Vocal Ease

En route to your concert or public speaking engagement? Ready your best performance in 5 basic steps with VocalEase! A legendary vocal trainer isolated the most essential classical techniques known by professional singers around the globe, into an easy travel exercise you can use in your car, hotel room, just about anywhere!
Don’t leave yourself gasping and straining. Start slowly with our lip trills, mums, and hums. Improve your passaggio on a moments notice, give your audience and yourself the best possible performance, no matter the musical style.

VocalEase media files were produced to be enjoyed using headphones, earbuds, or through a good-quality iPhone-friendly car audio system. This is also why audio volume is adjustable via iPhone’s hardware controls."

Note From Arnold:This is a vocal warm-up that now you'll always be able to access. It can never replace you teacher, but it will get you ready to work at a moments notice. Use this application for a quick prep in your home or hotel, en route to you job, or back stage before a performance or session.

I've studied for more than 30 years with a good variety of teachers, and I've learned in that time, that if I don't warm up the muscle, I run the risk of hurting it. Just as all athletes warm up before performance, so must singers and public speakers.

The lesson is self-explanatory and over time, just emulating the sounds will get you used to the exercises. Starting slowly with the lip trills, mums, and hums, gently moves air through the vocal folds without pushing too hard in the beginning.

When doing your exercise the most important thing to think about is keeping the soft pallet up, and the larynx (or the Adams apple) down. Keep the feeling of a yawn, or beginning of a sneeze.

Most singers have the greatest challenge mixing head voice and chest without a noticeable change in the sound. This is known as the passaggio, or passage. One should be able to move from chest to head without changing sound quality.

For most of us this is the continued work. The work never ends; we just do our best in the practice.

A solid foundation of classical singing technique helps to build strong breath support and vocal chord health, insuring a long and varied career no matter the musical style.

"Miss your warm up one day and you know it. Miss it 2 days and the band knows it. Miss it 3 day in a row and the audience will know it!"

The actual scales and articulation are on-point but dude: 1. Why would you use an app with your own voice on it to practice 2. If he did use it every day, he would know it's pretty inefficient to hear the same banter every single time without any way to skip it 3. It's John's dog

Apart from Hussey's invented Italian ("A Marie li mia bella" makes zero sense in Italian. Maybe he meant "A Maria, la mia bella" the app Is quite nice and has some quick exercises you can do in the car or when you wake up in the morning. Practical, short and easy

It's an amazing program but do you spread them thru out the week? Cause there so long that it would take 4 hours to complete. I've email several times but don't get answer, I'll give the 5 stars if someone gets in touch!

Extremely solid. Makes your voice ready for anything, speaking, singing or screaming. Used for many, many years and still my number one go-to.

One feels in good company waking up with your exercises. Tried other singing app but somehow I seem to always come back to this one.

I can't turn it off. I have used it before but tonight l couldn't turn it off. The only way to get it to stop was to uninstall it.😞

This has been a paramount app for my vocal performances in the last few years. Very easy to pick a time range of exercises that fits any schedule. I wish I could have the playback toolbar active the whole time (it will disappear after awhile), but other than that I really love the app.

Ok, the good points: good explanations and good exercises. Bad points: same things others have pointed out - endless nattering and no way to stop play until section is complete. Had it only one afternoon and seriously considering dropping it. Will give it a free weeks and see if it grows on me.

Was recommended by a diction professor. For me it was an easy in to singing for someone who has anyways dreamed of singing but felt was always missing adequate training. Even after years in the choir lost in the crowd. Couldn't affordprivate lessons. The intervals are super fun after the warm ups and exercises. Something I never could have done on my own. Thanks so much for this. More please!

I used to do a demanding gig as lead vocalist of Tower Of Power. Now I'm with Average White Band. I use this app before every gig. If you want to maintain your voice this is perfect. And it's much cheaper than seeing a doctor after straining your vocal chords!

Pretty simple app, but this is my favorite of all the vocal warmup apps I've tried. The older version sometimes crashed, but that seems to be fixed now. I don't mind the talking others have mentioned; there's not THAT much of it and I find it endearing. Love the interval exercises! More exercises please!

Edited again. Permanently UNINSTALLED - since 2 moths ago as still no fix. Tried several un installs - first install plays fine but then will not stop playing until it has gone through each & every lesson in its category - or you manually switch the phone off. but once that stop button dissappears from view there is no retrieving it and you are destined to have to go through each lesson in sequence. All of the most beneficial vocal warm-ups and drills right on your phone. I also appreciate the commentary, as even professionals have areas that they must work harder to maintain than other areas. Familiar and brilliant.

This is a great warm up for the midrange voice. I use it regularly and the exercises have smoothed out my passagio. If I use either the warmups or exercises before a rehearsal or performance, I am guaranteed to be in shape to sing when I get there.

Warn up and exercises have help lots, but want more.

Well done Arnold, this is the best version so far and surprisingly very close to my first teachers instructions. Since restarting your exercises I've began to remember all the basics my teacher taught me in the beginning. two Thumbs up!
