Vicks SmartTemp Thermometer

Was great when it worked. I got super bummed out when I first downloaded the app & saw how many poor reviews this product had. Goes to show, do your research first. All I get now is a black screen. Would really like to check my temp because I feel horrible, but can't do it. Uninstalled & reinstalled--still nothing. Don't bother with this thermometer, it's not dependable. 😑😤

I downloaded the app and it wouldn't even load the screen for me to set up. I tried this whole process on another phone and we got to setting up the Bluetooth and it wouldn't take the pin in order to pair the device! Awful experience. They should at least provide a backup method in case things like this happen. Now the product is useless to me. Waste of money.

Will not connect to probe. If I manually view the list of Bluetooth device, I can see it, but pairing always fails. I've tried on two different phones, but to no avail. Maybe it's because this was built for an old version of Android and just needs an update?

On my old Android, Samsung Galaxy S6, it worked with no problems...(5 stars) However, after installing it on my newest phone (2 phones later), I noticed that it specifically states that it's for an Older Version Android (Too bad I couldn't share the pic of the message). So much for wanting to use this Thermometer to implement it into what's considered our "new nornal". 🧐 GET WITH THE PROGRAM Vicks!! 😡

This thermometer does not come with it's own lcd screen and relies 100% on the phone to show temps. I upgraded my phone to the new android 10 now the thermometer does not connect, tried connecting manually through bluetooth with 4 digit Pin, no luck! I don't know what pin they are using to pair. The app does not pair with thermometer and I can not DIY it manually. Developers please update!

The app is garbage. It doesn't function at all. Samsung Note9. It looks like the app is going to load but then just goes to a black screen. Absolute garbage. I'll be writing to Vicks with a colorful complaint indeed. This is unacceptable, especially for such a big company especially in 2019!

Convenient to use. I like the way you can have different profiles for each family member it's sometimes difficult to pair with the bluetooth and sometimes the app itself doesn't open so it gets frustrating other then that it's a great product for on home use i would recommend keeping a regular thermometer in the house with this one as a back up for the times the app won't open.

I am so sick of having to uninstall and reinstall this app. It is made terribly and anyone who bought the thermometer has wasted money because the app is trash. When the app is open, now it only shows a black screen despite the reinstalling. I highly suggest the developers do something about this and fix this app so it actually does something, especially since we are in the middle of a pandemic. Thankful I have another thermometer in case of emergencies now. Fix this app.

Worked fine until my phone was updated to Android 10.0. When I opened the app there was a message re: the app was developed for an earlier version of Android and may no longer work properly until app is updated. Thermometer will no longer pair with my phone. I have contacted the developer by email. If app is updated I will gladly rate it at 5 stars, as it was a pretty good app until this pairing issue.

Okay the App is a great idea it really is it stores your data and that's great but I'm experiencing frequent crashes for my app and that's just not acceptable I bought this because I couldn't find my original thermometer but I'm tempted to go buy a plan one because your app is out of whack and I need to take my 1 year olds temp because he doesnt feel good and he feels hot!!!!!! Thought this would be better. I'm not impressed.

A year or so ago this app worked perfect. Never had an issue. Went to use my Vicks smartTemp thermometer today and the app wouldn't load. I uninstalled and reloaded about a dozen times. It just freezes after the opening screen and never gets the chance to attempt to connect to the thermometer.

I would really give this a no star. Worked twice. Then app crashed. I uninstalled it and reinstalled. App would not allow me to accept permissions etc because it crashed right away. Tried 1 more time and just got a black screen when I opened the app. Tried on 2 different phones. Not worth your time or money.

I loved this app! Could export data easily, divide into family members and the color coding made it super easy to know if I should be concerned or not. However, since latest Android update, app no longer connects to the thermometer so now I can't use it anymore. I really hope this will be fixed soon and I can use my favorite thermometer again soon.

Heres the breakdown.. Pros - profiles to keep history of every family member. Cons - App freezes constantly. Want to blame my phone (Note 4) ? My wife's Droid turbo won't even bring the first screen up. Have to keep closing all apps and try it again, over and over, by the time you get your temp your fever is days gone. - No updates EVER. -The thermometer is useless without the app, it doesn't have its own screen on it. -The app is worthless thus making the thermometer a paperweight. buyer beware

This is useless for the newer phones. It worked on my s7 edge, but it doesn't work on my s10e. Very disappointed. I had a very high fever last night and was unable to find out what temperature it was because this wouldn't connect.

It would be great if the app would load to read the temperature. It used to work for me and now it crashes on startup every time. I've sent feedback multiple times over the past few months and there hasn't been any update for the app.

I can't even connect the thermometer to the phone without the application crashing on me. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing. Before making a thermometer that doesn't have a screen, you should really make sure the app works first. You've lost a customer.

Update: got a new phone and now it won't connect at all. Threw my money away in this one. Great concept; however, the thermometer won't stay connected to my phone. getting it reconnected is a challenge. you also cannot tell what your temp is without it being connected.

Just got this off Amazon, finally able to get a decent thermometer I thought. Can't even use it! My phone can see it in the bluetooth menu, but it says right on the download that it's old and needs updated, seems like something Vicks should get on since they don't have any thermometers available anywhere.

Doesn't pair with my current version of Android (10). Keeps telling me it can't complete the first time pairing. It worked fine before on an older phone but no it doesn't work with my new phone. Please update the app.

Every time you open the app it leads you to a black screen where eventually it shuts off saying the app isn't working. I tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if that would work, but it doesn't. Use to work well but now... not so much.

GREAT IDEA IF THE APP ACTUALLY WORKED WHICH IT DOESN'T. I have a Samsung S9+ and the app crashes every time it's opened. I've rebooted the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared the cache and deleted the data including a forced stop.
