I'm able to configure the device using the application, however video playback doesn't work. "Retrieving video stream" with an indefinite spinning loading icon. Can't tell if the app or device is at fault. I've followed up with support over 10 separate emails. They now just ask me to wait. It has been 2 months of this not working.

I bought the door bell camera to use as a security camera, at first I had connection issues and then I had a new modem/router installed and that helped for a while. So I decided to subscribe to the cloud storage they offer, and that's been hit or miss if the camera is working or not. I've had the camera for 2 years and now the charging port is messed up and won't charge. But I'm still being charged for the cloud storage and I can't cancel it in the app cause that option is not available. Help

The app isn't always working. When you look back at detections and you back out if full screen it takes you back to the last picture instead of where you left off. The detections are hit or miss. It picks up insects and the wind but it has failed to pick up people at times, and I tried all the sensitivity settings. I do however like that I can lable things, record in real time, and save things.

I purchased this about 6 months ago. Set-up went smoothly, and I was able to use the device for about 4 months, with the only issue being slight lags and speaker cutting in and out. Then one day I went to access the camera and it said there was no connection. Once I returned home, I tried to reconnect. I have tried several times and failed, even sitting right next to the router with the camera and mobile phone. Says device found but initializing times out. Wifi is 2.4, strong, password correct.

Will not connect to the camera. Keeps getting stuck at initializing device but still goes to 100%, then does nothing. Just stays there. When I go to view devices it will show up there but just says the current version does not support the device and to please update the app. No updates found when I try to do this though.

Bought a baby monitor and on the setup of the device it stopped at initializing. (Even though it says 100% but the progress bar is bs and actually doesn't represent the progress at all) Found out under listed devices that the "current version doesn't support the device" thats already registered as mine. It then asked me to download the update for the app but its the latest update. Looks like I'll have to return the camera and go with a different brand

Having recently moved and transferred wifi to new residence, meant unplugging an otherwise perfect camera for its use. Now, I have tried xx# of times to connect it to the wifi with zero results. It's been reset several times, unplugged and plugged in and phone in front of camera. I still have device offline. I received a download log... what does that even mean??? Was I supposed to save the box for the scan code? Please help.

Using the smart plug, it decided to reset itself because I unplugged it. Somewhere along the way, my vivitar account has been disconnected from my Google account, and now, after going through setup on the plug again, I cannot re-link them. Vivitars instructions for linking accounts refer to buttons that do not exist in their own app. It says go to the "me" page and select Google assistant, but there are no assistant options there.

I've got cameras, outlets& switches. There is nothing simple about these products. It seems that I loose connection or " go offline" quite often and it is pain to get everything back online. As for the switches they have no reset anywhere that I can find!!!

No options? Can't adjust any settings at all regarding the video, and the auto-panning function is absolutely stupid. At least let me turn it off so I dont have to fight to see whats going on every time I open the app. Also connection issues when switching between this app and others, video feed never loads and need to restart app.

Pictures are crystal clear, even the night vision. Set up was easy. It stores pictures to your phone. Videos show up if there is a card in the camera. Alerts your phone when movements are detected. The cord could be longer. ( 10 foot would be great ) The camera only swivels up or down. I wish it would move right to left too. Other than that, great camera for a great price. With the APP you can add and control SMART devices too. I have not done that but the option is there. 2 way intercom too

So far it does what it's supposed to do. Have a few flaws either with the software or the devices connected. I've got 2 of the video cameras and one of them goes haywire when turning on the Movement Detection. It keeps sending false notifications. Which is really annoying. Other issue is the app will not locate or set up my location. It just stays blank on the map part of the screen.

overall a great camera and service for the purchase price and service fee. There are a few minor issues with connectivity randomly and the playback interface is not very user friendly unless you have a fine tip stylus. But... the picture quality is great during the day and very good at night; the alarm feature is excellent when sensitivity is set correctly for the environment being monitored; and the 2 way communication feature is very helpful. The cloud service is very useful. Very nice.

Disposable toy with primitive software. Worked on my Wi-Fi originally but once I've moved I can't get it to initialize there is no back door to understand if the camera is working or if it's the Wi-Fi or some other reason but totally a piece of trash now. The image quality wasn't too bad the communication worked well but if it doesn't connect to your internet it's just a paperweight. Lasted about 3 months. Can't be sure what is the issue. Broken, bad software, no way to troubleshoot.

It took a while to get the app to work. I had to separate my 2.4 and 5 mhz router and it worked great. Now about week later it keeps failing to connect to my video feed. While it does take pictures actually seeing who is at the door and talking to the person is not happening. I dont know if the app is buggy or something with my internet but its not just doing this on my device. I was cool once it finally connected now a new issue.

