A good ad-free and no purchases music player. The only problem I've had with it is sometimes when I open the app it will permanently change a song's title to be in kanji in the list. Not proper kanji, but each kanji corresponding to a letter in the alphabet. Makes it a little harder to decipher what the song is at a glance and trying to reach me improper kanji, but doesn't impact the file or audio quality at all.
Great fork of the old Phonograph app! Developer is generally responsive, i appreciate that they're doing this in their spare time, and being consistent about it. A while back I requested they add casting, and they did! Developer, if you're reading this:. Phonograph used to let you double-tap album art to favorite a song instead of tapping the tiny heart. Sometimes I want to favorite a song while I'm driving. Would you consider reimplementing that feature? Thanks
Great player, but there is a bug with notification: the play/pause button is always on play, even when my music is playing. And I can't drag currently playing song in "up next". I mean, it work the first time I drag it but after that it doesn't work. This problem appeared in latest updates.
May finally be what I'm looking for in a music app, but for some reason I'm unable to add songs to a custom playlist; it just remains empty no matter what I do. Still, appreciate the great UI, the fact it supports replaygain, and pretty much everything else about it.
Edit: any idea why every time I open the app after it's been closed it tries to update all my songs? love the fork but one issue I've had now for a bit is that the "up next" list messes up when using the next/previous buttons inside the app and doesn't update (the songs play with no issue). it fixes itself after a bit being outside of the app
I loved this app and would give it five stars but as of recently I can not add the majority of my songs to a playlist. This is so frustrating that I will now look for a different music app to fulfill my needs. Please let me know if this is something everyone is experiencing...I wish it is only a simple fix.
Since the latest update (1.3.0), the app has several major issues: Controls on the widget or lockscreen don't work, Bluetooth controls also don't work, the equalizer keeps adjusting itself, and at times playback pauses when you launch the app. Fix these issues, coz' this was the best music app before update 1.3.0.
It has a lot of customization features for the player and albums, but it has randomly moved songs from one artist to another, combined albums, and either will not let me edit a playlist or it will edit them on its own.
The absolutely best music player on the app store. If at first it looks a bit outdated, trust me that's not the case, just set up the color scheme in the settings and it will pop!
App is simple, beautiful and low on memory uaage. Only issue for me is the app closes when I scroll fast through the Artist's section trying to reach the bottom. Just to clarify, it's only happened with Artist's, any grid size. Doesn't happen to me with any other section.
Good player. However, technically just a fork of Phonograph that removes the in-app purchase prompt. Which seems to introduce some bugs not present in Phonograph itself. Like selecting the "Flat" appearance option crashes Vinyl, and the only way to recover after that is to reinstall or clear app data.
After latest update (1.2.0) the app keeps crashing on android 6.0. Reinstall also didn't do the trick. Please could you fix it. 5 stars if you can make it work again. Thanks. After update to 1.3.0 it works perfectly again. Thanks for fixing the app crashing in android mashmallow. 😎
This has all the benefits of Google Music and none of the drawbacks. the tag editor is a great plus as well. there are occasions where the name of the first song won't load initially, but it loads if you play the song. by far the best ad free music player!
The latest build seems to be a little... unresponsive. That, and I feel like I have to tap in very specific places for songs to play/albums to open. If my tapping is just slightly off, the app doesn't respond.
One of the best players in Google Play. There are only important things and nothing else. That's really goog! Works like a charm :) Everytime. No lugs, bugs or anything else. No freezes when you switchin' between songs. Colors are changed smoothly.
Moved from Phonograph after it started doing weird things with files. Vinyl seems great, but it seems every time I dismiss the audio player notification it comes back? I don't know if this is common, but unfortunately it's a deal-breaker for me.
I found my music player, it's simple, no ads, plays in locked screen, shows folders and has a fair amount of customisation. This is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you.
another semester project .... like music player go this thing seems to be another semester project that has unnecessarily caught on. the only thing it has going for itself is that it is open source, but beyond that... avoid installing this app. i have 1/2 million songs on my petabytes -n- petabytes sd card. and without asking me, this app decided to scan the entire freaking sd card. so the startup itself took minutes. add to that, this app cannot "browse" folders. that's a complete no-no.
Great app, one minor issue though. Even if you set the widget to be non-transparent, it will randomly switch between opaque and transparent. Minor bug in an otherwise very well made app
Brilliant and responsive. Lets me see my music how i want, good album views, easy to use and configure. Definitely one of the better apps. My preferred music player, does all i need, and simply. A +
Perfect replacement for the old Google Play music app (probably even better). Current version seems to have a bug with the 'shuffle all' button, it doesn't work in the songs list
I just love the app, it has all the features you'll expect from a music player. Plus, its ad-free and has option to save playlists. Thanks for such an awesome app! Love from India 🇮🇳
This app has everything I need in a music player app. The only bug i encountered that the seekbar doesn't work properly in notification shade in android 10. Its time & placement of songs are wrong.
Uh hey yeah for some reason whenever I play a song it only plays that song instead of playing the ones that follow after too like in an album, I kinda gotta go back into the app and press play pls fix it's annoying. Otherwise everything else is great
You know when you swipe up and see the "Up Next" list, please consider the ability to limit previously played songs to the last 5 songs or maybe disable it altogether. If the player has been playing for a while the list can get quite long before you can minimize it by scrolling down. I know you can press back to minimize or swipe down from the currently playing song at the very top but both method seems counter intuitive. Sorry if I'm nitpicking. Thank you for your fork of Phonograph.
