Last updated March 2020. There is NO Update. Has not solved connectivity issues. I contacted them multiple times. No solutions offered that work . I have unsubscribed. I paid for a 2nd year in August 2021. The problems started immediately. The VPN constantly disconnects. Previously, it worked fine. This is a Tech Company without solutions. I cannot recommend this company.
I've had them for about a year ( paid for two years ) I started to notice I needed to jump around from city to city three or four times for the VPN to fully engage, last Autumn. Most of the time it worked. However in December I knew I was visible whether I jumped, or not and there was trouble connecting at all. I haven't been able to connect for almost a week now. When I am connected, websites I visit are able to block me from using them. Contacting them does 0.
Excellent. Does what it says easily and has excellent tech support. I had one issue with a connection once. Apparently a bug in an update. I wrote them and they replied very quickly stating they were working on a fix, and less than 24 hours later they had a fix out. In the meantime, they told me how to solve the issue so I wasn't without a VPN. Highly recommend.
Not worth the price. I liked the service when I first got it, but the service is getting worse by the day. If you disconnect at all from the service good luck getting back on. Both from my phone and tablet it takes at times more than five minutes to connect to the service. Most of the time I have to either sign out and sign back in or uninstall the app and reinstall to get to work. Then while you do have it on it slows down your internet speeds. There are times when I watching videos and it's constantly buffering, but when I turn off the service the buffering stops, but now I'm back to not being able to connect.
I like Virtual Shield and yes I did have a problem with the update, however, I did contact their technical support team about the problem and I was I was impressed with the responses, support, and follow-up from them to get the issue resolved. That is important to me, and I would definitely recommend Virtual Shield to anyone looking to use a VPN.
I have recently signed up with this product. I understand that there is a Verity of services out there and that this service does not rate in the top VPN providers. Yet there response time is exceptional and have detailed response. So far I haven't had any dramas with it. I know that there isn't a wide option for region/country changes compared to other companies. Yet They did say there will be further updates and I will get an email when this happens. Too often the VPN will not engage (connect, or stay connected). Or, it connects, then abruptly disconnects. It works well on the phone, but NOT on the laptop. I have had the service for 1 1/2 years, and most of that time have not had protection on my laptop. So frustratingf.
Virtual Shield goes beyond the call of duty. A problem arose and their technicians were quick to find the issue and fix. They took care of me. They stayed in continual contact to make sure I'm protected throughout the issue being fixed. Thank you Tom and all the other techs who had their hands involved. You all did a spectacular job.
App is buggy, consumes INSANE amount of batterylife unlike Nord and others on the phone. Almost always gets stuck on "Automatic" connect and you have to manually select a new server and some won't work regardless. Kill switch is buggy and unreliable which makes you question the entire service. Terrible linux experience even they claim "works on most Debian based OS" in my experience, worked once w/dpkg errors Browser extension is surprisingly good but it's just for the browser not the full OS.
I've been using VirtualShield for nearly 3 years. It's quite easy to use, I'm not sure what all these 1-star reviews are on about. The biggest inconvenience I've experienced, is when it tries to connect before I've connected to my internet and it forces me to have to re-log-in.
Stay away!! This app is useless. Just as useless as the customer service. The app doesn't connect at all. Then customer service is chat only for troubleshooting. Billing? Forget about it. They open a ticket and send you an email saying they'll get back to you as soon as possible. I prepaid for 2 years and now will have to fight to get my money back. If not I will chargeback my credit card.
This app has been broken and unusable on my Android device since the Jan 10th "update", if this company can't even update an app properly how can they build a service that actually works, I no longer trust this service and I recommend that you don't either. *edit; this service has been buggy and unreliable 3 months later since the Jan 10th update, everything you open the app it informs you in 1 second that there's an update available, and if you manage to click it there is no update at all.
I'm not sure what's going on but the app is no longer working. I tried to open it and it keeps saying there's a new update, but when it goes to the app it's the same one and I can't log into my account. Please fix this since I use this exclusively for my smartphone. Update: they fixed the issue and everything works well, thank you.
