Rarely works. DW system always needs updating and in turn relinking to the app. You can't do that remotely. Also when I do try to adjust settings on the app remotely yo match a user on site it always changes my port from 9010 which works to 10000 which does not. Very frustrating....
Good, but now? This app was working fine, but 2 days ago, it stopped working, unless my phone is on wifi. Unfortunately, when im away from home, and want to check my cameras, I can't. It sys check the network connection. I have the Samsung note 9. What happened? This needs to be fixed.
Not a good camera viewing app. Crashes all the time. Fails to connect one sec then connects the next. Sometimes it will only show 1 or 2 of the cameras. This app needs a lot of work.
I'm a professional installer /dealer and,if anyone has connection, issues with the app on,connecting please check all your network settings in the NVR. Have your installer come out for service
The second you turn off wifi, the app says there's a network error. Doesn't work off of mobile data.
This app is not good for viewing or getting into DVR to view cameras. DW needs to get their act together and either fix this or replace.
Network error all the time. Even with full bars on wifi while at my property.
The app is terrible. So slow that the camera views don't even load, so I can't even watch/see them. Isn't that kind of the point?
Requires way too many permissions. No way I'm giving access to my contacts.
My favorite part about this app is scanning a QR code and BOOM! I'm viewing my cameras!
What a POS. Seriously, everything this company does is complete garbage. Why does this app DEMAND all of these permissions to run? I just want to look at my $@& cameras, doofuses, YOU DONT NEED ANY PERMISSIONS FOR THAT. Oh and if you try to go web, guess what? FLASH REQUIRED. In 2019. I wish this company would go out of business and that everyone in upper management ends up sweeping floors for a living.
Broken Someone decided to update some stuff without checking whether or not it broke other things
Fails to connect most of the time.
Not as user friendly as it could be.
App keeps closing on me
Has not worked for weeks
Constantly crashes. NVR fails to connect 95% of the time. I haven't had problems with Digitalwatchdog systems up until now.
No matter what I do it never works. It just says network error. Very frustrating!
Works great with our 16 channel VMAX IP NVR. The Android Nougat update broke this app, but they eventually updated the app and all is well again.
I had the iOS version installed and working without any issues. But after I installed on my Google Nexus 5x and use the same configuration.it keeps saying " it is a network issue". My phone can access anything online except this app.
Told Digital Watchdog Tech Support that the App doesnt work with Android version 7 over a month ago. Still no change. ANDROID VERSION 7 USERS BEWARE.
After update to Samsung 7.0 doesn't work
If you're considering installing cameras, and the salesperson says "Oh yes! It goes straight to your phone! ...We use Watchdog's VMax!" Kick that salesperson in the teeth and throw him out. This is decent by early 2000's standards. This interface is clunky, minimal, and not user-friendly. The search function for dates is compressed heavily so hard to press by normal fingers without hitting the wrong hour or minute. Didn't get the right time? That's ok, you can fast-forward! SLOWLY! VHS tapes could fast-forward or rewind faster and with more accuracy. But at least you can screen-capture the image you need. The problem is the PNG image has then been saved to an area of your phone incongruous with your phone's interface. According to VMax's own help line (thanks Brad), you will need to download a separate file service app to find it! Good luck hunting! Basically this company is running by the 'ol Blackberry Phone means of survival: large commercial/corporate contracts with outdated tech and little-to-no means of updating the interface.
