface this is a great app. Cost efficient , great friendly drivers who know the city, and overall a help to the elderly and disabled community. However, I find that this isnt worthy of five stars. Nor four. One of the biggest issues being the wait times. Sometimes two minutes. Sometimes half an hour or no rides at all because routing takes drivers on longest path possible to fill the most seats--which I cant blame them for but it happens so often it's hard to ignore.
This app was good and ok to use at first but then it has too many problems. The map didn't work at most times, if you put where you are and where you're going it would change it and make the driver go somewhere else. And when you did get a ride it would make you wait a long time and half of the time the driver wouldn't move so it would cancel the ride to a new one and make you wait again. I also found out drivers would take breaks while I'm waiting for them to pick me up. Too many problems!
Consistently long wait times, even for $$ private rides. The estimated arrival times are always incorrect...It's typical for me to get a 10+ minute pickup estimate (with no direct pickup option, btw...so, sorry if it's hard for you to walk), then actually wait 20+ minutes for my ride without good time updates. It gets two stars only for the price. It really is cheaper than others, even for express services. But you get what you pay for. If you need to get somewhere at a reliable time, don't Via
Riders used to get text messages with important information about our upcoming ride. Now we get app notifications which would be fine but I only see the first word or two of the message in my notification. Tapping it just takes you to the app but there's no notifications history or anyway to find out what the heck is going on with the ride. I wish I had known that a recent ride had been significantly delayed! It's stressful, please fix.
Used to love them, but their time estimations to pick up were way off. I was still using them up until today, but I ordered a car and the pickup spot was unclear. Seemed like every time I turned around, the arrow to where I was supposed to be picked up pointed to a different direction. When I requested a refund for the $3 cancelation fee, they declined, despite the fact that I have probably spent at least a thousand on their app in my time as a customer. Bye guys! Guess I'll stick with Lyft.
Totally dissatisfied!!! Via take money for via passes but then doesnt allow you to book rides. Although cheaper than other apps, Via gets more expensive with every update. Think I may go back to public transportation if the price increases any more. I am using via because they were inexpensive. If the price continues to increase, I will have to stop using the app. It doesnt make any sense that I have to pay almost $100 dollar a week but still have to pay partially for the actual ride also.
Constant delays, the app lags so I never know right away. And they are now constantly changing the pickup areas. I just had them cancel my ride out of nowhere when I finally walked all the way to the dark street with no lights it wanted me to go to, and then when I got another (he was in the same area as the last) I didn't realize until last minute I had to walk all the way back to where I originally was because it the pickup changed. Also had drivers try to drop me off in the middle of street.
When it comes to my experience with using this service over the years I've come to find that while it is an okay method of getting around, at the same time it is far too unreliable at times that made me question using the service several times. I would often have to plan my trip well over an hour in advance if I intended to make my trip on time. Even then that can be a bit of a crapshot considering driver delays. Relying on this service for work is something I wouldn't recommend.
Great app! I have to use this to get to and from work. I was using Uber Nd was spending at least 10 for one way sometimes up to 40 because of traffic. I get the pass so to and from work for the week is now 25 because of Via. It is NOT true that you have to walk far for your pickup. The longest I've walked is 2 minutes. If you can't walk 2 minutes to your pickup or after your drop off then you have other issues to deal with. I never wait more than 10mins for a Via. VERY,VERY SATISFIED!!!!!!
Definitely cheaper than the other options. I would like to see a way to add a tip at a later date. Having to email the company after every ride because I hit "done" is annoying. if they are getting an hourly salary, unlike the other options, why do we have to tip? Edit..after last update, GPS is super glitchy, rides freeze. Edit. Angry. Late for work, again. "Driver delayed", click new ride, same driver. Cmon. Having to leave much earlier to get to work, unreliable. I am paying more for uber.
This rideshare went from being fantastic to abysmal in November. I live in the Foggy Bottom area of DC and was usually assigned drivers relatively close to me in DC for my morning commute, but now that Via has opened service to Virginia, I'm constantly getting matched with drivers that have been in Fort Myers and even as far away as Arlington. What's worse is if you try to cancel and reschedule a ride, the app will constantly rematch you to the same driver that is deep in Virginia, or wherever they are. The pickup ETA is almost always wrong. Expect it to take an extra 8-10 minutes on top of the ETA the app gives you. Via also does the same thing as Uber as far as basing pricing on the neighborhoods you are traveling between, so since my home pickup/destination is Foggy Bottom, it assumes I am wealthy (which is not the case). The only positive thing about Via now is its low pricing for the monthly pass (which I've heard is lower for other people that don't live in neighborhoods like Foggy Bottom).
The entire time I used this app and company were not great experience. There are shortcuts that you can take, but VIA will not tell you. The company will lead you like a deer in headlights until you talk with the driver. The phone number the whole time did not work. I was in the car and heard a passenger communicating, verbally with the driver but the phone number will tell you to text the driver or email. The pick up point is never at the exact place but far from your pick up. smh
really disappointed, when I first used the app it seemed to be really good. it was cheap/fast but I deactivated it right after what happened. so I was in Manhattan already late for work, I thought I would order a cab service and I logged into the Via app, I entered the addresses and booked the car. the app showed me the message saying that there o is some kind of problem with my account. I tried to order a cab 2 more times, they charged me 3 times (over 80$) and cab never arrived. Screw that!
Very inconsistent. Works good if you're not even the slightest in any rush. Even when I schedule with plenty of time ahead, on multiple occasions I've waited till the driver was almost here, and then they re-assigned me to another driver 15+ minutes away. Very inconvenient and they don't justify their need to re-assign you. If you're headed into work, I would not recommend this, even if scheduling ahead.
Had a bit of trouble using my Google Account but after troubleshooting that hiccup everything was smooth sailing. As an avid Lyft rider and former Uber driver, I have to admit there isnt much difference in quality and proffesionalism. Expanding the coverage area would definitely be an outstanding upgrade but for the price, just a local commute is well worth 12 quarters.
This is the worst app, and the worst ride service. It takes 30-50 minutes to get a ride, if they can even find one for you. I keep trying it hoping they got more vehicles and it'll be better, but it's been over a year and they continue to have the same problems. Also, if you do find a ride you've got a 50/50 chance of it being canceled out from under you
I've used this on the weekend sometimes and it's a minimum of 15 minute wait. I've had to wait twice as long sometimes because the first car cancelled or never showed. Considering how far they can take you, this is unbelievablely long. This app only covers a small and limited area. I also have an Orca card and credit, but I can't use the credit because I have to use the Orca card
It's convenient if you're on a budget, but there's some really big issues. Lots of the vans have problems like no air or poor shock absorption (The latter's awful if you're prone to car sickness) Additionally, they're very, very understaffed, meaning that not only are drivers exhausted, but riders will often have to wait upwards of twenty minutes to be picked up, not even counting the frequent delays.
I have a account I no longer have access it. I cant change my password because I no longer use the phone number associated with the account. Its frustrating theres no way to change the password through gmail. Its also frustrating when a ride that said would take 2 minutes in the app changes to 10, then stays saying 10 minutes for 20 minutes longer, and you end up staying stranded for almost an hour waiting to get to where you wanted to go.
Time management is terrible, their is some drivers that will drop you off in the most unsafe spots. Not reliable, everything all together are uncoordinated. Sometimes you have driver question your trip. They offer a service but it's always getting updated, changing their regulations. Wouldn't trust this app going to work on time, or even at all.
