Voipfone Softphone

I like the Voipfone service and have had my account for many years but this app is very poor indeed and needs more work to be a viable solution. Softphone just will not ring when a call is incoming. I've tried numerous times with many people. The caller gets a few rings and then goes straight to the answer service. On the plus side I get an immediate notification that I've missed a call. The interface is pretty clumsy and the colour scheme is awful!

This SIP app actually works. Unlike many others I've tried push notification work and I've never missed a call due to software short comings. The user interface is a bit clunky & basic and doesn't always present properly on my Note8. This could do with become more modern and able to scale better on larger screen devices, even tablets. But it works and that is the important thing.

Works fine when actually making a call. Otherwise it's really buggy, does weird random stuff in the background and crashes. Have had to force the app to stop many times due to repeated unwanted notifications and not being able to dismiss them. Come on voipfone this app hasn't been maintained or updated for years!

Works well on S9, only thing missing (that would be really useful) is the ability to set an outgoing identity (name), as it stands, my colleagues only see my extension number appear, not my name. Can't see anywhere to add a name.

Unfortunately when used on my Samsung S10 plus (running Android 9) all incoming calls failed with an engage tone when navigating away from the open app (app open in background). So no good for incoming calls but worked well for outgoing (and incoming when in app).

I saw some reviews here mentioning the app could let you see which device is doing what (assuming that means activities like uploading or downloading etc) and that's one of the main reasons I installed the app. But after installing it successfully I couldn't see anywhere this feature? Am I missing something?

Was fine until the recent update now it clashes with EE WiFi calling and also seems to interfere with WhatsApp and playing videos bizarrely as it always thinks it's in a call. So have removed until fixed.

this is a very unreliable application, myself and a colleague can have our phones next to each other and one phone will ring and the other one doesn't. but its not guaranteed which wont ring and sometimes both will ring

Sound/call quality erodes frequently and requires complete reset including setting up ALL DND settings. Hugely irritating if you have several as I do

closes itself won't connect with 4g so I've got to be on wifi to use it. im using a Huawei p20 pro so not an old phone please sort the issue's out.

Seems to be working. Needs a switch to turn registration at voipfone on and off as I use a different softfone when at home.

the quality of the calls is good. very reasonable prices to call abroad

Using on Samsung S8 seems to work for one day only, before then regecting calls after one ring.

The APP worked very well on my old 2013 Samsung S4 GT-19505 and it works just as well on my new A40.

This app works when I turn off WiFi, with WiFi on I can only receive calls when the app is open and the phone unlocked.

Very bad... fails to register and receive to send calls.

Excellent value for money, though call bundles bit expensive. Call Voip connection and call clarity is good, however GUI can be aesthetically improved, App keep going to sleep even after battery exemption.

Since they started killing off native SIP integration in new versions of android I've tried many SIP clients on the google market and this one seems to be the best. Finally a SIP client that does not disconnect every so often and overcomes network conditions by using push notifications instead. Result no (or few) missed calls. If you do happen to miss a call you at least get an instant notification. Brilliant! Sound quality excellent like it should be.

Had this setup by company IT. Now using it seems no way to change ring tone or vibration settings. Just plays very quiet jazz and i keep missing calls. Apparently iPhone version has setup menu. Also can't deactivate it. It is always on and has irritating notification icon that won't go away. Potential is great but poor usability.

Historically great. Changed to Android 7.1 on Samsung S8+. Calls occasionally dropping. Most annoying issue is that the screen is not locked when on a call, my face constantly triggers notifications etc. Now tricky to use.

Works ok but uses its own separate call log which is annoying if you want to return a call on your mobile.
