I had this set up in 5 mins and it does exactly what I wanted it to do. Only problem so far is that I haven't worked out how to switch subtitles within the app. If i can do that then I'll pay for this whether i need the added features or not because this is exactly how i want to shop for the apps i need. Thank you for this. Much better than trying to do it through remote pc. Edit: VLC won't play subs when casting to tv so it's not the app's fault.
App works great now. I had it installed before restorong my pc and after that for some reason, even with vlc remote helper I couldn't get it to pair... but about 5 months ago something updated, either windows or vlc remote, and they've been happy ever since. I wish I could control web players with it lol
Automatic setup didn't work at first (I have some really old equipment and very unreliable internet service) but after reading the community help and trying the manual setup a few times I can now use my phone as the perfect remote control. Great job!
This app has a reasonable Interface - *however* Developer(s) I dont appreciate your totally deceptive advertising on your website - In the list of features you advertise, you say it has Graphic Equaliser ability, and you show a picture of this Graphic Equaliser I specifically bought the PRO version of this app just because of this advertised feature only to find that there is NO Graphic Equaliser feature at all - Unhappy about that
After trying many apps this one is the only one which gives a systematic checklist of things to do which enable you to troubleshoot every step in a simple manner. Outstanding work!
Constantly not working. Setup program, help files, wiki, none of it works. Good thing it's free, but there's no way I'd ever pick up the period version.
requires permission to make calls for no obvious reason. other apps can do without. if you deny, it keeps asking until you block it. insists you install a program on you PC to configure VLC, and won't tell you how to configure it yourself. too fishy. uninstalled.
Usless, asks for pho e and call permissions! Tells me to use another helper software for the setup, or i can give my email so they can send it... No thanks, unistalled after 30 seconds.
Don't like the permission the app wants for using phone calls. Really leary about that! I bought this app for my iPhone and really liked it and was thinking of buying it for my new phone but not without understanding why it needs permission for phone calls? Please remove that requirement from this app!
VLC has ALWAYS BEEN my GO TO APP FOR music and movies WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS In the 14 years I've used vlc THEY HAVE NEVER done me wrong. But I can see this app is not made by vlc I'll try it, then probably delete it... Lol
Cannot connect. After pairing it ask for a password. Whatever password is entered it keeps saying wrong password. Website help troubleshooter says password should be vlcremote but this is also not accepted.
Playlist is empty even when it clearly isn't on the pc.... Should have been more clear that it exists in the paid version
"Make and manage phone calls", and asks that over and over. Right. Interesting this isn't even addressed in the description. Obviously uninstalled immediately. And for the reviewer who said "not sure why all the negative reviews, or works fine, etc, etc", assuming you're an actual reviewer and not a shill, it's obviously because an honest developer wouldn't ask for phone call permissions, since that has absolutely nothing to do with creating this type of app.
Great. Very easy to use, no need to install software on the pc like other similar apps.

Not sure why all the negative reviews.... I've been using this for years I have never had a problem! It works great, it's simple and just perfect!
wont let you browse without paying money
Been using this for years, and it worked fine. After a reinstall it just doesn't wanna pair anymore. A shame ...

It can see my pc and remote servers, but can't connect. Saying that no sign of vlc. Nothing helped.
This is the best app I have tried, no ads everything works fast and it has very nice and clean GUI I definitely recommend this app.
Couldn't use it as it wouldn't let me enter a password. Password field was flashing like crazy.
Pause button doesnt work. Cant add subtitle. no micro controls at all.

Will not connect to the latest version on VLC on the computer and all it says is VLC has not been recognized on this computer although I followed the instructions to the letter

Just what I needed!!! I tried four different apps and was struggling just with getting them set up but this one was super simple and easy and I'm impressed with how well it works. And it had a feature that lets you fix whenever the audio is out of sync!!!!!!!!!
