The scale search interface offers many cues as to the notes that are being searched on and just how much of a match each scale is.
Visual Guitar Scales makes for a great writers reference. Wrote a riff but can't figure out where to go from there? Riff Filter allows you to play a riff on the fretboard and VGS will tell you which scale you played in so you can keep on writing!

To begin with I was in two minds about installing this . But it's must have if you are a guitar player of any level no ads at all ! simple to use choose any scale set it and it's all there plus you can turn on or off show all key's . Also highlighted root notes you can't go wrong with this app . This app I originally gave 5* but it seems to stick for some reason . I've had to uninstall and reinstall it a few times now so it lost 2*
I can't buy the premium version, it always said payment declined. The free version is quite good. I really appreciate the option to mark several notes and see what scales may apply. Since I don't know much music theory, it helps me to find suitable notes without spending much time testing.
When I first got it, it was great. The last week or two it's taken ages to load, if it loads at all, and even then when you set a scale, the visualise doesn't appear. Would be 5 stars of it worked.
Well rounded. Covers scales with both sound and visual. Has more info than a standard player will ever use. Fast tool for fret composition. Easy too use.
This is a great app, I'm giving it 3 stars because the in app payment is broken and I can't upgrade to premium.
Loads of scales and modes... Add they sound when tap them. Loving it.
Useless , can't change the scale on screen , stays in C major continuously

Got the premium version without second thoughts. Still, would be cool to have more than 12 strings per neck (and maybe more than one neck for the tablet version) - for us nerds. Otherwise the app is quite helpful and makes me compose more. Maybe we could have patch select too? (Even General Midi patches would definitely work, but if you can do something in the key of MorphWiz or Oval Synth - that'd be much better). Can the app please send midi data to external devices?

Best app for scales and fretboard work. Can change number of strings and tuning. Has a ton of obscure scales but the filter makes it easy to find the one you want
Outstanding app to visualize each scale... simply the best app to study scales alone.
Technically its the best app as it has almost all scales with tabs easy to learn
I would have given this a better rating but how can I rate it fully when I can't even buy the upgrade... how do you pay to upgrade the app.i have looked and touched everything and no link to upgrade...... Let me know how I will spend the$1:99 to see what it can fully do..... HELP

I love this app because you can create your own virtual stringed instruments. Being able to custom name them and up to 12 strings ! With each string tuned to any pitch you want. This is the only app I have found that does all of this. For some reason this app is hard to find at the play store. In fact I thought it was discontinued. And I only had it on 1 device. I am grateful to have found it again. I don't think there are ads, I've never seen one.