Having problems initiating, getting error message "ap stopped", I restart, then error message "close ap", after 2-3x of this finally opens, with "updated" box? Does not open automatically like it used to. I LOVED THE APP otherwise. Been member for 4 years. Cant seem to resolve. V.T. TX
Not sure where the complaints in the past week are coming from. I contacted VirtualShield and within 6 hrs I received an email reply with a process to uninstall the latest update and reinstall the previous version. And within 5mins my VPN is working again. Also, 4 months ago I was blindsided with a full paid renewal of a full subscription that came off a much discounted trial period. I contacted them and they happily negotiated a refund to a lower level of subscription. Happy customer here.
Continually had issues connecting. The company does not know how to execute an upgrade without adversely affecting customer's use of the service. They avoid contacts that want to cancel their subscription. I have been chasing them for over 3 weeks to cancel and cannot get a response from billing which has no direct contact path. Contacting them is via chat, which is tech support only or an email form that is not responded to.
Absolutely awful! It crashes my computer any time I try to use it, and, on top of that, I selected non-active renewal on their website, but it still renewed, and they took $233 out of my account. I was charged for a faulty product, and their response was "too bad". Terrible product; even worse company.
I am trying to update my password per your request and it will not allow me to. As additional info, I have not been able to use this app on this Chromebook for over a year. Pretty frustrating. I can use it on my Android tablet and Android phone just not this Chromebook. If I had not paid up for 2 years in advance, I would have changed companies due to this .
Since it updated today, it's not working. PLEASE FIX NOW OR I WILL USE SOMEONE ELSE!!!! UPDATE: the team at VS quickly resolved my issue. I appreciate them for doing this! My bad for not updating sooner. I only have 2 complaints. It never saves my fav sites to use. It hasn't from day 1. I also wish that you guys could save my email address and password so that I don't have to enter it in every time I start it. Other than that I love having it.
Excellent VPN working great as usual! Microsoft Windows, appears to be resisting ALL apps outside Microsoft store, now. Had to change settings on my Windows 10 Pro... ( not Windows 10 S), to get the update of VS to function, (again because of Windows resistance, NOT VS app. After changing settings, VS worked/works great)! Windows 11 & 10S, now required, to HAVE to: use Microsoft browser Edge, & ONLY apps from their store... Whats with that Microsoft?
Was okay at first. Too many sites did not want to work when the Shield was on, so I barely used it. Have sent in about 4 email requests to cancel my account. They still took a payment, then emailed to let me know "they'll get back to me" type bs. Do NOT give them your money. They think its okay to keep taking it even after cancelling the service. Edit: Its been about 5 or 6 emails I've sent, getting ignored, and they took a second payment I did not consent to.
If you're having problems after resetting your password do to their most current update, try this it worked for me. Uninstall the app, restart device, re-install app and then try your new password. Hope this helps. The reason for the 4 is I figured this out on my own after chatting with them on-line which was of very little help.
I was a bit rough on VirtualShield yesterday. I didn't realize there was a major update going on at the time. The problem of VS shutting down without me knowing it has been a problem. This happens on Android. PC under Linux or W10 seem fine.
The best VPN out there. And I have read a lot of critical remarks that could have easily been taken care of with simple computer concepts and a better understanding of their phone's settings. It's interesting that people blame Virtual Shield for their lack of following simple p.c. protocols.
Hello that $407 is not correct. I had a special discount through X22 of $2.50 per month for individuals and extras which total $16.00 per month plus first month free. All the Patriots will be notified if this discount through X22 is not honor. As for me I also request to Cancelled my subscription on Jan 9,2022. I didn't want this services at all. Re: Jan 10th Update: When I start the app, the page shows for 1 sec, that there's an update available, but it's so fast, I can't click, cos it straight goes to the 'connection' page. The appstore doesn't show any update availability, Deinstalled the app and downloaded it again, but it's still happening. So I don't know if the update has already happened or it's about to ..🤷. Other than that, absolutely satisfied since nearly 2 yrs. 👍😊
