I had problem 3 times making the tickets. After I went out from the app for watch the 6 number code from the bank, the app of Volotea was re-re-re-reloading for minutes. At the end I decide to pay whit Paypal because i don't need to put code. Fortunately i have an account!
Slow response time and glitchy. If you have issues with your reservation best send a PM on Twitter. With email they just send automatic replies, some of which don't really make sense.
I must to do the booking process three times. App keep returning me to beginning. Force to add things and yes on the end convinces customer into mega.... Not clear at all. Should repeat observation that traveling for 5 days equals to more than 1w and one should carry 25kg check in bag warning, add 32€. TOO MUCH MARKETING IN APP DEVELOPEMENT!
After the update, the app won't open. Specifically, it shows that I haven't update the app (even if I've done it) so it won't let me continue further.
The experience is not super smooth, and the app is also dishonest. For example, if you don't add a luggage, it issues a warning that your trip lasts more than a week even if it is not true, requiring the user to double check everything.
I'm trying for hours to book a simple flight, the app and the website give repeated error messages and you get nowhere. Frustrating. At the end it somehow worked thanks to customer service by phone which was quick and efficient.
Glitched when trying to book, but then worked after restarting. Apart from that it was simple to book.
Asked me to login again and emptied my email and password so I tried to type them back except the email field was locked (and empty) and still required...
Overall a really good app, just takes a bit to update prices
Payment page issues, fares not clear with the app. Price keeps changing through booking process.
Useability of the boarding passes on the app are appalling. The boarding passes are not stored in the app (as in the Ryanair app and others) but are downloaded each time (internet connection required). This may be deliberate to persuade customers to buy a seat for the return so that they can print a paper copy or to pay up for a boarding pass at the airport when they are unable to display one on the mobile or tablet. Alternatively it may be sheer incompetence of the app developer.
its hard to believe, there are still so bad airlines apps in 2019!! -cant check in, just app doesnt want to start check in process -super slow -awful UX, its so clunky, cant easily find anything. flights in your profile section?? no check in button below iterinary?? photo of destination is from different city?? And im forced to go to the pc, hopefuly checkin there and print my boarding pass?? i havent printed even one boarding pass in last 4 years on hundreds of my european and world flights!!!!
The UI literally has a scroll box to select a country which makes me drag my finger over every individual country in a manual hand workout ordeal to be able to find my country. The list of phone prefix codes has the same horrible format, is not automatically prefilled by selection of country, and is not even sorted. I'm lucky I came across my country in that list by happenstance. Did any UX specialists look at this app?
Can't do online checkin. Page where I acknowledge I have no dangerous items does not show the box to click I understand. Doesn't fit on my screen and no option to decrease size or rotate screen to make it fit. Super annoying for travel and can't checkin on laptop and send to phone from website. Need paper tickets. Ugh. Fix and I'll gladly change my review.
Fast and easy to use
20.2.19 Edited review: Thank you for your quick response I was impressed you replied and fixed it so fast! :-) The app is working now and I was able to log in and dowload my boarding pass. I'll test the app fully over the next 2 days when travelling and of no hitches will bump to 5 stars. worst app of a flight company I've ever seen! nothing works properly. For example if press on boarding pass, the app starts to load indefinitely, then they appear but the app starts to load and reload the profile page which makes no sense at all. terrible app
what's the purpose of an app that won't let you to download boarding pass or manage reservation? the answer, of course, is that Volotea reserves the right to mine your personal data and contacts, sell that data and STILL price gouge you 30€ to print your boarding pass in person at the airport. it doesnt matter if you try try to check in early (3 days or 24 hours before your flight), or if you use app or website. unless you travel with a printer, you will be gouged 30€. thanks Volotea 🖕
The app is not compatible with older devices (Xiami Redmi 3s with android 6.0) so I had to use an android emulator to use it. The issue with compatibility is very important and Volotea must troubleshoot and provide the mobile service for every customer.
You can't even choose to download the boarding pass as pdf, it forces you to download it as jpg image (this happens on the mobile website too btw). Which is terribile because for people who aren't phone-savvy (like my mother) I want to download the pdf in order to print it for them, not a goddamn jpg that's not even 600px tall and when printed looks either extremely tiny or blurry if you enlarge it. You literally can't download a Volotea PDF boarding pass unless you're using a pc, it's absurd
Does not work on LG G6. According to Volotea's website boarding cards can only either be printed or be shown through the app. Showing the boarding card as PDF on the phone won't be accepted. The fact that the app doesn't work obliges travelers to look for an Internet Cafe, log into their accounts, and print their cards. That's a pain both for people on vacation and those on a business trip. Everything else about Volotea is great, what shame!
I ran into some trouble at first attempt to book but worked smoothly second time.
Won't let me check in without choosing seats (at a cost) even a day before the flight
I find it a bit disturbing that I can't see and open my boarding pass through the app for an flight I have already checked in. Also had troubles check in, and had to do it via browser.
Whenever there's any loading at all, the screen doesn't respond to touch. It's annoying if you can clearly see the page has already loaded.
Aftr a few days it stopped working and won't open anymore. I tried everything, switch off the phone or uninstall and reinstall the app. Nothing worked. Very disappointed.
I used the app before quarantine to buy to tickets to travel to France with my family (more than 564€). When quarantine came Volotea canceled our trip and gave us a voucher that we could use to buy our tickets again. I have used the voucher paying in total €414 and then realized cannot use the remaining chash since "the voucher has been used already". I have tried to contact the company by phone and sms and received no answer over the remain €150 left. Therefore I do not recommend this company.
I'm not really in the business of reviewing apps but this one is so unnerving I can't keep from expressing my deepest frustration about how bad it is. It's unresponsive most of the time, login fails, all too often you click on sthg and get "webpage not available". Low cost is another thing, this below minimum viable level. Hope their planes work better than this. Unusable.
