It's a awesone start, needs to have a few features added especially the ones that are implied but not actually implemented yet; like the ability to go straight to the report URL in a your default browser when you tap on the notification saying that a file you submitted has finished being scanned , instead of just taking you back to the app page. or at least have a tap to copy version of the report URL on the app page so you can paste it into a browser yourself. really great though!!!

I love Virustotal, been using the website for years. The site has always worked wonderfully so I was excited to see they have an app, but it doesn't work very well at all. Mainly, whenever I attempt to view a report for either a file or a URL, the app crashes. From what I can tell you get one chance to view a report via a notification that pops up, if you click it and it falls, you're S.O.L. I recommend strictly using the website and avoiding the app all together. App needs a complete overhaul

Very simple, to the point, no fancy bells or whistles to distract you. As stated in the description above its not an ideal real time protection application. It is, without a question, definently a must have secondary defense tool. With analysis data from trusted sources to support its findings this is definently the second/third/fourth opinion you've been looking for!

it does not work well on cheap tv box's, I have a A95X max. It does not understand that I am using a Ethernet connection, keeps saying that I have no internet connection. just as soon as I disconect Ethernet and connect by wifi it finds my internet connection. It does not want to rescan, the only way I can get it to scan is by deleting the cache and the data for the program, It has a problem with uploading unknown programs.

Pretty poor behaviour. No progress indicator while scanning, so not clear if stalled. When the scanned apps list is returned unidentified apps are listed at the very bottom of the list, I would expect those to be at the top. When submitting an app for review, a permanent notification is put on top of all other apps, and constantly fires the notification sound/vibration. Swiping the notification away doesn't work as the upload progress seems to constantly post new notifications permanently.

Best detection I've ever seen! I've used countless antivirus apps over the years and this is WAY more useful! Ended up uninstalling a flagged app after my first scan! There's no more hogging up background resources, no more "pro" pings and no more forcing ads on you! 😎 Also, please read the description people! "Please note that virustotal for Android does not provide real-time protection and, so, is no substitute for any antivirus product, just a second opinion regarding your apps."

All virustotal's essential features in one app! That is simply wonderful! But it would be really useful if the app could actually let you access virustotal's full report on APKs you sent for analysis. Because, even if an APK in itself is clean, its relations, like URLs or internet domains with which the app communicates, could possibly be infected.

Would be great if it worked. Apparently major issues with permission settings do not allow file scanning of any kind. "We had problems obtaining data from the file". Pretty disappointed in that it works well for apps. Not being able to scan files is a deal breaker.

Interface doesn't want to work But then, I am tech illiterate. I know that I used to have the settings it asks permission for but, now I can't seem to find I no longer have notification access or overdraw access. My phone gave, "Uses to much battery" as the reason I no longer have those features I just don't know.

Great for finding dubious apps. The only thing: it claims it can also scan URL's. After uploading URL, it says "report available". Where is that report??? (Could not find it.) Update: now the URL report is available, therefore I would recommend that everybody uses this app. (Might require increasing the capacity of the VirusTotal servers, but I think it's worth doing.)

How do one turn on dark mode, it's nowhere when you go the setting. Update: my phone does not have dark mode but I remember when the new version adding dark mode came out, I immediately updated and to my surprise it opens in black mode and I was so happy. But I dont remember when this started but it went to white background once again. Appreciate if there is a dedicated on and off from the app setting itself. And thanks for responding so quick. This appears to be a hash check only; as apps that haven't been uploaded to VT show up as a question mark. The trouble starts when you try to upload said apps: it locks up your phone UI and the only way out of it is to reboot the phone. Disappointing functionality & unstable. 2 stars.

Nice! A good addition to the toolbox to check for problematic apps. (Tip: to upload an "unknown" grey app for checking; tap the app item to open a detail page, and there tap the bottom red icon. The result takes time, as the file must then be presented by the VirusTotal site to the 60 or so other sites for scanning. Come back later.)

So far it's not really proven to be much more than a burden as it keeps hijacking my browser, causing any web browser use to be blocked. I uninstalled the app just to make sure, installing it again causes an error message giving me the choice to send the url for review, go back or close. Google Play Scan which is available on all Play Store enabled phones does everything this app claims. I rated a 2 because it was mentioned as an alternative option for those interested in ditching Google.

When you install this app you can no longer click any links to Amazon, they will switch you out of your browser and into Virustotal which just gives an unknown safety rating for your Amazon URL. I have some apk files in my downloads folder I want to scan but can't find any way to upload them using the app. Suggest using the website instead of this abandoned alpha product.

Trouble with uploads. Specifically, the app sometimes decides that, if something is taking a while to upload, it will just start again. I've had the same app being uploaded 3 times simultaneously. It's ridiculous.

Much like the namesake website. i love the ability to send apps up the the database for inspection. the only issue is sometimes it doesn't come back. and there is no rescan option. still 5 stars.
