VINPro VIN Decoder
Scan the VIN from the B-Pillar and VINPro will show the year, make, model, engine, drive train information and most importantly if your vehicle has open recalls for light duty cars and trucks which need to be repaired. We believe it is critical that motorists know if they have recalls, so we are providing this service for personal use for free. If you use this and find you have an open recall, PLEASE take your vehicle to your dealer and they will fix it for free. It could save your life! Please tell everyone you know!
VINPro allows you to scan two VINs per phone/tablet; you can scan these two VINs indefinitely to check for recalls. If you want to check more than two vehicles, you can optionally purchase a license for VINPro to scan unlimited VINs for $1.49 per month or for $9.99 per year.

Vehicle Info
- Year, make, model, body style, curb weight, gross vehicle weight rating (“GVWR”), fuel type, two wheel drive or all wheel drive, engine displacement, number of cylinders, transmission type.
Recalls
- Up to date open recall data for light duty cars and trucks (Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles are currently unavailable). This information is specific to the vehicle VIN entered, not generic "you may have these recalls" like some other products. If your manufacturer has issued a recall and it has yet to be performed on your vehicle this will tell you! Take your vehicle to the dealer and get the recalled issue fixed.
Information for testing on a dynamo-meter (used by repair shops and some emissions testing shops)
- Track Road Load Horsepower (TRLHP), test power and vehicle weights (ETW) for testing the vehicle on a dynamo-meter with the US EPA IM240 and ASM tests, drive axle weight, power setting for 8”, 12” and 20” dynamo-meter rolls, tire losses when tested on a dynamo-meter.
Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC) info
- Ever have your check engine light come on? Want to plug in a scan tool to it to find out what is wrong? We show you a picture and/or diagram of where the connector is under the dash, behind the ashtray, etc. so you can easily find it! (By the way

- For the techies out there, we provide the electronic communication protocol the vehicle uses to "talk" to scan tools, and which readiness monitors (systems) your vehicle supports.

Great App! Would have given it 5 stars, but Barcode Scanner doesn't work.
App works well...provides much vehicle detail and even "open" recall information.
It is a good app and has worked really well for me. It gives me all the info I need when I need to break out the VIN numbers.

I did exactly what it said for an older Vin ona 1977 4x4 pickup and hit the Go button and it said, "Invalid Vin. Vin must have 17 Characters." Vin Pro is a joke.

I downloaded this app and 8 more. This unlike the others gave me all the info I was looking for in literally less than 3 MINUTES by just putting the vin number on a RV I'm interested in purchasing. Hands Down best app to find quick info like vehicle year, make, model, engine, weight, etc... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP!

Good at providing basic built and options data, quickly. More detailed data should be obtained before purchase.
I use it nightly fot Trucks, Buses, Vehicles. Sime over twenty five years old. Works perfect with correct info 98% of the time. A+!
Paid the month fee not even 2 weeks ago and I drive a wrecker and went to look up a vehicle for work and not allowing me to wanting me to rebuy it.... not happy looking for a better app
Like the app but bar code scanner is terrible on galaxy S7. Fix that and it would be a 5
For 10 bucks a year, they tell me about recalls. All ready saved me more than 10 bucks with of time
Well not work on older version Cars
Extremely easy to use and gives every imaginable detail needed for that particular vehicle. You don't have to scan the vin #, you're able to type it in which makes it usable for folks without scanning capabilities on their cell/tablet. It literally is, a no brainer to use; extremely user friendly! Can't applaud this app enough... Kudos to the master mind and team behind this one!!!
Exceptionally detailed information and broad VIN decoding coverage! Where else are you going to get Open Recall information about YOUR SPECIFIC car? Most if not all other apps tell you it might be open for your car, but this one checks your specific car with the manufacturer. Scan or type your VIN in and this app goes directly to the manufacture and determines if your car has any actual open recalls for your VIN. Excellent.
I own a Honda Civic, and downloaded this to see if I needed airbags since the recall effects pretty much every Honda. Sure enough, I had a recall and had it fixed at my next scheduled tune-up. I got hit with a secondary recall, and mentioned it to my Honda rep. He asked if I got the paperwork in the mail. I told him no, but my App told me; I showed him the recall info and he was floored. To know about a recall before the dealer was priceless!! I only have one car, so two vehicles for free is perfectly fine.
Had an issue finding a version for my tablet, but the gentleman that responded, responded quickly and provided me with the link to the tablet version, which works great.
Awesome app, works efficiently with great details when needed. Very helpful as a tool to use of my dutys of tow truck operator. I highly recommend this app, and have recommend several other tow operators to this app
