I never was familiar with a platasomething. But This app is so easy to use. Once you understand how to use it (Not Hard) then its really quick. Very useful if your at a gig, the "Leader" or Singer or Frontman asks for a Rudimentary you forget, take out your phone and you got it. Just get the app.
This app does not function at all, can't view any of the rudiments. It was my go to app as i am teaching my 2 sons to play the drums. If they can reestablish the functionality and all other things that once were obtainable through this app,i will change my rating.
Before something changed, so that the app can no longer keep your device from going to sleep, this was great! Detailed explanations by top educators w/ technical and conceptual approaches for each rudiment. A progressive 5-step metronome workout to bring you up to speed. Plus, vids of well-known drummers demonstrating the techniques, on a full kit, to see how they apply to different types of music. This app took boring, technical practice and made it fun and engaging! Too bad it's totally broken, now.
Used to be 5 star but now useless, wish they'd fix it, due to this handy app I didn't have to go to Vic Firth website, oh well, back to the site at least that is one resource they don't muck up, and it is TOP quality my fav for rudiment trai, and there are a lot out there....
I think that it really needs more issues to read, but other than that it is GREAT really good to practice or have as backup
No longer works since update. Issue no longer downloads. App has been rendered useless as unable to open the issue. It used to be such a fantastic resource. :(
Very comprehensive and it makes you wanna learn everything coz the presentation is awesome. The only drawback is it's a pain to download the additional file. Even if you have a fast Internet pack.
When the screen goes off, the app sound also stops. You need to tap to screen from time to time to leep it working (android samsung note 4)
It would be perfect if it had hybrid rudiments and more issues to read, like product catalogs and articles on Vic Firth and other percussion.

I love all the instructional and artist videos that are jammed in this app.
I've tried 4 times to download the issue but it simply stops everytime. Does anyone else have this issue & can i fix it?
The rudiment issue won't download. I tried to make space on my phone but that isn't the problem....
It stopped working but before hand it was actually pretty useful

Its instructing
The app doesn't stop the phone from going to sleep. And when the phone goes to sleep, the app stops playing audio. If you're practicing along with the audio on the app, you have to touch your screen every few seconds to keep the phone awake. This app would be great, but this issue makes the app essentially unusable to me.
Good: great chop builder, John is a wonderful instructor and easy to follow. Bad: audio turns off when screen times out. If you fix this bug I will refer every drummer I know to this app and give a 5 star rating.
The app no longer works, tried it on three devices, fails with same error on all three. Too bad, it was useful for practicing rudiments.
