Viewdeo (free): Reddit Video Sharing made Simple

This app has done exactly what I wanted it to in the past but the newest version doesn't even let me open the video viewer. I still download the video but after I do, there is no push notification like there used to be. I also have to go through the file explorer to the downloads where the viewdeo saved videos are located to share them. This is what is holding me back from a 5 star.

*UPDATE: My videos have reappeared, thank you! I still prefer the old version and the layout of the clips screen, I'd rather they were all a standard size like it was before but at least I have everything back and it works just as good as it did before.* All my old downloaded videos are gone since this new update, I have tried everything to find/recover them but they are nowhere to be found, I think I'll use another app because what's the point if all my downloaded videos get deleted. Now my go-to app for reddit vids. Everything else I've tried it's a total crapshoot if I'll get no sound, half the frames missing, corrupted files, or just no video whatsoever. I use this app b/c it's reliable AF, though it's worth mentioning I have an older phone (S7). Huge plus is it's not limited to reddit. No YouTube, but I mostly want audio from YT so not an issue for me. My 1 caveat: I like the selectivity the saving options give me but I think the majority of people would find it tedious.

Fast and easy but a setting to choose the default save folder should be perfect! Thank you for your answer, I just bought it! But I think this settings should be free because sometimes, for Telegram, it share it as file type and not video. So, I have to move the file to another folder then share it manually.

I just want to say that huge thanks. Althoug app rating has decreased because of recent changes, app is moving is positive direction. I love the new design and all these little things like processing bar or the notification update all are pretty neat. Of course, when there's a big update in a software always it's going have some crashes and bugs, so please everyone don't discourage the developer, instead try to help him/her by providing useful feedback. You guys should be more kind.

Used to be a great app that downloaded most things with a click but it's gotten much worse over the past few weeks. Rarely downloads Instagram reels, or even Instagram regular videos. It's alright, mate. It does what it's supposed to do at the end of the day. 👍

Had to revert back to 3.0.5 due to bugs when trying to move videos somewhere else. Every time I press move selected it would hang until I press home and open it back, which would open the Android file picker as usual. And then after moving it, the Android file picker would open again and I had to press back repeatedly until it goes back to the app. It's like I had pressed the move selected button thrice as the folder I selected showed up three times. Also dark mode doesn't work anymore

It worked great. But as others have pointed out, after the recent update all your old videos are gone. This has made me question the point of apps like this, I have wasted my time downloading videos only for the app to delete it all in an instant.. Not cool.

Since the new update all downloads are gone. Also the app is broken I can't open it from the menu, it crashes. Moreover, the option to select multiple downloads to share at the same time it's gone. Please fix this app, or revert to previous version.

Edit: The after the update is a hit and miss.. same video will show you an error message and if you attempt to download it multiple times it will do the job. While it is not completely broken it is still frustrating to use the app..

It WAS a perfect app. Now, since the last update. It is unusable. It always crashes. Can't be opened, and videos cannot be accessed. Something went wrong apparently with the update. Please, fix it!

my storage is getting full. I'm not able to transfer any of my downloaded videos to my PC. Update: after I select all of them it crashes after I select move to. It is 20gigs. I can't move it with this method then. Only moving to the empty vreddit folder in download folder. I'm transferring the vids that show up in vreddit folder to pc to make space. But I remember this one time I transferred all vids easily since they showed up in vreddit folder now it is always empty.

This app is great, it's so useful and well worth the money. My only issue is sometimes I get an unknown protocol error when trying to save certain videos, I'd appreciate it if this could be looked into but I understand it could be difficult.

The audio always seems to cut off after a certain amount of time in the video despite it being completely fine in reddit. If this is cos it's free, I think that should be mentioned...

Updating review as developer resolved the previous issue with videos disappearing following an update - all were restored. New update feels much more sleek while maintaining great functionality. Perfect for sharing videos on reddit with friends. 10/10 would recommend.

Everytime I go to click on the video I shared on Viewdeo, it just days Viewdeo has stopped working and just keeps saying it. I can't share the video just from the Viewdeo home screen to where I want to send it, so I'm stuck. Not too sure if this app is a great idea...

GREAT app. I'm sure it's hard to keep up with all the different protocols and services and constant changes on reddit, but this app has been really a game changer for me. Love it. Sorry to hear so many people piling on so hard on the developer.

Thanks for this program , very useful and very easy to preview your videos and images. I like the new advertising system, more subtle, smarter. I don't usually make reviews but u deserve the people and the support

It was good, but it's just suddenly started crashing constantly, and it's a coin flip whether it'll have th audio, or about 60% of the way in it'll just drop the audio.

I keep getting error messages for certain downloads. Works fine with SFW stuff though. Downloads disappeared and I uninstalled the app and reinstalled, cause I'm cool with losing my stuff, but when I opened the app everything was there? Weird.

Hi, I've tried your app, and it gives me an error that "'reddit' might not be a link type or is not properly formed!" This happens if I share directly from reddit or if I copy the link and try to share it as text from a third party app. Hope you can fix it! (Android 7.0)

Well, I was just trying to notify you about the problem, and by saying I'll update once solve, I meant that I didn't lose hope in your work. Anyway, I updated this review to 4 (5 once solved) just to let you know that I do appreciate your work, and I'll buy the paid version as a support for you. Although I still prefer the version without storage permission.

INCREDIBLE. Fixes all the problems with V Reddit. I've used it once and it has already convinced me to go pro with the app. Everyone that is having problems just needs to learn how to follow simple instructions.

Just what I needed! This app can convert mpd Reddit files with audio to mp4 and this can be share to WhatsApp etc. What made me buy the pro version is the fact that this app also works with Instagram so it's a nice all round app to have in the arsenal so by buying the pro version I want to show support to this great developer and big thumbs up for not making this app crazy with weird permissions.

New update fixed the error that made this app worthless. The fact that the creator puts so much time and effort in this app shows how good it is. It might have issues but they are constantly getting fixed. Might get the paid version just to support the creator

Works for a while. Then starts downloading things and never finishing them. Probably not devs fault and likely changes to what the app retrieves, but this is the third time it has happened. Sorry!

I cannot download anything on Reddit anymore, fix it please

It's useless, sometimes showing error, sometimes doesn't even respond. I've used it for almost a year but after this update it's completely useless.
