Visual Schedule

The Visual Schedule app is aimed at helping parents and special education professionals working with children with special needs, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Delays, and genetic syndromes, as well as children with learning disabilities, working memory deficits, ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder), behavior difficulties and more. The app can also be successfully used with older adults suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Dementia, Alzheimer, or other diseases affecting memory, learning or the ability to function successfully in a daily environment.Visual Schedule allows for the creation of a visual schedule to support with transition times during the day, such as a first then schedule list supported with pictures of the daily activities (e.g., wake up, make your bed, brush your teeth, eat breakfast, get backpack, go to school). It could also be used to illustrate a sequence of steps required to complete a more complex task (for example, pictures labeled with a short word or phrase can be used in sequence to teach the child how to brush his teeth, plant a seed, do simple chores around the house or activities at school, or even more complex tasks, such as accessing a computer, using the remote control to watch TV, using household appliances or work related tasks). A visual schedule is a significant part of supporting the learning of children and adults with learning difficulties. It supports defining and setting tasks expectations, helps to clarify for the child or adult the intent and amount of effort required to complete the task as well as provides a constant reminder of the sub-steps to be done in order to achieve successful task completion.

No mention of only 3 edits and then you had to buy it! Grr!

UPDATE: The developer refunded my purchase price the same day. Many thanks to them. REVIEW: Editing is awkward. I was unable to insert or rearrange items in a minischedule. Sharing a pdf via email didn't work (no PDF attached to email!). Worse yet, Google Play denied a refund of the $3.49 purchase price, despite my requesting the refund within less than an hour of purchase. I uninstalled the app, re-downloaded, and now all I have access to is the free version; I can't even use the limited functionality I paid for in the first place! I've written to the developer to request a direct refund, and will update this review with their response.

You can only make three schedules with the free version, and it says nothing about this until you've already made your three. Really sleazy.

The menu is a pain to use, and it saves all the images in your gallery 3 times. If you delete the extra ones, it removes the image from the schedule. Overall, clunky and hard to use.

PDF doesn't come out clear which would have been perfect for my autistic son who can't read to help him through school

Until I purchased upgrade it worked OK... Afterwards, it messed up all my pictures folders. Aside from adding and triplicating all the preexisting schedules photos. Awful!

A poor stab at what should be a really simple app.
