I'm using the Vivaldi browser on computer and I was waiting for a mobile version. However, it's a pity there's no tab stacking option and there's no more customization possible. The Vivaldi browser on computer stands out much more than the mobile version of it. Also, an option to re-order tabs, or to see them the way Chrome shows them would be neat.
What can I say ? It works well, fast, I can easily switch between the fifty something tabs I got. Sync is really useful. My only regret is that there is no way to go back to the old search bar, which doesn't make the URL disappear directly when you click on it. Can't see the URL well = security issues.
Amazing. Its as good as Vivaldi on PC and I'm so happy. A few things could be improved, of course, its a beta after all, but the only thong I really miss are the free color customisation and a gesture to delete the tabs, instead of clicking on the tiny cross (or a "delete all tabs" button)
Generally a very good browser. Love the built in option to darken Web pages. One thing I wish they would do about it though - I set the option to darken all websites but occasionally I come across a website that doesn't work well with that. In that case, clicking on the menu and unchecking "dark theme" should remove it from that page / website.
Missing many features and options from the desktop version. Also. "Help" menu choice displays a web page but with all controls (tab switching, main menu, ...) disabled so we can't try out suggested solutions without closing "help". Moreover the help system has little Android-oriented help and displays much help for desktop that does not apply to mobile. It should only display help applicable to mobile when accessed from a mobile device.
I love Vivaldi, it's my default browser for desktop. I've actually come to like the Android version of the app a great deal as well and while it's not yet on par with the desktop version, it's still very good on my daily driver device however I have several other devices that I use mostly to test out software etc. I was just using one for this purpose when 4x in a row, the download I was trying to complete failed within the last few MB. Didn't complete & disappeared from the DL page. FML😾😵😱😩
I have been a long-time Chrome user and always felt pretty good about its functionality. However, it seems to have gotten "bloated" and is trying to do too much. Then along came Vivaldi. Clean, quick, but still loaded with functionality that is hard to match with any other browser. For a while I switched off between Chrome and Vivaldi but have recently settled on Vivaldi as my primary go-to browser, I am installing it on my phone also as I have become a Vivaldi "fan-boy". Good stuff. Intuitive, very powerful and fun to use. Great job , folks!
I am very impressed with the Vivaldi Browser for Android. After trying several different browsers for my new Android tablet I settled on Vivaldi. For me it has the speed, security and wide range of options and settings that I have been searching for in a browser. I notice that the Vivaldi Browser has undergone many upgrades over the years. That tells me that developers are keeping pace with changes in the online environment.
Otherwise very good browser experience, but the control button/panel options is big disappointment. Why it's not possible to remove the bottom bar completely, it takes too much space from the screen (yes I know about auto-hide)? When address bar and controls are combined in one panel at the bottom, it is perfect but I would like to move it to the top, but not possible. I would like to get rid of Chrome, but these little things won't enable it. I hope in the future updates this is possible.
Almost perfect mobile browser with plenty of customization options, ad and tracker blocking, great compatibility with all websites (since it's a Chromium browser), and helpful tools that plain ol' Chrome doesn't have. I have experienced some issues with the app crashing, but not often. I do hope Vivaldi will soon incorporate Material You theming, and I'd like to see some add'l tools added to the already very useful Reading List tool (e.g., highlighting tied to the Notes tool)…
Amazing. Best browser by far! The options for tab grouping and layout of related buttons is fantastic never saw such customization in a mobile browser. No negatives so far try it and check out settings before you think you don't like it, cause there's lots of options to adjust. Edit: still 5* but biggest change would be awesome to be able to select Yandex as default browser especially for the reverse image search button on pics!
It's unorthodoxed, it will take time to get use too, but it is sertainlly fast and private. I have a lot of apps on mid grade android and it sails. I don't use Google assistant I now alot of people prefer to use that function I do. Is it possible to add a function like that? It would sure be a win win for both users and creater, once people catch on, I believe it will be a big, big success this app!!! Thanks team!!
Privacy, security, and customisation options are amazing. But youtube doesn't continue playing videos in background (if we have some other work to do, we will have to exit the browser, but we expect background play to work). In the brave browser, background play works just fine. Not just YouTube, please enable the background play option for every video (atleast only audio) so that we can continue playing video songs or such after exiting to home screen.
Tab management is awesome! The sync feature with the desktop version works very well also. I just the note sync feature and rarely have any trouble. The UI is still a little less refined than chrome, but functionally it works really well. It is built on Chrome so pretty much everything works
Everything perfectly. One question - how can I set up Vivaldi for the search action from Android? I need it for my new homescreen and after put a reset on the default apps, it only showed other browsers, but not Vivaldi. Can you fix this or help me with this? :) thank you allot! Afterwards for sure, 5 star at all.
I was almost going to overlook this amazing app cuz of the 3.5 stars rating at the time of this review, I really don't why, this has everything you need and more, it's fast, smooth, customizable, and has a good ad blocker engine built in. I would urge anyone to give this a try
Better with every update. But I wish there was a way to turn off search snippet highlighting when using google. Also, despite having deactivated Show Simplified Page View in accessibiliry options, I still get the prompt for what feels like every other page.
Now you can quick select one of the 7 search engine sawed in the app, but still not able to add your own? Why, works on desktop and seems like you try to hold mobile and desktop browser function close together. Now c'mon add an option to change the search engine...
It's really the most customizable, feature rich and complete browser on Android and for computers, but it lacks animations. I wish you add beautiful animations to the UI. And also what about adaptive theme for Android 12+?!
Honestly installing this app was the best thing I could have randomly done .. chrome firefox and opera are garbage compared to the vivaldi experience *edit* after last update watching videos on this browser has turned into a nightmare it was fine before now it lags and crashes and even goes black
Truly no ads. And blocking of ads are working flawlessly. No other browser can compete with this browser. It helps to save data alot at the same time smooth functioning. Best browser ever.
It's a great browser. Not open source, but it has good integration with the desktop version (although pages added on the new reading list panel don't always show on the dekstop). I would also really like a custom search engine option so i can use Brave search or anything else not included.
Note: Since the reply from Vivaldi Technologies in Sept. 2020, "Text wrap" is still missing. Vivaldi for Android is missing the essential "Text wrap" to automatically reformat paragraphs (after zooming in) so that we can read a web page without having to move the page left and right at each line because we can't see the whole line on the smartphone screen! Opera for Android has a great implementation of the "Text wrap" feature. It would be nice if Vivaldi tried to catch up to Opera for Android.
Really wanted to like this app since it can filter any site background to proper AMOLED black making it superior to any reader mode I've used, but it's started crashing a few seconds after load. Full app data wipe not helping. May give this another look some day.
It's the first beta (the clue is in the name), so I'm not sure why people are complaining about minor issues as if it was a finished product. I'm sure there will be more customisation and features once it's on a stable release path. It works fine out the box, hasn't crashed yet, and was able to sync with all my bookmarks and notes from the desktop version. I had the multiple-copies-of-notes sync issue after installing it, but that is something I've experienced on desktop as well, so might be down to sync, not this app.
