Voice Analyst

This is the leading app to record and analyse the pitch and volume of your voice.
It is an essential tool for singers, people with Parkinson’s Disease, voice difficulties or transgender.

* Record your voice and see your pitch and volume in real-time.
* Analyse your voice to show min/max/average pitch and volume (more measurements to come in later versions)
* Zoom in on any part of a recording to analyse in detail.
* Save your recording for replaying and analysing later. Voice Analyst was created by a Speech and Language Therapist who wanted to make her voice therapy sessions more effective and efficient. It has been recommended as one of the 6 best iOS singing apps for singing teachers (Anne Leatherland, Vocal Process Limited).

Voice Analyst is easy to use and provides immediate visual, acoustic and statistical feedback of voice quality. The frequency response is from 60Hz to 2Khz and volume up to 120dB. Tests have proved Voice Analyst's pitch detection to be accurate to within 5 cents (or 5% of a semitone) across the full spectrum of speech. As a comparison the best human hearing can detect 8 cents.

Speech Tools Limited's lead Speech and Language Therapist is Samantha Brady who qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2001 (PGDip, City University) and gained her Masters in Speech and Language Therapy in 2006 (MSc, City University). She has a wealth of experience of working in a variety of settings and her area of clinical expertise is adult neurology and voice. Samantha is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), HPC Registered (SL10250) and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Certified (LSVT).

If you are concerned about the quality of your voice, you should see your doctor and request a referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialist.

- Gives a different min/max/average pitch when loading the same audio clip - 10+ second load times per clip - Can't export clips without first opening them, exporting takes an extra 10+ seconds - Pressing back while loading causes the app to softlock, preventing UI inputs - Can't access saved data via file browser, you have to use the built in share feature - Using the above gave me a clip that read as an hour long yet only contained 1min of voice (for what was a 30 second clip)

The real time frequency thing in the bottom right doesn't work. Works on the free version though. Edit: Yeah, no, it's basically just every aspect of this app is totally broken. Stick with the free version DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Decent app .. gives great objective feedback. One suggestion .. hard to work out how to input target values. Suggest you change the colour of the 2 characters where you can change the value, to yellow, leave rest of screen white. Otherwise great app.

This app was recommended by my speech pathologist, and it works great. My only issue is the lack of versatility. It could do with some more settings... One thing that I would find fantastic would be the option to set a line at a particular frequency, to act as a guide or a goal line that can be used for certain exercises, like maintaining or staying above a certain pitch, similar to those that I do with my speech pathologist.

This is a handy tool for working on control and change of your intonation and volume. I like the min, max, range, and average Hz stats.

This is a very useful app and I recommend it for all my voice clients. The development team has been responsive to requests and they keep making the app better!
