According to this, Volvo has never made an S40 in 2006. Otherwise, the manual would have listed it under that model year. What's more, when I download the manual for an '09 it doesn't even load the manual. I'm using the latest version of this app and Android 8.0. Not to mention the paper manual doesn't describe common things such as resetting the service reminder and even has factual errors. It's a shame they can't document their own vehicles well.
Last update has regressed the app. Sometimes will not start and you can't remote start the climate separately from remote starting the car when it is still plugged in charging. So you have to go out in the freezing cold to unplug the car so you an come back in to remote start it so the climate will work. Give me back starting the climate remote whilst car is still plugged in overnight please.
Works on my wife's phone, but not on mine. The app downloads 80% of the manual, and then when I open the manual, I get the "You need to download new content" followed by "you have the latest version". I have tried uninstalling, etc with no luck.
I was hoping for this to have vehicles for older than 2005. I am disappointed because my 90's estate vehicle is not there. Please add older models as a added feature, that is a thing that I would pay for. I do appreciate volvo making an application for owners manuals.
Seems good to me though you really need to use it on a large tablet rather than a phone. Edit. Please do not move this into the dreadful Volvo Car app. At least this works. And what happens if I decide not to pay for the Volvo Cars app? No access to manual?
-How to you get instant fuel consumption that all cars show? And litres of fuel consumed that cars used to show 15 years ago? - how do you hook up Android auto? - why does car receive neighbors WiFi but not my own? -start/stop - what is the A button for, if off car turns off if on car still turns off? - glovebox cooler no instruction on how it works? - how do you transfer mp3s to car hardisk - why don't radio stations retain their images jpg etc and need to refresh everytime - crawl mode how is.
Great when it works. Took way too long to fix their "download an update" bug, but that was fixed 9/25. It works great now.
It's simply a functional, digital version of the owners manual that every car comes with. I suppose it's handy if you have lost yours.
Good idea to digitalize old manuals, very handy when you need to look up let's say a fuse rating on the go. Too bad it only goes back to 2005.
L. E. Why it's so hard to update the app in the future? Your cars costs us an arm and a leg and you have no money to maintain a simple app? Shame on you really...
I used it via the Volvo On Call app and it picked up the right manual. The manual itself is laid out and explained well and contains a good amount of detail.
There is only one tiny 2 page "insert" on emissions for an '05 XC90. No actual manual. If it's available on the website, how difficult would it be to import the PDF to this app?
Nice to have around when the manual is not handy. Cars have so many features and options these days you have to have the manual to hand.
Update loop still occurring for me even after 9/25 update. This has been a useless app for the three months of my Volvo XC40 ownership. Disappointing that this is still not resolved...
Videos are not working in this app, which is not good and why it only gets three stars. Other info is good and clearly written but the lack of video hinders the app
Great information but there are places the English is confusing. all in all a solid go to app for info.
Simply does not work. Every time I try to download the manual for my new car I get the message "An unknown server error ocurred"........
Gotta say, pretty nice for a car mfr to make an app for the manual. Nice to have as reference for a car with 80,000 features.
So handy to have your vehicle owners manual on your phone, and being able to search it is also very useful!
As today October 7, 2019 there still no manual available for the 2019 S60 Inscription. I mean the 2020 S60 is out.. This is very far from Volvo standard, way too far... Please catch up ... fast, please!
Simple electronic version of manual a nice upgrade would be tailored version for each specific version with options
well my 1999 Volvo V70 is not even an option when choosing your model to get the manual...so i guess this app will not help me in the slightest way... uninstalled!!!
Update loop fixed. So far so good. FOR THOSE STILL EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE: UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE APP.
Embedded links do not work. Prefer something I can read that does not require batteries.
Won't Download 2010 S80 does sometjong for a split second then says error code 103 or 105 bummer some reveiws are good was hoping to be able to use it.
have tried 3 times installing it and am unable to use it because stuck permanently downloading the V60 2018 manual and never completes
Not perfect but certainly an excellent handy reference.
It's exactly what it says. All of your car manual in an app!
Love it! Makes it so easy to find what you're looking for.
With this app I have the full and complete manual in my pocket. Since my original printed one is in swedish which I don't speak (I imported my used V70 from Sweden) it's also my only source of information for my car. However, this app is basically just a simple PDF-viewer and has a few flaws: The search functionality could be improved, it's slow and doesn't offer an overview of the results - you have to skip through all the pages where the searchterm appears until you get to the page you where looking for - cumbersome if you use a broad searchterm. Also the pagenumbers in the "view-by-page"-function should match the pagenumbers in the actual manual - it's always a few pages behind the table of content which is irritating/confusing. Overall the app is very useful but also lazily programmed as it doesn't offer much convenience compared to looking at a pdf-document - an app could offer much more functionality for easy reading and looking up information.
