Virtual Villagers: Origins

I've played all the Virtual Villagers games a dozen times apiece on the computer. I was delighted to find them for my phone. But while I've finished this game, I have zero interest in playing it again - the game is fine, the mechanics mostly work (though not being able to change people's names is annoying!), but the ads are unsupportable. I'm perfectly willing to watch ads to get a bonus, but uncontrollable, undismissable, 30-second-long videos that pop up randomly over the playing field - NO.

It crashes a lot, for me, at random and after any ads. (And has been the only app Ive had to do so.) Other than, its one of those games that are perfect to play when you get free time in the bathroom, and can (and probably should) be ignored in between bathroom trips since things in the game do take time to progress and complete, and are quick and easy to get started.

It's a pretty good game, there's challenges and achievements but the problem I found is that the technologies are so expensive. It's really slow for the researcher to reach more than 10,000. I think an update would make it much better if you fix the experience points and how you can earn them when you find rare plants or complete an achievement. It'll also be better if you can trade experience points with something a villager has found or something. I only got the game today btw.

It is good to have Virtual Villagers on mobile. However, it is more boring than the PC versions I have played. The puzzles are good, but the graphics are unrefined and some game elements were not implemented (collections). I used to spend a lot of time just collecting some stuff but this version would just require me to issue orders, close the game, then check in. I don't feel like I'm playing a game at all if I'm just waiting all the time.

I have played this game way back when i was.. 8? Now, 9 yrs later i found the game again (a mobile version at that) and am absolutely enjoying it since i can play it anytime and anywhere (i used to play it on our computer before). To those who are struggling with the puzzles, you can always search on the internet how to solve them. However, if you wanna solve it all on your own, suit yourself.

I enjoyed the game because it brought back my childhood memories. however, the enjoyment only lasted ONE DAY. there were a lot of ads that suddenly pop up when I am in the middle of doing something in the game. i know this is a free app but the ads should not interrupt the game like every 5-10 mins. plus, there is no way to close them. got to uninstall this game.

I've been obsessed with this game since i was a little kid!! I was so excited to find it in app form! The updated the character designs are really cute but it's the same classic sim/survival/puzzle set up that I know and love. Plus now you can watch videos for bonuses! Definitely give it a try if you remember it from PC or if you just like simulation games. It's very addictive!

Great game !! I have played Virtual Villagers 1, 2 & 3 on pc back in the days. It used be more fun then. But nevertheless I like this one as well. But the game crashes multiple times on my phone. My phone supports more demanding games easily and its a new set so I suppose it is a bug in this specific game app. Hope the developers look into this issue. Regards and Best.

I actually enjoy the game, but the pop-up advertisements often buffer to the point that I have to close the game and reopen it multiple times. I sometimes give up on playing for hours because I've already tried and failed to open the game and get past the opening ad dozens of times. I understand the purpose of advertisements in free games and am more than willing to watch ads to play this game for free, but they glitch so often it severely impacts my enjoyment of a game I loved as a child.

I really love this game! A while ago my sister showed me Virtual Families 2, and I loved it. And a few months ago she showed me this, and I actually love this even more! I beat all the puzzles and even started over. My only complaint is that there are pop-up ads on the screen that you can't close until they're over, and your game still goes on. This could be very inconvenient sometimes.

Its still an enjoyable but slow game. Makes a better screen saver than a game. recommend using the highest speed setting, which is still very slow. How about NOT interrupting my game play??? It's super annoying that every 15 to 30 minutes my game is stopped so I can answer the ??, do I want to go to FB to talk to other game players? I can click on the Game Menu and then click on the FB icon if I wish to that site. Pushing FB at every turn is why I stopped using Facebook in the first place.

Really nostalgic as someone that used to play this on pc, the monetization doesn't really affect anything too and it's not that grindy. The only downside is that there's barely anything to do and food is never becoming a problem, it shouldn't even existed. But overal a pretty decent nostalgic trip. Looking forward to play the 2nd game

Years ago my mom had this on her iPad, and I found it again! Looks mostly the same, except for zoom-in feature, plus they look more 3D. Enjoying it at lot so far. It's great it can run while my phone is off, so I can do homejerk while it plays itself. Which my mom said it didn't do before. She deleted it 'cause it was addictive for her lol. :) Also, thankfully, it doesn't need Wi-Fi to run!

Love the game and get huge nostalgic vibes when playing however this feeling is soon lost when an advertisement pops up on screen and prevents you from doing anything. I do not mind Ads especially if it means we get to play the app for free but when it interferes with playing i think it's a terrible idea.

I love playing this game and building up every person and doing the puzzles and task . I love that I can play at my own pase and spend time with each person building up each one and watch each grow. But I do have a little trouble at some of the puzzles and task I still have a long way to go but it's fun to play.

By far one of the best casual games I have ever played upon my phone. I really like the concept of guiding your individual villagers to success and watch them grow their skillsets. The options make the game very flexible for you to play which ever way you fancy. The island events also keep things interesting.

It has intrusive ads, full screen and enough to be pretty annoying that go on for ages. it is detrimental to the game as this is the type you check up on quick. Unless you spend 10 quid or so on tech points gameplay relies heavily on grinding for hours at the research bench, which is tedious as it likes to frequently pause the game for 'island events'.

I paid for the 100,000 tech points upgrade. The money was debited from my account but the tech points were not credited to my account. Google Play only shows the transaction to be denied. But my upi application shows that the amount was successfully credited to your account and your bank has confirmed the receipt of the payment as well. Please address my grievance as soon as you can. I have sufficient screenshots and data as proof.

the game is good but for real, it will take weeks or even a month to progress, gathering 100k tech points for single aspect of the game, puts the entire gameplay on idle or even stagnant which makes your players just bored about it but if you want to progress quickly buy some tech points from them. Please take it into consideration that alot of the players will go bored on a slow pace game. the graphics can be improve. controls are okay.

I've got a suggestion - my phone isn't the biggest and it doesn't help that the menu and bottom take up about 3/4 of the screen, so I don't have too much screen space left to actually enjoy the game. If there could be a way for you guys to have a way to 'hide' the menu and the points, that'd be great. I remember loving to play this game as a kid, but what happened to the Tree of Life one? I really wish I could play that... but I can't find it anywhere to play, which really bums me out.

FIX NEEDED!!! i love love love this game but im writing this review to bring awareness to the unclosable ads im being bombarded with today. i cannot use the BONUS because the ad that you watch to pick a bonus option will not close and has no option to close it. and the ads that show up randomly also cannot be closed. you have to close and reopen the whole game and that cancels the BONUS process. DEVS PLS FIX!!

This game is wonderful, try it! I really love virtual villagers. Last day of work makes super fun games that are unlike any others. I enjoy casual sim games and virtual villagers is an amazing game of this genre. I love the graphics, they're perfect. The puzzles are hard enough to actually make you think a little! I love checking in on my little people and taking care of them. One I'm finished with this one I'm going to play virtual villagers 2. Thank you for this amazing game!
