Only One of Its Kind and Does the Job Eventually. I wouldn't usually tolerate an app that just crashes multiples times every single use (I don't have an older phone or any internet issues at all) but it's the only option. It's such a pain to use that eventually I'll go for long periods without using it at all. But, I keep coming back because it does what I need it to eventually.

Love this idea, not functional. The quality is quite diminished when watching a movie on this app vs. If I watched it straight from the streaming app itself. Not sure why that is since it goes through that app to play it. It sometimes looks like I'm watching a bootleg version of the movie. Also it is so hard to scroll all the way to pick a movie and then when you back out it takes you all the way to the very beginning of all the selections, instead of where you left off. Wastes a lot of time.

Love the concept of vidangel! We use it frequently to watch movies as a family. 2 complaints. My app is constantly crashing while I'm watching, and you can't cast to Roku anymore. They say you can cast to other smart tvs but I've never been able to get it to work, so we've had to hook our computer up to the TV...which is a huge pain, Albeit a very 1st world problem.

I wish the movie studios would get on board with this concept. But alas! Many movies aren't available (I'm looking at you Disney). Because Google, Roku, and Amazon keep messing with the app, it takes some work to get them running now. But I did get it going, so I'm keeping it. Even just on my phone to watch, it'd almost be worth the current cost. It's ok as is. The editing is uneven; sometimes so much is cut you can't tell what happened. Other times it's just right. I love the customization!

Have been a subscriber to vidangel since the beginning, I really want to support the idea, but the function and interaction between the app and devices is pathetic. We are continually frustrated with casting issues, compatibility problems, on and on. We keep hoping that it will improve that someone is doing something to make it better. Hard to keep paying for something that is so hard to use that it can't be enjoyed.

I love that I can watch shows edited. However it buffers all the time, the app just stop when on my phone. I bought roku to use it. Then they switched to chromecast. So it's actually cost me quite a bit to use this app that does not always play well and throws the audio off from the visual. Frustrating.

Love the idea, but I really can't recommend the app anymore. Just way too many bugs. It takes about three tries to get any show playing. The last time I asked for support I was told it was working fine for others. So hopefully they start taking these issues seriously and fix things.

I LOVE this app. My wife and I use it for just about any movie or show we want to watch. We love all the Britbox stuff, and we're crazy glad the filters are there so we can enjoy those shows in peace. VidAngel is more than worth the $10 imho. I'd easily spend double that without complaint if VidAngel wants to increase their profit margins a bit. :D :D Their service is amazing. Get it. Try it. Love it.

The service it provides is a great idea but there are SO many issues that make it not even close to being worth $10/mo. It often mutes entire sentences with a single disallowed word in them, the volume on a lot of programs won't respond at all to being increased, the service frequently goes down in the middle of shows, you have to disconnect and reconnect any time you switch programs or else it'll play on the phone, and it only has like 40% of the programs the streaming services provide.

I got a new phone and now the app won't open at all! I went from a Pixel 3xl to a Pixel 6. I had the usual crashing problems before, but now when I click on the icon the screen just flashes, but the app doesn't open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, no luck. Help!

I do appreciate this app. But I was very disappointed to discover that you can only watch it with STARZ if it's the version connected to Amazon. This app has exactly the same content but costs more money. I decided to try STARZ for a few months at a really good deal. Then signed up for VIDANGEL only to discover I can't filter the shows I want to watch through it.

The shows are great, the app is annoying. It closes unexpectedly frequently and fails to hold my place in the show and if I've started an episode but haven't finished it, when I return to watch it suggests the next episode rather than remembering I'm on the episode I'm on.

This is a follow-up to a previous rating about the app not opening for me. I couldn't figure out how to remove the rating. After letting the app load up for a l-o-n-g time, it opened, and I was able to follow through and cast it to my Roku where it was added as a channel and works like all my other Roku channels (no phone required after the initial set up). It works very well so far. I'm thankful for it.

Really great concept, shaky execution. The app is wonderful....when it works. It has become very glitchy, randomly just turning off constantly. I also wish it would save your viewing place when searching through options. If you go back, it takes you to the beginning of your search. Lastly, I also would like the video to show the episode you're currently viewing when tapped, instead of having to go back and, well, I already went into all that.

Great service. Buggy app. I love the service they provide. But, that feels like they haven't worked on improving the app and a really long time. It's really buggy. :/

I can no longer cast to my firetv, it may have started around the last update. I've done everything I can to get it to work. I restarted the app, restarted the TV, done it all. Youtube casts to the TV without any issues, it's not a TV problem or a phone problem it's an app problem. If I can't cast to the TV then the app worthless to me, please get it fixed.

I really enjoy this app but lately the "sign up for a subscription" advertisement prevents me from being able to watch any episodes. It just stops after the ad,, no way to skip. I already have and pay for a subscription, I don't need the ad but it won't advance past it. I'm going to cancel if they don't fix it soon.

Absolute garbage app that simply does not work. Cancelling our account with Vidangel because the app on our Firestick TV has never functioned, & as of this year, casting from my phone to the Firestick is no longer supported so we are unable to watch anything through Vidangel on any device. We are so disappointed because this is the only place to watch edited movies.

I love watching what I can without the garbage. This app is awful though. If I respond to a message while watching, the screen will freeze and the whole phone will lag for nearly five while minutes. If the glitches got fixed I would instantly rate this app five stars

Love the option to filter. Have had lots of glitching in the past 4-6 weeks that never used to happen. Stopped using Firestick for this reason and got Roku. Disappointed that Roku has now removed the app from their list of apps.

This app does not cast to the TV and has terrible quality. It constantly pauses and does not work at all

I love Vid Angel so much! As a 15 year old with high standards, I can watch whatever I want, however I want. And I can do so without worrying about little siblings and kids who might walk in the room. It takes some time to get the right settings for your show, but once you get that right combination, it's perfect watching. I recommend Psych, IT Crowd, and of course, The Chosen.

Has become glitchy. I pay by the month for this app, I really love it when it works! Lately I haven't been able to cast it from my tablet to my tv like I always have. I think the last update with app started causing casting problems.

I don't know what happened but the app stopped working. I tried to clear cache as instructed uninstalled reinstalled and nothing is working. It literally just shuts down, continually, even trying to cast to Google. Update: have to reaching out to the developer by email I was surprised to get an immediate response back they worked on this overnight and found a fix and they certainly deserve five stars.

Love it! It chops up sometimes, and is annoying to have to put the filters on each film before you watch it, but it's worth it anyways, thanks guys! P.S, if you could fix the bugs/chopping up thing sometime that would be great thanks.

I have to agree with some others. I really want to love the app as much as I love the idea of it but there are way too many issues that lead to frustration. There is no flow between episodes, the app constantly freezes, crashes itself or OUR PHONES, where have to do a hard shutdown (or just turns off), and I have issues with casting. Sounds like there are bugs that need to be worked out and maybe a way for it flow from one episode to the next (after download) without stopping in between.

Stopped working with my firetv. Spoke with tech and tried troubleshooting step til updating the TV and my phone and all of the steps. Very frustrated. It works with my Roku. Disappointed

I just signed up for a year subscription, and I am unable to cast to my Samsung tv. I have tried all their suggestions with no luck. Casting to my tv works fine through the chosen app, so I'm not sure why this is an issue.
