VizControl - TV Remote Control
Your TV and phone/tablet must have infrared interface!
★ Point your phone’s IR blaster directly at the TV like with the original infrared remote. Usual working range is 3
- 15ft (line of sight).
★ With some phones in power saving mode or with almost empty battery the IR signal is very weak and range is less then 5ft.
Features: All functions should work with the latest (2015) models. If you have 10 year old TV model which does not have internet connection, then of course some internet related (apps) buttons does not work, but all common functions will still work.
Supported devices: devices with IR blaster running on Android KitKat or Lollipop like Galaxy series S4, S5, S6, S6 Edge, Note, Tab, Mega, HTC One series incl. M7/M8/M9, LG G3 Stylus, TCT / Alcatel I221 and some Lonovo tablets with IR interface.

Downloaded the app,connected WiFi as the app tells you to both tv and phone. Once I searched for my home Vizio. I got no where on the app. After reading the reviews it's disappointing. Would not recommend
This app works, but I can't stand the ads. They're loud & for games I'll never use (though any ad running that long EVERY TIME I open an app is obnoxious).
Ok so I've been using it for a minute because I still can't find the remote. But at this point I don't need it. This app works so well. And I can use it on multiple tvs. I'm hooked
2 stars... Only because it actually works and it's easy to use. But the ads are ridiculous. EVERY time I open it there's an ad. And they're LOUD. Bothersome if you have someone sleeping next to you. Uninstalled it to go back to the one that has NO ads... But Also works the way it's supposed to and is easy to use... even though it doesn't have actual buttons for Netflix... Vudu etc.
OK so I've downloaded a few remote apps for my Vizio TV and they all sucked! I could only change the channels by pressing the numbers and most of the time they wouldn't even connect to the TV! but this app works great!! It connects automatically without me having to restart the app, it's not full of adds and I haven't had any problems with it lagging! My kids loose the remote at least 4 times a week and since I've downloaded this app I haven't even bothered looking for it!
It is exactly as adveritsed. After looking at the rating, and seeing the remote the first time, I was a bit sketched out, but was quickly over it. It asked for no requirements, just for you to pair your device go your TV, which is what I did. Works fast and perfectly, it is nothing more or less than what it says it is, and that's what makes it good.
Great app, it paired easily with my vizio TV, I can manage all aspects of the app to the TV, but it is your basic remote. If you want a remote that has Netflix or Amazon Prime Video etc... also then I recommend a universal smart cast remote and there is one after your vizio remote search I believe it's the second or third on the list, it paired well with his my vizio and I can use it for everything but you need wifi to use it, otherwise this basic remote is a good one if that's all you need.
Did not work for me. However it did at least give me the message that said that my TV does not have the smartcast feature. I appreciate this because the last three apps I tried didn't work and I had no idea why. So I guess this would work if you have that feature - I would prefer that they put this in the description it would save people the time of downloading and trying it.
Good app, does what I needed it too (change to HDMI for my laptop when my kids lose the remote), it does good volume control and you have to click like 50 times before an ad pops up, the last remote I had was like every 10 touches. The only drawback is I dont think I can go to apps on this remote. But, when I saw the crappy comments people made (because of their phone-not this app) I wanted to review it because that's bs. It isnt developers fault.
My Vizio remote broke and although I ordered a new one it take time to arrive so I searched for an app and I was delighted to see that Vizio had its own remote app. It works great all the time. There are adds that can be annoying but it well worth the ease and comfort of opening your phone instead of having to get up to change the channel or to find the remote.
Besides the ads, which I understand, this is better than the actual Vizio app itself. There's no widget, idt, but it's so much faster, reliable, and easier to use than Vizio's own app. It doesn't have the Smartcast feature Vizio does, but you can still set it up manually through the TV with the remote. I lost my own remote, or maybe my dog buried it, either way, this remote is sweet.
Horrible. The owner should put in the description that this app is for the SMARTCAST SERIES TV'S . Which mine isn't. ;
Simple. Does exactly what it says it does. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Solid application. Nothing negative with this app. . . *Idea 💡: I know our remote comes in black....but it'd be pretty cool if we could change the black to a different color. Or even just change the color of the buttons.
Works well enough, full screen ads on launch are a little irritating but honestly no worse than Peel forcing updates every other day. Have had a few lock-ups, but I'm on an older phone so I can't entirely fault the app. Other apps I tried were missing buttons or unresponsive, so I'm just glad it works. Used for my E371VL

just uninstalled this app. it takes forever for it to load once I click it. and then the last 10 times I used it, it kept popping up with full screen ads just before or as I was pressing buttons. it is kind of helpful if you can look passed that. I found a different one VizioRemote (Remote control for Vizio tv) so far so good.
Worked great when others didn't! I download two other apps before this one due to reviews and they didn't work. This one worked immediately and is on point. 5 stars for how easy it was and is. I gave 4 stars on ads shown inside the app because I haven't used it long enough to determine just yet, but so far no ads. I will come back and edit if need be.
Remote hasn't been working. It just up and quit. The control will allow me to go to the Vizio control menu, however, it stopped allowing me to scroll through the streaming and tv channel selections. It won't do a search for a movie or channel either. Basically, I cant watch TV. Smart cast only... I have to cast from my phone to play anything now.
Cannot pair to TV. It instructs you to go into settings but you cannot because the reason why you are trying to download the app in the first place is because you don't have access to TV settings. It requires a remote to be paired meanwhile your trying to pair a remote vicious cycle doesn't make sense.
It worked out great and was connected to my Vizio within 10 seconds. Although I can't access the settings portion of the tv like the original Vizio app, I appreciate the developers design, layout and ease of use. Definitely worth trying if you need a quick and simple remote app.
Fantastic!!! We used Peel Smart Remote for the majority of the time we lost our original remote, and the ads got absolutely ridiculous and we couldn't connect it to our television. I scoured through playstore until I found a vizio remote like peel smart, and this ended up being a thousand times easier to manage!!!
My phone doesn't have a IR port and I don't have a smart TV, so I wasn't able to use the app really. But I really appreciate that the error message that came up told me that the issue was my phone has no IR port, so I knew it was that and not my tv or any other factor.
Piggybacking off of a recent review... I also experienced the annoyance of having the app "search for a device" for almost 4 minutes. i had the phone and television connected to the same wifi & even confirmed that my 2018 smart tv was able to pair. Still nothing. I wouldn't waste my time.
amazing, I have the official vizio app and it's fine for casting, but their remote is hard to use. this app is great for quickly changing volume or just turning the tv off and on. I even taught my gramma how to use in just a few minutes! I had no troubles setting up it didn't even take a minute.
It will take me to Amazon play then the remote becomes completely useless and unusable... I tried for 30 minutes trying to find some way for it to work never did... It does work for basic things though like turning the TV off and on and volume but can't select anything which was the main thing I needed it for.
So far i am impressed. The Vizio app wanted access to EVERYthing and my phone doesn't have enough memory to install it. This one uses less storage and needs less permissions, and it even looks like the Vizio remote, minus the app buttons which nobody uses anyway.
It's cool that this one offers a remotely similar interface to what my original remotes have to the appearance of the one that I originally got with my TV but when I go to pair the thing with my TV it doesn't go and for the most part the TV works really fun with the internet
The extended adds make this almost pointless. I can literally get up and walk to the TV change channels on the TV, get back to the couch and the ad is still playing.
