I'm rating this 2 star because the game crashes like every 3 mins inside the game. I hope you'll fix this. Coz this game is fun like virtual villagers origins.

Started playing this because of nostalgia for the original. This version is ROUGH. It crashes often in the middle of a session so you lose your progress. It is riddled with ads to complete basic functions (if you craft anything, you have to watch a spammy ad before you can gather your materials). This game is a cash grab. You can make money from apps without forcing players to pay for things or watch ads to complete base functions of the game. Yikes, y'all.

I use to play this game, a very long time ago on my iPad. I completed the entire series and loved all of them. Idk if it is the new Lavastone feature or if it is because it is on a different platform but it is nearly impossible for me to collect the things in the Crafting Hut. After waiting 48 hours for something to finish and then not being able to collect it is frustrating.

The game was fun and interesting to play at first, after you upgrade the technologies once or twice, the game cannot be played. Crashes every time before you get pass the login screen. So you cant check up on your villagers any more. I noticed many people have the same bug but the developers havent fixed it at all. Don't bother starting to play

Garbage compared to previous Virtual Villagers games. It's just another pay-to-play with too many ads. The most infuriating part is that when the game loads up, a little tornado appears on the beach. I go to get a villager to gather resources, but an event interrupts me and I can't get rid of the event message before the tornado disappears, and that's the only tornado for several hours. I would think it would be easy to turn existing PC games into mobile games, copy and paste. Guess not.

I had to delete my original positive review. After playing halfway through the second chapter the game froze on me. I've deleted and reinstalled it three times, force stopped it. Etc. Without result. Prior to this it froze up periodically and would frequently "lose" things I'd crafted but it always restarted. Now the app won't even open. Very disappointed.

Update: It appears neither of my original reviews posted. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that turning off my wifi and running the game off my mobile data got it to work! Very happy that it's working now and I would recommend this fix to anyone that may have less than stellar internet connection like I currently do. I'm a big fan of LDW games and especially the Virtual Villagers series so I'm very happy to see the game working!

Dont waste your time. Reached out because the game stopped opening after 3 weeks of gameplay. Was repeatedly told the issue was on my end and that i just needed to "try uninstalling and reinstalling the game." As if that wasnt the first thing i tried. The game wont open past the title screen no matter how many times its uninstalled. Trash. Im definitely not the first one with this issue either..

I love this game, have played Virtual Villagers games for years. This one seems particularly bad with ads and ridiculously slow to make good progress when you get further into the game. If there was an option to speed up the time to twice as fast, like there has been in previous versions, I would give it 5 stars, but when it takes several days or even weeks to earn enough tech points to progress to the next stage it is not enjoyable. Tech support are fantastic with response to any issues though!

When you open the game for the first time, it seems ad free and watching ads becomes your choice, which is great. Now, deeper into the game, I get an unskippable 30 second ad every time I open the game, no exceptions. Ads are everywhere now. It stops my enjoyment of the game a lot. The gameplay is fine for the most part. There's a crafting system introduced in this game so now you need to think about resources and crafting time. It's fun at first but gets irritating after a while.

Honestly, I like the game. But it's beyond frustrating when I'm doing something in game and then suddenly the screen jumps to somewhere else on the map and it forces me to drop the villager. It is also infuriating that any time I try to collect something I've crafted, it just freezes on that screen with the saving thing in the top right corner forever and ever turning. Now I'm completely unable to collect anything I've crafted, also making it to where I can no longer craft, that's not helpful.

Pretty good game. Not a huge fan of the new "lavastones," but easy to obtain through ads. I don't seem to have as much of an issue with excessive ads as others, seems pretty tame. The island is pretty cluttered and there's a whole lot to take in, and research points are earned very slowly for how much the tech upgrades cost... otherwise, a good virtual villagers game, if a bit different from the older ones.

Hi! Me again. I don't know how else to say this, but it's getting annoying. More than once when I put two items to craft, (different items; different times) I go, either when it sends me a notification that it's completed or otherwise, the basket says empty. Recently, I waited 8 hours to make something, got a notification that it was completed, empty basket. And it's not the first time! Just a little bug I'd like dealt with, for me and future players.

I love this game so much but I have a few complaints. First off, the number of tech point required for research compared to how fast you earn them is ridiculous. Second, I accidentally crafted magic and wheat grass and couldn't cancel it so I had to wait until I could get more magic to complete what I was trying to do. Third, in the first vv origins game, you could buy island events and speed up time with tech points but in this game I can't find a spot to do that. But I still love playing!

Bit nostalgic of the original VV2, and if you're patient, you don't have to pay-to-play, which I like. Once you get your village up & running, it's just checking back in for combinations to solve puzzles. The ads randomly pop up during game play, so if your villager was doing a specific task with a crafted item, you lose that crafted item, which is annoying--you then have to go through the time consuming task of recreating the item. Otherwise, recommended.

I used to play these games as a kid and loved them. Initially I was looking forward to the new changes, but it feels like it takes ages to get anything accomplished & I'm constantly looking at guides to figure out how to do anything. Advancing research hardly seems to make a difference in how may tech points you earn, and crafting takes forever. There's also a glitch that sometimes causes my crafted items to completely disappear! It's incredibly irritating to wait 8+ hrs for it to just vanish.

Your ads are sooooo annoying! They pop out anytime and anywhere without pausing the game!!! I hate it especially when I'm in a middle of acquiring something and all of a sudden, the game gets cut off by the ads. And then when I return to the game, the character I'm using is already off to another task. I understand you need ads and I would watch them when I'm prepared. Plus, the game lags. ====== Update: Thanks for responding. Game still has lots of bugs - won't purchase it yet.

I wrote a previous review, but can't find it to edit it. I enjoy this game, but things that would make it better include: shorter wait time on crafting (under 30 min would be great), a steady increase in tech upgrades instead of the exponential increase with each upgrade, and most importantly, if I assign a role to a villager, that they stick with that role until mastered.

Ama. S. Jun 27, 2020

This version of vurtual villagers, is much more complex than the last ones i've played. Only thing I would suggest as helpful, would be to lessen the cost for lavastones. I am willing to buy them to speed up gameplay, however the amount used to speed up crafting is high. Or possibly speed up crafting by a few hours? Almost everything has three steps or more to progress, and having to wait 8 to 10 hours every milestone is slow. But overall love the game and I am excited for part two. Thanks!

It's alright. I just wish that the costs to buy things with tech points is a lot. It's such a hassle to wait forever to earn tech points and then spend them on one upgrade. The puzzles are okay and it keeps me wanting to play more. So please lower the costs to upgrade because I want to complete puzzles a bit quicker and progress to the next chapter.

This is a great game, especially if you grew up playing the older Virtual Villagers like I did. It stays true to the old style, with some interesting new features like crafting. That said, the pacing feels slow at times. With so many crafting components it can take a while to find the combinations you need, and geting tech points takes forever. It also would've been better if there was a way to train healers besides waiting for a villager to get sick, like the "medical cactus" of the first game.
