Will not connect to servers anymore. Troubleshooting didn't help, just made it slower to attempt to connect somehow. Makes 3 attempts to connect then asks for feedback. Tried 50+ times to connect and all were failures. It usually never connects when using the quick tile connect option from the pull down menu, but once I closed the app and then opened it from the app list, it would connect. But now, it does not. I can't even send feedback from the app cause the captcha is broken and doesn't work
The quick settings button never works. When I tap it, nothing happens at all. If I manually open the PIA app and connect, the quick settings button will then work to disconnect and reconnect for a short time. But after a while, it won't work again. On NordVPN it worked 100% of the time and I never needed to launch the app to connect to VPN.
I love PIA VPN. The app has been really good on my Galaxy Note 9 and S22 (not to mention Windows 10 and 11). PIA VPN has excellent service and fast speeds at a reasonable price. My only gripe with the app is it disconnects sometimes without reconnecting. The only time I notice is when I have it set to block all connections that don't go through the VPN. Overall this is a minor inconvenience, because I always check to make sure it is enabled before I do any sensitive transactions, etc.
Like some of the other users, I was also unable to get my phone to connect to the vpn. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it requested the permissions again and now it works perfectly. I assume the settings got messed up with the last update. No problems at all now. I hope this works for other people too.
It worked great for a while. Now the app is unusually buggy and it doesn't actually connect to the VPN service, just gets stuck in a loop of connect disconnect connect disconnect and so on. I'm glad I got the promotional discount they were offering at the time cause I'd want my money back if I didn't. But even then I'm paying for it, would be nice if it functioned the way it was supposed to. Please try fixing the bugs.
Does everything it's supposed / advertised to do. As far as I can tell directs internet traffic where I'm asking it. Has, as far as I can tell, most if not all of the features of the desktop app. It's definitely a worthwhile investment for all of my devices. It's not without minor hitched here and there, but no software is absolutely perfect. (Review for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra)
Nearly perfect. Given how well PIA performs network-wise, I am often diappointed in their software. Not all of us are CLI wizards and that goes double on mobile; we depend on a streamlined GUI client to protect our privacy. While I'm confident in the encryption and connectivity, many bugs appear in the features of both the linux and android apps. Per app settings currently don't work on Android 12. It has been an issue for several months. I look forward to PIA devs polishing this small blemish.
I was originally very happy with the service. Then all of a sudden the mobile app stopped connecting. The most frustrating thing was not being able to get in touch with technical support due to a broken Captcha on the email form and no other obvious way to contact. So I'm leaving a 1 star review in the hopes someone replies to me and I can either get this sorted or I will cancel my subscription and use another VPN service.
Fix the bug that expires and suspends an account that's on automatic payments before the automatic payment happens. It would be very easy to fix this bug that redirects you to a payment page even though you're subscribed and making automatic payments via PayPal. I've contacted support about this but I don't know if this bug even made it to the backlog. Simple date math.
I was told I had to choose to pay a new monthly rate or pay a yearly rate with a 7 day free trial. I recently discovered however that I had already paid the previous rate for this month. Thinking my subscription expired I went ahead and paid the yearly rate with a 7 day free trial. On top of all this the app will no longer open on my phone. Unless this is remedied I'll have to get a refund for this month and the year as the app is currently unusable... The VPN was good while it worked...
Apps missing from Per App support. Update: 3/28/2022 The latest version 3.14.0 still has the per app issue where it doesn't show certain apps. In fact it seems to only show a hand full of non-system apps. Update: 4/2022 Still missing apps from Per App section. Specifically YouTube and YouTube Music. What in the world happened to PIA? My subscription renewal is coming up this year and I'm starting to think if this is the new normal that till go somewhere else.
Website says you can "Easily" view all your content. Definite gross exaggeration. I have failed to connect to and watch shows on Amazon Prime on multiple tries. Primes know its a VPN and refuses to connect. I chatted with support and was told to try multiple sites and change multiple settings (remote UDP & remote TCP) until I found a site that wasn't black listed. Yeah right. So much for "EASILY" "VIEWING ALL MY CONTENT. Chat guy refused to give me a specific site or settings .
I've been using this app for almost 2 years now and have not had any issues. If there's ever an outage or a app problem customer service is on top of it and actually takes care of you in the process. I've recommended this app to many people for it's ease of use, security, and more importantly privacy. I currently hold a yearly subscription and will maintene that for the foreseeable future.
This is the 4th VPN I tried. All others were slower and inconsistent. This one costed a bit more, but it was worth every penny. Plus it's usable on 10 devices. 5/5 would recommend.
Android app is broken. Doesn't connect to any servers. The Windows client works fine. The PIA feedback form also didn't work... Captcha fails validation every time, even when I enter the correct value.
Update... After 6 months, the per App/Split Tunnel option in android is still not fixed ! Great app... But... It would be a 5 star app if the "per app settings" would work with all installed apps. It only displays basic android related apps, not play store installed apps. This problem appeared 4 updates and almost 6 months ago. Please fix this issue ! As soon as possible ! If the "per app setting" issue is fixed, I rate this app 5 stars again.
PIA is is really bad on windows, the killswitch feature is so delicate, it works under very specific conditions, if left to work overnight( like you left it downling stuff), it will disconnect , which isn't the worst part,you would assume killswitch kicks in and stops data leakage right .??, no!! Its leaks out everything , then when you click on PIA icon it starts blocking data as if it was blocking all along. I liked this software until this incident. I cant trust this app anymore. 😡
It has been working well for the most part but at times It won't connect to certain websites specifically on a mobile phone. Laptop is always on key and works great.
I can't connect to many places like Reddit with VPN enabled. On desktop there's a built-in DNS resolver that removes this problem, but is absent from the Android version. Please fix this (sorry if it has)
Had some issues with a recent update but support was able to resolve eventually. As far as a vpn goes, it's very good and allows me to virtually fly around to world to access different geolocked content...
It's just a great VPN, really affordable. Zero records, they been to court a few times and just flat said, we don't like keep records. Works perfectly. I found a sale 3 years for 80 bucks and you can use it on phone laptop and PC. They are constantly updating them all to stop sites like YouTube that collect data from banning their ip's.
I have been using PIA for several years now. Connection speeds are great, zero downtime issues, device resource utilization is low, and the price is fantastic. I have recommended this to many many friends and family. Best VPN on the market!
Does what it's made for! Best value. Ticket support is very good. I really like the multi-platform service. I use on Linux, Windows, iOS, and Android. No major issues; some minor issues, yet for me that is expected from a high Security product.
Got to be one of the best VPN services I've used. Great speeds from os severs, works on win & Linux as well as Android. I've used them for years. There policy on data retention/ privacy as well as speeds are a contributing factor to choosing PIA.
While the app is easy to use and looks nice, unfortunately it just doesn't work. VPN connection attempts fail frequently and when they do connect, it doesn't do much. It'll either bottleneck my connection speed or just not work. For things like Netflix and other streaming sites, it doesn't unblock region-blocked content. However, I'd still recommend giving the free trial a shot if you still want to give the app a chance. But for me, it didn't work.
It's a great app that Is perfect for masking your ip. It also has a lot of different servers to connect to. And when you connect to them it barely lags.
I have been subscribed to Private Internet Access for more than 3 years now, but during the last months the Android app has become unusable. It sometimes refuses to connect to any server, sometimes freezes completely, just changing some parameters make the app lag. I have an Oppo Reno, far from the worst smartphone in terms of CPU performance and memory, so I don't understand how the app can make it laggy. I'm not paying anymore for this VPN, they should have keep the apps simple and light..
