VLC Remote

This is the best VLC remote I have found. I use it with VLC on Linux/Ubuntu. Very easy to setup and connection to my laptop was hassle free. Setting up playlists from a large library of music is fast and easy. Remote control features are well designed and reliable. I had a detailed technical question and the owner got back to me quickly with helpful answers.

So far so good, one nice feature would be to add search for the playlist than it would be amazing!

Great app wether you have the free version or paid. Most of what I watch for TV is on my computer and played through VLC. Tried other programs to use as a remote but they didn't work well or at all. Then I found this app, why didn't I type in vlc remote sooner. The free version is good but the paid version is well worth the cost if you use it as much as I do. Simple quick setup makes it even better. I give it 10 stars but Google will only let me give 5.

So far it has worked great. It was worth it for me to pay for the unlocked version. The UI is well designed an intuitive, and has functioned perfectly. It's the final step I've needed to make a complete standalone media player. Thank you! Update 14 Oct 2020: Very happy with this app after using it for some time. Haven't run into a single problem. My home theatre viewing during this pandemic would be noticably more frustrating without it. I bought a tablet to dedicate to this and volumio

I wish more apps were this elegantly simple. I was looking for an app to control VLC on my media PC and that's exactly what this does, and it does it better than I ever could have imagined! Being able to browse my media from my phone is a really great feature. This app is almost perfect! The one and only feature I would like to see if the ability to change the color scheme since I've never been a big fan of VLC orange. Worth every penny and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been looking for a quick and easy way to play radio streams from my mac mini through my hi-fi amp without the hassle of having the tv on, and using a wireless keyboard/mouse as a controller. This plus vlc appears to have provided the answer at a very reasonable price - worth every penny. Thanks for the app and bye-bye to my fm tuner! :)

After trying out several, I settled and bought the licence for this one. It has all the features I need, including adding youtube to my playlist, and adding my computer manually . My SOLE reservation is that once I connect, and can add songs to the pc playlist, they dont show up on the android side until I restart the application. That sad, it does show up. After experimenting with half a dozen or more VLS remotes I find this one to best meet my needs and expectations.

I love this remote for VLC, easy to set up and very complete. Misses only the option to change playlist items order. There is an option I don't get: transparent or black widget, but the app does not come with a widget (on Nexus 7 and Galaxy S6 it is not in the widgets list) and I don't see any difference when I change the option.

Pretty much everything you could want, from a basic level. It would be nice if more VLC settings were accessible through the app. But it's possible that there is a good reason those aren't or can't be implemented. Either way it's a great app and a must-have for anyone who watches videos through VLC on their TV.

Exactly what I was looking for. This allows me to essentially control my projector from my bed. I download and watch hundreds of kpop music videos. This app is really good for switching between them and skipping the ones I don't like. I'm a cheap mfer so I was hesitant to buy it, but it was well worth it.

Superb implementation. Skip, fast, slow, shuttle are included, and the browsing from the controlled instance of VLC on a PC is smooth and complete - any media VLC can see on the PC can be selected for play. This and my Chromecast make magic together.

Been using this app for a few years now on both, iOS and Android. I've been very pleased and satisfied with the fact that I can control watching media from my laptop which is displayed on my TV, while in the comfort of my bed!

It does everything as promised. The only thing I am missing is option of moving the songs order in the playlist. Would love to see this option in the future updates.

Well designed app, worth paying for. But please please please include the "choose renderer" feature that VLC now has. Essential for people streaming music and video to Chromecast devices around the house.

Works as advertised, but cannot install paid version on more than one android phone/tablet. Results in "already installed" but charges me twice anyway. Also, it requires VLC to be running, that's fine, but could you get the PC app to run VLC manually if not already running?

Excellent. Does require technical skill and time to set up. And then it works well.

Great app for people that don't use wireless mouse or keyboard, plus if your tech savvy you can always have fun messing with people when they use VLC 😉

It works, enough said. Handy to have with me while listening to podcasts on Bluetooth headphones.

Works like a charm, wish I could get it to work while my vpn is on but I'm pretty sure that my issue not the apps

Playlist does not populate unless vlc is already playing, also password doesn't save even when checkbox is clicked
