No complaints Dan w/ the app - thanks it works well. My post is to see if you have ever considered adding the option of emailing the VM file. This is an option in the premium Ooma service but would prefer not to incur the recurring extra $10/month for the one extra thing I need. Not much of a programmer, but I can steal scripts and borrow ideas with the best of them. Was thinking of looking to see if Android will let me run a scheduled task that looks for new files in the folder where your VM messages are saved - and then picks them up and emails. On my S6 phone they show in the /storage/emulated/0/oomavm folder. The app was affordable. Would be happy to repurchase a new version w/ new features. W.
Not perfect but works well. Thanks to the developer for sharing this useful tool. Would love to see an option to send the mp3 to Google's speech to text API and display a transcription.
No way to get assistance but they took the money... access denied when attempted login.
Says Login DENIED But doesn't say why.
Works perfectly fine for my purpose. All I need is notification of any voicemails left on the Ooma machine, and this app delivers. If someone called, and didn't leave a message, quite likely it wasn't important, and so, I don't need to know who called. Although, I have seen missed call notifications by this app.
I've been using this for about a year now, and it has been a great way to keep on top of calls and messages coming into the home phone when I'm on the go (or when my daughter is monopolizing the home phone!) The UI is pretty basic - but the base functionality is exactly what I needed.
Simple and works well. Liked it better than the app Ooma has to offer. The developer responded quickly when I had a question.
I tried using the official Ooma app, but the official app is so unreliable I came back to this app. The Voicemail Checker for Ooma app will reliably notify me of missed calls and voicemails. Thank you to the developer!
Does exactly what I need! Stock Ooma app was killing my battery. All I wanted was to check voicemail. This is perfect. Nice work!
I'm now getting "Voicemail Checker for Ooma: login denied" messages as well. First time I've had an issue. Hope it can be resolved quickly.
Orig Review feb2016. This is the first app I've paid for. Sure it's only 99 cents but I believe I've wasted my money. I get notifications of missed calls and voice mail a day late. When I check the voice mail archive the saved messages are in random order. Is it that difficult to put them in chronological order? Fix these issues and I'll adjust my review. UPDATE: 30aug2016 and my saved messages are still in random order. Thanks for putting in no effort to fix this :(
Great app. I don't usually pay for apps, but this one was worth it.
Nice to have for those without ooma premier
This app is a great idea. however I am having some of the same problems mentioned here by others. Notification of missed calls and voice mails are not coming up promptly. Sometimes hours and even days after the call. If I go in and hit "check now" that usually works but obviously it would be nice to get notifications sooner. I should have to go in and check.
Been ok, until a few months ago. I'm getting tons of notifications of old calls and messages, for a line that receives at most one call a week. Just now I was prompted by a notification from a call received 11 months ago! Is anyone still working on this? I applaud the effort, but it's growing pointless.
I know I'm entering my password correct but not letting me log in
I love the service this app provides. I'd give it 5 stars for sure if the notifications it provides also had the caller id information of the person who left a message in the notification (name or number).
Works, unlike the ooma android app
Says what it does... No muss, no fuss...
Have had OOMA for years and glad someone stepped up to fill the void OOMA didn't fill.
For those who complain... Stfu. Works great, thanks to Dan. Well done.
This is a problem reported by others. I also get notified of new voicemails or missed calls when, in fact, they are actually old voicemails and missed calls. These are often voicemails from a month ago!!! Dan, can you please respond or look into this? Otherwise, I like the app. It is a nuisance to be notified of "old" voicemails.
I've upgraded to the LG G2 phone from the Samsung infuse, ago has worked great on both phones . Notorious of mused calls and also downloads the voicemail messages, On the G2, it allows me to share voicemail messages, and dial the callers number or the missed call, I send voicemail mom files in a text to my wife, great app!
I keep getting notifications for "new" voice mail messages that I have already listened to.
I almost lost a potential client because this app did not notify me of a voicemail.
The developer seems to have removed the missed call notification in this latest version. Cannot find this notification in the app even thought it is advertised as a new feature.
This is sooo much easier and better than the Ooma app. My only wish is that it had an internal player for voicemails, rather than using the music/player app. Going back to messages after playing leaves the current message still playing through my device, and I have to stop it through the notifications bar. Still, I'll live with that small inconvenience. The other option would be multi select on the message list so we could clear it out quicker. But this is so useful, thanks Dan
