I can not no matter how hard I try get the time accurate on my vivofit jnr 2. I have re paired it, unpaired it, tried updating and it still says 340 even thought it is 755am. I've googled how to fix this with no success
Easy interface, fun design, great for encouraging chores and daily activities.
Nice idea, my son loves his watch and the game in the app. However the technology is not very stable. Sometimes the syncing stops working and can only be restored by resetting to factory settings. Also the watch shows the wrong time occasionally, which has to be fixed by syncing. Recently I could not start the app, because it told me to download a non-existing update, but this was resolved within a day.
We LOVED this app. I have twin 9 year olds who have had these watches for almost a year, and the kids loved them. We used just about every feature (reminders, games, etc). Unfortunately within the last month or two the app has stopped working. It will not allow either of the boys to use it- shows plenty of moves, but then says an error has occurred and stops. Additionally, one of the batteries continues to register as low, however, I just replaced it! Soooo disappointed. Used to be awesome. 😔
My review would be better, if I was able to sync with the device from the app, not always have to sync from the device! When I change some settings, e.g. a new alarm while my daughter is already asleep, it can't take effect until we can press the button! Considering everything else is controlled by the app, it makes no sense at all that it has to be synced manually from the watch!
I'm only giving this app 2 stars because I have no idea if it's my son's watch or the app that isn't working. Software was updated then the time, calendar, completed chores were all gone. It constantly wants to sync but won't. I've tried resetting the watch but that won't work. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app and it gives a "404 server error" so I can't even sign into the app again. Very disappointing!! Maybe it's time to switch to a Fitbit Ace 2?!
Very nice app and easy to use. I went with a 3 here because a few things could be added. I would love the option to add or subtract coins without setting a chore. Like if my kids are good 👍 or bad 👎. I can add or subtract coins to reflect that. The board game is very nice and interesting. I would love a potty timer to help potty train. I can set a timer on the watch itself however if it goes off and I dont hear it. It just goes away. Maybe a notification to the app letting the parents know.
The watch and app sometimes don't sync all the time. My son gets disappointed that after midnight it doesn't reserve his goals for the next day. As a result even though he finished his goal, he never gets to play the tap game and advance in the adventure. He likes the watch, the colours, water resistance, and seeing the suggested activities. I wish there was more encouragement to help them achieve their activity goal. Overall he and I are happy with the watch and abilityto program the chores.
Brilliant watch and a cracking app UI - both still undermined by a sync process that is TERRIBLE (and I do mean terrible!). It fails every time (not that you are told it's failed), so in the end you have to unpair the watch and then re-pair it to get it to sync. Non-tech people will give up very quickly. Shame, because the watch itself is brilliant. This app however is THE WORST app I've experienced.
The app won't sync. I am constantly pressing the sync button on the watch, refreshing the app, completely closing out and nothing is working. I paid $69.99 (from Target) for each watch. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I wish I could return it and get my money back. These are my first Garmin products and I'm not sure if I would buy another. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. NOT worth the money at all.
It's been really interesting to look at the information on sleep and activity; the app is really cool. My son likes the activity challanges and it's great to be able to reward him for his chores. The only draw back is that it doesn't sync automatically with his data I keep having to reestablish the connection through bluetooth.
Junk app. Good watch. App fails to connect. Very frustrating. Misses the point of syncing. Update May 20 Still terrible. I have just wasted 1 hour trying to sync this infernal vivofit to my phone. Restarted bluetooth, restarted phone, deleted watch from my bluetooth. The watch shows the wireless sign, the phone app DOES NOTHING. Save yourselves the hassle: if you just opened yours, put it back in the box, send it back for a refund. You will thank me.
My daughter and son both have the Vivofit jr devices and love them but my experience with this app has been nothing but a challenge. The app never synced well with my daughters device and I often had to forget, repair, etc. My son's device synced better but my phone broke last week and when I reinstalled this app on the replacement phone (pixel 2) it will not sync to either device no matter how many times I try. This is driving me crazy. Am trying to reinstall again to see if that might work.
Several places in the app it tells me an update is available (eg clicking on adventure), but there is no update when I click message to go to play store. Leaves a permanent item in my notification menu and notification bar about running in the background, that I can't get rid of, which is very annoying and clutters them. Option to search other Garmin users by name, to connect to, seems to have disappeared since I sent a connection request, replaced with option to look in my Google contacts etc.
We really like the watch and the app. It doesnt always work the way it should but when it does, it's great. I love being able to set chores and rewards for my daughter and she loves the incentives to exercise and achieve. The app doesnt always sync with the watch, so some days she doesnt get to move in her game and sometimes misses out on earning coins. It would be the best app if this problem could be fixed.
For those who have a problem with the sync, it took me few time to find out you need to remove the app from your device, then install it again, then it works. (the setting need to be just like you install it for the first time, no pairing connected). if you just un-pair from bluetooth, or just clear the app data, or remove the device from app, it will NOT WORK!! also for if you have a device that stuck and freeze some weird screen, remove the battery, then wait for a long time, it should work as new. I minus the one star for the difficulty of the app to get connection.
Bought 2 Garmin's for my two children and it is not syncing with my android phone. Have done all the troubleshooting suggestions, still nothing. After doing the initial pairing, the app wont sync with either of them which kind of ruins the whole point of the Garmin in terms of setting goals, adding chores etc. It is now just a very expensive watch/pedometer! I expect better when I pay $100 for a product.
Will not Sync to Samsung Galaxy S21. Very frustrating. Used to sync flawlessly last year. Battery died and just replaced it, now wrong time and alarm going off at random times because it won't sync to turn them off. Please help. Update app or return to previous version. (Vivofit Jr. 2 - Marvel Spider-Man : Does app no longer support this device?) Edit: Not the phone, will not sync to iPad either. Also, will pair to both but will not sync.
It's hard to say whether it's the app or the hardware but there are real issues with getting the watch to pair. When it works it's pretty good but when it doesn't, it's hugely limited in its use and value. If you're reading this and considering buying a Vivofit Junior, I'd go for something else which doesn't come with connectivity issues.
Fun for the kids Only challenge is pairing the vivofit jr to a new mobile device, it acts quirky and takes a long time to work thru the issue. But beyond that, it works great, lots of milestones and stories for the kids. Been at this for 2yrs with my little one, and still going.
