With Video & TV Cast you can browse through the web and stream or cast any video you want on your Sony TV. Just navigate to your favorite website and send the embedded video with a single tap to your Sony TV. The discovered video will be shown below the browser. A tap on the video link will send it to your Sony TV immediately.

* Please open the built-in Video & TV Cast app on your Sony TV to start.
* Please enter the ip-address of your Android device by using the number pad and up/down/left/right keys on your Sony remote.
* NOT SUPPORTED Videos: Flash video, Google Play movies, Netflix, Amazon and HBO and other DRM protected videos web-videos, online-movies, livestreams and live-tv shows.
* Please test your websites and videos in the free edition! If casting fails, upgrading will NOT make it work magically.
* The app does NOT mirror your full Android device, it just pushes the video part of a website to your Sony TV.
* To play mp4, m3u8 or other videofiles directly on Sony TV just enter or paste the full video-url in the browser address bar.
* Sometimes it is necessary to play the video on your Android device before the link gets detected for casting.
* If the connection does not work, please try to restart your Android device, Sony TV and wifi router.
* If a specific web-video, online-movie, livestream or live-tv show does not cast, please check our FAQ or send the website and video link to [email protected] by using the report feature in the app. We will try to add support for your video as soon as possible. 10 years ago, I would be ok with jumping through this many hoops. Save yourself precious moments of life and just get a roku, firestick, or chomecast. I don't know what proprietary games they were playing when they manufactured my Sony "smart" TV, but this is garbage--both ends. The adds, the apps, the incompatible, incompetent, un-intuitive conglomeration that they've derived is a completely embarrassing waste. This app is useless.
Utterly rubbish! Completely useless application. What a piece of rubbish.
I have a Sony Bravia LED Smart TV. I felt that my long wait was over after finding thus app on the app store, but it had to disappoint me. I followed the instructions, after entering the IP on the TV screen it does nothing, it stays 'red' which is the sign of not connected. I followed the t/s steps and all other things but nothing helped. Such a wonderful app, I wasted an hr to make it work, but it was in vain
This app is useless. Downloaded to be able to my Sony TV and followed the step only to find out you can only cast media from within the Sony Video & TV cast app. It does not allow you to cast from other apps on your device. It was a hassle to set up and then turned out to be useless. Nothing more than a waste of time
worst app ever! couldnt watch a thing! had both my phone & tv connected to the same wifi, same IP & everything just as instructed, yet everytime I click the app on my tv it disconnects from the wifi! waste of time, waste of data downloading this horrible app & the other app reccomended for my device via the FAQ. I will never ever make this mistake again. This is the second time this has happened! last time was w/ my older tv and my older phone, thought maybe upgrading would help; yet here I am👹
excellent app but a problem with CC(Closed Captions). When I go back to watch local TV channels, the closed captions on the TV disappear and the only way to see the closed captions is to unplug the TV and plug it back in. In other words, the app messes up the TV's Closed Captions.
Really bad application, it's not intuitive and even when you figure out how to use it, it doesn't work. After getting connected on the same IP, the video player in the TV just kept buffering no matter how long we left it. Total bs.
Waste of time, never works, even paid the extra few quid for premium, connects to tv but cannot play any videos, you just get "buffering" then "connection error" waste of time, total rip off, avoid, avoid AVOID!
awful experience with this app.not only is it a pain to get connected and working but once you are able to get a connection or think you are connected its spam city with ads and never plays an actual vieo so you really have no idea if it actually works
I'm streaming web videos to my sony smart tv (not android tv) from my phone via your cast application in vewd app. But now it's showing vewd app service will discontinue from 25th june onwards. If so then how can I use the cast app again from opera tv vewd after 25th june. pls reply. My phone don't support screen mirroring. Edit:- Now there is no use for this app. Opera tv discontinued...
Videos plays faster here than cast direct Android but it keeps disconnecting when the phone is inactive. Used to be the only way to mirror in iPhone through Vewd(Opera TV) on Sony. As of today, the app is no longer available on Sony Opera TV making it useless now. Edit: as of 1/24/2019 it's available again in Vewd
Haven't checked the app in quite some time but, all those old buffering issues seem to be gone. Only a few of my videos don't work, probably not supported formats yet.
Ads to use app at all. Does not work with apps for viewing. Limited to services already installed on the TV. This app is not very useful at all.
It didn't work, I'm trying to cast to my Sony TV, the app with the TV cost money and I don't no if it will work, I'm still trying apps to find one that will, I have a Sony TV, PlayStation PS3, a Sony DVD player, Sony cam, and the remote don't even work with each other, and I'm trying to have my PC and phone work with them,
What a piece of trash. I was not able to even cast a single pic. It is a shame sony decided to use such a complicated app to allow casting from smartphones.
It worked last year, I moved and tried it again...it no longer works; probably due to it being no longer supported. No wonder it has such low ratings! It should be removed from google play!
The app bombards you with constant ads, and constantly asks you to pay for premium, but the app itself never works. How can you expect me to pay for the paid version of something that doesn't work in the first place?
Its just an awful app. I would think that sony have the know gow to make a casting app for their products instead of contracting a company to do it for them with in app purchases to use the app to its full purpose. What a shame. DO NOT USE THIS APP. ITS A WASTE OF TIME.
Junque. It wont even play the demo video. Cannot get anything to connect except for their homescreen, which is useless.
Trush .. It doesn't work. The app asks to download so many other apps with lot of advertising, and dosen't work .. All those apps are trash
Works fine. Had a problem casting live video from a website that had pop up ads so had to find another website.
It casts video just for few minutes in TV and then it stops. Also navigation is not that user friendly.
Fire every dev who worked on this, I can barely write HTML and I could still probably write something better than this absolute heap of garbage. Why Sony chose you guys to develop this app for bravia TVs is a mystery.
it was good with sony bravio, but now, since VEWD app store has been removed from my sony tv (from 25/6/19), I'm not able to use this app (premium version) is there any solution for this?
There seemed to be a lot of adds in the free version. However, the app works so well I purchased it. Well worth the cost.
Near useless. Very limited and will not provide any current streaming apps to connect.
Update: customer service is helpful and willing to work with you. Hope it works better for you than me. Downloaded this after reading and watching the YouTube video on how to do this. Set up the correct address, both devices connected to my wifi, doesn't send anything to my TV. Does not even give me the cast option! Not happy with paying for an app that does not work.