The old app was a lot better for playback. The camera only records a few seconds of video to the SD card instead of recording the whole time there is motion (or extra). You can't view most of the videos on playback because you have to find it on a timeline and it usually errors out without playing the video. The message screen shows a snapshot of what was recorded, but when you click to view the video, it goes to live feed. Wish I could connect the newer camera to the old app that worked better

Not user friendly. It may be feasible to have computer skills when trying to configure this app and setup the designated camera. There was quite a bit of tedious things to do before getting the unit to fully function as it should. Definitely not simple for the average user and the instructions don't help. There isn't even a troubleshooting area in the guide.

I want to give this 5 stars, as the camera and image quality are wonderful for the price. However, accessing the cloud storage (on a free promo) is basically impossible. Keep recieving a message that video is stored in gallery, it is not. I'm not sure what the purpose is of having video stored to the cloud 1) if it "is" to be stored on my phone anyways 2) and if it is inaccessible? Any support on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Poor, we just purchased a couple of the cameras, set them up, and they worked great. Then we moved one and had to unplug it. We'll then it wouldn't work anymore, so we had to remove it from the account, and reconnect it. Now, since I closed the app, it won't go past the establishing encrypted connection screen for either camera. But keeps alerting me to buy cloud storage. If your equipment is only going to run on the cloud, you might want to say that on the packaging.

Once I asked the right question and figured out how to get my camera hooked up to a wifi hotspot and then to my phone I CANNOT say enough to describe my satisfaction with this product!! As long as it doesn't lose the wifi connection, I haven't been able to find a place that I am unable to see my property! I am definitely planning to add at least 2/3 more!! If not more?! I would give it 10☆s if I could!!!

I use this app in conjunction with Vivitar light switches. Setup and linking with the switches is fairly straight forward and easy with a good 2.4 WI-FI signal. Linking to Alexa is easy. Last update still has not addressed location services not functioning which is frustrating. Overall the switches and Alexa capabilities make this a great value. Just fix the location bug!!

The camera is great for the price its as good as my high dollar cameras. However, the app is lousy its functionality is very limited. The time stamp is an hour off and I can't figure out how to change it to the correct time. If they would update this app this could become a 5 star review instead of a two. I also replaced the three foot USB cord to a ten foot at Walmart for like seven dollars at Walmart and went to BJ's wholesale Club and purchased a set of two 32GB SD cards for $22

This device may work for others, but it failed to work for me. I even returned the first one thinking it must be defective. However, the second one doesn't work either. I have reset the camera and the router, and even plugged it directly into my router; but the connection continues to time out. My internet connection is stable. When attempting to connect, the camera is connected to the router and sitting directly in front of it; and the phone is next to the device. And it still times out.

I just want to say thank you for creating such a great product! Between the quality of the product and the simplicity of install and using the camera all the way up to work together in combination with other smart things I have enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to getting a few more things to collaborate with the camera I recently purchased. I was able to use my camera to trigger a led strip in my room that now comes on and glows red whenever motion is detected outside. Thank you!

Got a smart pet feeder that wouldn't pair with an access point. I gave support a shot and learned that it was under recall and they would send me a new one in 4-6 weeks... if I paid shipping. I just dropped 120 bucks for some defective product and an app that doesn't work and they want me to keep dumping cash into it. They only want to do business with suckers, and thankfully I won't be a sucker for this.

I bought 2 camara and have gotten 2 more. They were easy to connect. Have a good picture for the price. They are stationary so you can only see the area that you have it in position for. I gave it a 4* because of the easy setup with a good picture and easy to see on my phone. I also like the fact that you can turn alarm on and off for movement.

Camera worked fine when first purchased and connected to wifi. Once it disconnected from wifi, have never been able to get it to reconnect. Have tried everything listed in troubleshooting and still nothing works. So very disappointing considering we have only had it a couple months!

Purchased smart pet auto feeder. Thought scheduling did not work but turns out it just doesn't recognize daylight savings time, adjusted for an hour and it works fine. My daughter can stream from Germany but I can't here is the US. She has an IPhone, I use android 12. Tried with android 10 but it doesn't work either. Firmware update stops at 80% from both locations. Would rate 5 stars if streaming worked for Android and firmware update was available. May return if no timeline for correction.

I don't understand how come it never connects. I'm on vacation and during the whole time it kept showing establishing encrypted channel but never connects. It only works when it wants to. It's like what is the point if it's not connecting. I'm only able to see the motion pictures that is all but not the live camera view.

I like it all. Easy to operate, user friendly, and affordable. Update Sometimes it's difficult to get the time to match in both your camera and device, especially when day light saving times occur. It's like pulling teeth to get it the camera's time to sync with your device's time.
