Vibration Meter
★ Vibration Meter is a free app which can measure the vibration (seismograph, body tremor, seismometer).
★ This app uses the phone sensors to measure vibration or the earthquake, and it shows a reference as a seismic detector. Using this app, you can check vibrations both on the Richter scale and on the modified Mercalli intensity scale.
★ To calibrate application click on the button
- Calibrate, put your device on the flat surface and wait till value stabilize. It should take about 20 seconds. After that click OK button and enjoy the earthquake!
★ App shows reference to earthquake vibrations as classified by internationally used Mercalli intensity scale for seismic activities such as earthquakes. The Mercalli intensity scale is a seismic scale used for measuring the intensity of an earthquake. It measures the effects of an earthquake. Vibration Meter can also be called seismograph or seismometer when used for measuring seismic activity.
★ Mercalli intensity scale:
I. Instrumental
- Not felt. Recorded by seismographs.II. Weak
- Felt only on top floors of high buildings.III. Slight
- Felt indoors, like a passing light truck.IV. Moderate
- Windows, doors rattle. Like passing train.V. Rather Strong
- Felt by all. Small objects upset.VI. Strong
- Books off shelves. Trees shake. Damage.VII. Very Strong
- Difficult to stand. Buildings damaged.VIII. Destructive
- Significant damage. Trees broken.IX. Violent
- General panic. Serious damage. Cracks.X. Intense
- Most buildings destroyed. Rails bent.XI. Extreme
- Rails bent greatly. Pipelines destroyed.XII. Catastrophic
- Near total damage.
★ Some countries use Richter scale instead of Mercalli scale. The Richter scale is a base-10 logarithmic scale, which defines magnitude as the logarithm of the ratio of the amplitude of the seismic waves to an arbitrary, minor amplitude.
★ Check the vibrations with your phone!

I like this app it lets u see when u are feeling a little shaky sometimes...its not yourself all the time. Its mother nature natural earths movement.

Something else needed wished it had limited save to files as reference for later say...At least a few for filing would be very handy indeed this being on calibration vibration level and decimal levels iv ect: characters setting either high/low or level whisper to or electrical

I worked with mines and geology in Los Angeles. I also received information that would help other prepare for anything as rough as a earthquake. This programming that went into the development of this application could prove useful. In the event you are conducting research in your area for movement, this would be a wonderful tool for preparation scenarios. Keep up the good work.
Used this to validate to Tire shop that I had a tire out of balance. Showed up very well at 40mph.
App accuracy not best differ from vibration meter. Useful only for tentative purpose. Create huge misunderstanding.
My home is vibrating 24-7 I can't get the calibration do to the constant shaking in my home. Works great

This is very useful for me because I live in east italy where there are lots of earthquakes so this is very help full to warn my neighbours....

All vibrations are good
This app should have a settable alarm. One that you can set to go off at a selected vibration intensity to warn you of a earthquake or sink hole.
Want radiation meter app
keeps on showing 3.2 on the richter scale yet it's on the floor with literally no movement at all. put it in high precision, and it's still the same. uninstalling for now.
