This plugin only looks for remote server on the wifi (wlan) interfaces, while completely ignoring the ethernet (eth) ones.
First of all, hardware decoding laggs a lot while using your uPnP plugin: after some time the picture falls into pixels and then totally crashes. Software one works OK, but the picture in HD has a low fps
Update: it doesn't load any file now. I was looking for one solution that can play videos stored in network storage. This plugin combined with vplayer works nicely. However it couldn't stream audio files well from the same server so missed the 5 stars.
It just flat refuses to play MPEG TS files from the Humax HDR-FOX T2. Used to but hoping it can be fixed.
I use a TV Stick (Tronsmart T428) and it is connected to the network on cat5. This plugin can not find any servers unless I switch to wifi. Please fix!
One thing which drives me insane. The App icon is ugly! Can it be the same icon as the base VPlayer? Ability to save favourite folders?? This way I don't have to keep going through MediaServerName>Folder>Folder... every time, I would rather just see my favorite folders, so I could use one tap to get to the current series of TV Shows I am watching, also the ability for a custom name that shows up under the favourites list. ie. If i save "Season 5" folder, I can rename it in my favourites as "Parks and Recreation Season 5"!
This app has been very stable over the years, but the most recent version no longer plays videos if the buffer is set to zero. Will rate higher once this is resolved.
Works perfectly. I wanted an app that would connect to my wireless storage to play video. It found my storage (My book live. WD) It also played the video without me having to convert. It would probably be 5 stars but I havent checked all the formats. But avi, flvs, mkvs are working also one that was showing a 0 for play time in other apps played flawlessly including anime subtitles. I installed the player and the upnp dnla plugin
To view the resourse good. But it is better to use something like Airwire. Where there is a browser and player.
Does not go both ways... only receives does not send to other devices... quite useless
I love it.
Thanks
All other uPnP/DLNA tools work fine on all my devices where this one doesn't work on any of them. This has not worked since it was converted to a plugin, none of the updates since have fixed it. Sadly it use to work great in the old versions before the split.
Annoying as this is now plugin. So now 3 options to select instead of one. Bring it back as menu option. Also slower than previous version.
This app works very well on my note 10.1. The UPnP plugin is a bit buggy sometimes but overall it's a great free app.
Used to be well integrated, now deeply buried in the menus. Not fun to use anymore. Better use a standalone DLNA app.
Why use a seperte plugin for something that was built in the last version, recall cumbersome. I don't mind using plugins to personalize the app as long as there are integrated within the main app eight having to dig into menus.
V2 was an order of magnitude faster. Unacceptable drop I'm performance on a paid app.
This app works fantastic. Even nicely integrated with es file explorer. Now I can stream straight from my HP server with no buffer issues or lags.
When using Windows Media Player to serve the media files, this plugin fails to detect the server, while other android media player (Skifta) was able to play the media file on my computer.
Watching videos works fine, but the video overlay seems to have some glitches here and there on the Nexus 4.
Since upgrading to v3 where dlna feature is shifted to plugin, no longer recognizes dlna server/plex when all other devices do. Plugin architecture a waste of space when it used to be embedded feature in the single app. now we no longer have 2 downloaded apps (if paid version owned).. but now have 3 apps to download which should just be 1.
Can see my content that us on my windows 7pc... But not play it... Rubbish
Don't need another icon cluttering my app drawer. Integrate into vplayer or hide the icon from the app drawer.
Maybe the upnp in top nav is better @@
Use it all the time
Won't find my dvbviewer dlna server, old version did so does other players. Piece of crap.
I have been using it for the last few years. It is stable and works well with my WD Play, WD Hub and minidlna
