Vivint Smart Home

The camera and doorbell work fine but the app isn't really compatible with Android phones. I get notifications but can barely hear the sound. Especially when someone rings the doorbell. The amount of money spent on the system it should be compatible on all devices. I should have to keep sleeping the app to play music aloud on my phone.

The app keeps crashing while I'm on it. I often have problems loading videos. I just tried to use the rewind because someone was in my yard and the camera didn't detect them but it wouldn't work. It kept saying unable to load and then the app would close out. I've only had the app for two days. The few problems the app has are big issues that need to be fixed. After reading these reviews and since I'm only 3 days in, I'm definitely cancelling and going back with ADT.

This App messes with your audio! I noticed that once I signed on with Vivint and downloaded their app it lowers the audio to music or videos I'm watching everytime I get a notification from Vivint. The only way to get the volume back is to restart my phone or force close the Vivint app. This is such a pain and inconvenience. I'm only using Vivant for the security cameras around my home. The videos show clear and sounds good. The app would be great if it would stop interfering with my audio.

Sometimes works sometimes it doesn't! Since I had this system and app installed, it's worked 65% of the time. I spent a ton of money for all the whistles and bells, just to not access them or view your property on the regular. Once I return from out of town, I plan on ripping this POS out of my house and looking elsewhere!!!

The alarm system works OK, the application works 50% of the time when trying to view the camera feeds. I have a storage drive that very often does not do a good job of replaying segments. I think the bottom line with this app is that you need a very strong WiFi home system to get good camera feeds. The storage device sits next to my router, but still get poor performance on replays.

Was working fine until a few weeks ago. I get notifications that someone has triggered my alarm system. When I click on the app it kicks me out in a second. I have no access to my home when I'm away. Keeps telling me that vivint has a bug . I've tried everything possible to get it to work. I've deleted the app & installed again nothing happens. I so do not recommend this alarm system to anyone. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER ...

Top of the line price for outdated tech. Thought my phone was malfunctioning or damaged as the sound randomly stopped functioning, was about to file an insurance claim that would have cost me about $100 and a lot of time setting up a new phone before I realized that only happened when the vivent app was open in the background. Many more issues, but this service and app are definitely not up to date for a company that claims to be "top of the line" and charges accordingly.

Love the set up but whenever I get notifications it disrupts my phones volume and the speaker becomes non existent on calls, videos, etc. forcing me to restart my phone every single time to get my volume back. I've tried disabling things and changing settings but nothing has worked. Cant find much information online about a fix for this either. Told to delete and reinstall the app. Super annoying.

Honestly I haven't had any issues with the equipment, staff, or service thus far. I've only had it a short time, but everything functions as intended, it is easy to use. I get to check up on my home from work or when traveling, and the alerts and video clips saved when the cameras are alerted are great. It is a good product, functional, and convenient. I am glad I have it.

Only works half the time. I may get notifications that someone has triggered my camera but may take up to 5 minutes for me to be able to look at the footage. Sometimes the app won't open at all and gives me the error to send feedback. When we have called we have been repeatedly told, uninstall and reinstall or reboot, which doesn't fix the issue

I wish this was half as good as their hardware. I pretty much have to disarm my house before I even get close or it loses its mind over switching to my home Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi signal slightly less than perfect? No connection. Changed networks in the last 15 minutes? No connection. Switched from Wi-Fi to mobile data while on the app? Gotta restart your phone. Got home from work a few minutes before 5? App unavailable for maintenance. Just terrible reliability, plus buggy menus and glitchy buttons.

Terrible connection issues. Even when I am at home next to my wifi and checking my cameras it takes over 30 seconds to get a live feed. God forbidde I'm not home and something does happen probably wouldn't be able to report a problem because it will all have been done by the time I can see what's happening. Oh an the app crashes all the time randomly as I am view my cameras. I wish I could get out of this contract. If I could rate this app a negative I would. Worst app ever!!!

Great app, docked a star because sometimes it doesn't seem to want to record when a person is detected. It just goes "person detected" / "door opened" without showing anything. Would love to see it actually show what it's detecting every time it detects something. That's the point of a security system after all.

RED ALERT! Currently, the app is down. While an alarm went off it was not able to contact Vivint thru the panel. After 4 mnts, the alarm shut down. When the Andriod app came back up, it doesn't have a record of the alarms! If you are away from home you really do not know what may have happened. The idea of the product is good. But in implentation, it is very brittle.

This app crashes constantly! Its very easy to use which is nice but it will tell me someone is at my door but then i can't pull up my doorbell camera quickly no.. takes almost a whole min, walking to the door is faster which defeats alot of the purpose of the camera. When I pull up the doorbell camera it shows a loading circle (sometimes for a min or more) or the app just crashes. The cameras and service are great but the app is trash. They definitely need to do something about it.

I have top tier internet connection and accessing cameras, switching from camera to camera, zooming, etc there is significant amount of lag. Also just getting to arm/disarm via app takes significant amount of time. I getting tired of the dial up like speeds of this app and now today it crashed and has been down for about an hour. Seriously what am I paying vivint for? Premium fee for dial up speed?! Also when IT is doing maintenance for vivint app, you don't have access to the app.

This app was working great until I updated it. That's when all the trouble started. I log into the app and it automatically closes. This has been going on for a week. I have uninstalled several times and the problem continues. Support says they are aware of the issue but failed to communicate about the problem or when it will be resolved. I've only had Vivint for less than 6 months and at this rate I'm unsatisfied with the service. I would recommend you wait to update the app.

All that money for the hardware and I can't even access my security cameras. I've tried to reach out to vivint twice now via email with no answer. App was working great for the first few months. Then started to run slow. Now it crashes every time I try and open it. I will amend my rating when the issue is resolved.

My ability to open and close garage door just disappeared and can get it back or to pair to the myq app. Has been three months now and can't us my myq to open my garage door in app. They still haven't fixed it. Also app is now closing out on it's open all the time. When viewing cameras video also won't play. App was great now just seems to get worse and makes me wish went with didn't system.

The alarm system itself is fine. The camera sends me alerts but I can never view the video. Or actually answer my doorbell camera. Videos take forever to load if they even work. 90% of the time it says error. Been a loyal customer for years. Think it's time to go to another security company.

App is not working properly. It messes with my phones audio every time a notification goes through. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and it still does the same thing. Please fix this issue. I really want the app on my phone, but it's useless to me like this because it disrupts my phone.

The only thing I would change is regarding the notifications. The notifications do not distinguish between armed away or stay. It just says armed. Please update so the notification reads 'armed away' or 'armed stay'. UPDATE 5/16/22 Notifications still not differentiating between armed away and armed stay. The old app (from the previous system Go Panel) had this differentiation. Please add it to this system/app.

Please fix this horrible app! I can't watch playback from ANY my cameras! I am not being provided the services that I signed a contract for and pay for. I am disappointed that Vivint has not corrected its many issues and complaints. I recently have had a camera that constantly goes offline. I get it back on by resetting the router but then it goes offline again. They charge for a technician to maintenance the equipment however when I signed up I was told that Vivint would maintenance for free.
