The customer service is truly awful! Was once left waiting for over an hour in the cold to get a car. Agents seem to give whatever answer they want rather than trying to help. Paid £85 for a £30 bus lane ticket which I could've overturned had I been informed in time, took two months to be told about the ticket. Nice, but expensive cars which are not always clean. The concept is good the execution is anything but that. I would advise looking locally or for a rental with better customer service.
Horrible app. Keeps crashing. I want to book but I'm still not able to take a selfie in the verification step because the app just starts sending something and then it crashes. If I want to add a selfie to the profile the app also crashes and I get a system message saying that the app has a bug and I should try to clear its cache. I'm on Galaxy S22 ultra. There is no support in the app either. How can I send you the scan of my license and ID and selfie so I can use it?
Buggy beyond belief (on Pixel 6 phone) Damage reporting feature didn't load for 10 minutes (you have 15 mins from first unlock to report) have to continuously force close app to work key (to open / lock car), couldn't extend booking due to an issue with govirtuo payment, just to name a few. Please sack your Dev team and start again. I'm looking forward to getting my analogue car back, technology has made things far worse.
I don't know about the app, but the service is horrendous. Cancelled my booking for no reason, can't validate my license, customer support is appalling. Kindergarten operation.
Today Virtuo locked my account, terminate my contract with them and pick up the car I booked for a month without any reason. STAY AWAY!
excellent service. drop off and pick up at home. good cars. good price
Edit: changed to 4 stars, their friendly support staff got back to me about my licence. Haven't had a chance to hire a car yet, but will update the review once do. Original review below Good UI, but I can't actually rent at the moment. I just renewed my driver's license this year and the validation process uses the date of issue (which in this case is the date of renewal) for the 1-year requirement. I tried to go through help to contact support but that goes to a blank page. UX could be better.
Great idea and really nice cars... BUT... The app is really poor and not intuitive at all. ALSO... there's some very odd thing going on with having to estimate and pre-pay for mileage over the rental allowance which means having to plot your route on Google maps and then try and predict where exactly you are going to drive while you have the car and stick to it. Doesn't appear to be any suggestion of a refund if you pre-pay for more miles than you actually use either but there is a penalty if you use more of course. It's the only thing that spoils the otherwise great simplicity of the idea... Well, that and the poor App
So simple and effective. The app is straightforward to navigate, any and all charges are clear and transparent and the customer service is excellent. Yes it might not be cheaper than other hire car services on sticker price but the cars are immaculate and a significant step up versus your average, it is still fantastic value when you consider the ease and the quality. Keep it up Virtuo, you have a new convert.
The layout of the app is good and all functions work brilliantly. However what makes this app unusable and forces me to delete the app is that when I'm not using it, the app keeps force opening multiple times, like every few seconds, interrupting whatever I'm doing. This happens even when I force close the app. This is very annoying!! Please fix this
Whilst the booking process itself wasn't 100% smooth as the app on my mobile malfunctioned a few times (but I managed to book it via my laptop), it was really pain-free to get the car itself. Instead of having to wait in line for a customer representative to take you to the car and walk you through the entire process, this was efficient and effective. Plus I love that Virtuo cars are automatic, comfortable and in great condition!
I was lucky enough to get a vehicle during covid-19 and am very grateful to virtuo for it! The app did have some technical difficulties and on more than one occasion I needed to call a few times for them to remotely lock/unlock if the app wasn't connecting. Great service and company, the app could have been smoother!
Great Mercedes A Class car, great drive and amazing integration with my Android phone; note: the car doesn't have USB C cable, only Micro USB and Apple Lightning, but I brought my own. The app worked well to manage the car during the time of the rental. Was sent good sms reminders and pick-up/return information as well. Could add 2nd driver for free. BUT: hefty £39 charge when I had to bring forward the start time by 75 minutes to accommodate a change of timings for the event I had to get to.
Really avoid! 😤 The car was booked for 2-3 months and only 3 hours before arriving to destination (there were 2 hours of flight in the middle), they decided to "review" the account and concluded there were some security issues with it. So they closed my account and I found myself having to book a car last minute... I contacted the support but they're all bots, impossible to speak with someone! After some days, they refunded everything minus 50 euros... Nice thieves! 💸
Good, transparent and easy - except that I didn't have data and roaming coverage on my mobile so didn't receive the notifications with the directions for returning the car (for finding the reserved Virtuo parking places etc). Tried to find this on the app beforehand when I had connection but could not find anything. Might be good to make this information available offline in the app or offer an option to send the directions by other means as well. These are crucial info and without them we got anxious and worried about how to return the car. We left the car in a common parking spot otherwise we'd miss our train, but when got internet connection we made Virtuo aware and all were easily resolved via app.
It is alright. I had an issue: the door didnt lock after I delivered the car (I tried several times, uninstalled and installed the app again). Lucky that one Virtuo's contractor was working on the car beside mine, and he called Virtuo and they fixed it. Can't imagine what would happen if instead of 7pm it was 2 am. Also, I got charged £27 for extra mileage (over 150 miles). I would not recommend it for long trips. Nothing serious to complain, but not over the moon with it
Unusable. Spent 3 days trying to rent a car, nothing work (payment refused with 3 cards, tried on 2 phones, 2 computers, etc etc). They use something called "3d secure" that American banks don't support. Email support is useless and doesn't even read your message (someone just copy and paste automated answers). Worse experience I have seen just to rent a car. I can't imagine if you have any problem when you succeed to rent one. Run away! Account deleted, app uninstalled.
Horrible user experience. My paiement is validated then they give me my money back, no idea why I cannot reserve there is no information and it is literally impossible to contact the support, the is only a faq, nothing else
It's literally the worst app to rent. I wasted half my day to find out to get approval for my license and once I did they said I can't book it. It's a waste of time. It's better to book from other sites.
Worst experience ever. My account is refused for god knows what reason. After taking my credit card number and all my personal info. My photo, driving license and national ID. TRASH APP DO NOT USE
Simple, easy to use and very convenient. Customer service team is very helpful, friendly and responsive. The licence checks and booking process is pretty straight forward. Great app. Great car (GLA) in good condition. Minor scruffs already logged so nothing to worry about if you drive well!
multiple problems with vehicles And a silly app update and outrageous app keeps crashing. Plus they don't do a thorough check on the vehicle maintenance it's all good for the vehicle to look nice from the outside but I had to change 3 cars due to one of them having an engine management light on and the other one had a loud noise coming from the dashboard and the third one I had to drive illegal because it had a massive bulge in the tyre. The truth is it's convenient for 1to 2 days for emergency
New concept, super easy will use again
As a car rental service they are great. No issues with the actual car, pickup, pricing etc. What completely lets this company down, and will likely tank this business in the not too distant future, is the app, which is a complete piece of garbage - crashing multiple times, not accepting information and buttons just simply not working. Wouldn't be the end of the world if you didn't have to USE THE APP TO START THE CAR. Needs to be fixed ASAP
After 2 rentals: Good cars. Booking is easy. Prices are premium but ok. 2 big letdowns in both cases: 1/ The damn car key can't start the car. Gosh it is infuriating. The car says that the key is missing or to put it in a place that we did hundred times. You need to start the car right when it opens, if you're lucky, it works. I wish we just had a normal key. 2/ the gare du Nord is impossible to get your car unless you get in with a resident. The interphone doesn't work! Also hard to get in/out
