Subscription doesn't work! Android version 9. Thank you very much for your support! After clearing the app data of play store app, the vpn client pro subscription worked again but after first restart I got an encryption error regarding keystore is malfunctioning, so I cleared app data of vpn client pro app and I restored the configuration, now seems to work again! I will see... After latest update and restart had the same issue error regarding keystore is malfunctioning and for the second time i had to clear data of the app and resore backup!
Easy to set up on my Android phone and a Chromebook. I have only (needed) to use the OpenVPN features which are add free and which just work with my Archer VR600 TP-Link router. The arcane settings are taken care of with the defaults and exported connection profile, so it just worked. It is nice to be using my own ISP services even when abroad. I can access my home network when out of the country too. The speed penalty seems insignificant for me. It also let's me use my own OpenDNS setup.
The one and only option for me. Tried the major apps for OpenVPN and none worked 100% the way I wanted and none was possible to work with home wifi (or at least offered quick and simple built in way to shut it down based on rules). This app seems to have it all. I don't know why it was never recommended anywhere when I googled...
Does not work. When connecting got error: 2022-05-28 21:59:00 Ошибка открытия устройства tun: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: At least one address must be specified 2022-05-28 21:59:00 ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun 2022-05-28 21:59:00 Exiting due to fatal error
Is it possible to add an option to subscribe to a fixed url to get backups automatically? We can get backups from urls right now, but we have to enter the address and password every single time.
Great auto-connect /disconnect. This seems to only app to offer such features. Automatically disconnect VPN on a mobile network. And re-connect automatically on WiFi, with the possibility to create exceptions for predefined known networks. You never need to check your VPN anymore. Plus with the switches can force simply a vpn connection overriding the autoconnect
Unless the app requires costly upkeep (e.g. servers), subscription is not the way to go. Especially when free alternatives are easily available and accessible. Too bad though--loved the old app & really wanted to support this. To the dev: millions of apps have continual improvements--that's the only reason people continue to use them. That doesn't justify a subscription. I'd happily pay a one time fee, but as the comments make clear, you've lost far more money and loyalty with this choice.
Redicules. To demand a yearly subscription to use a protocol is insane. What a scam. I may have payed a small amount for the pro app.. But a subscription. Are you completely insane. Uninstalled in 2 min
Developer Annoyance.. Pulled the previous, 'one-time-purchase' application from Google Play so it can't be used anymore, forcing previous customers to re-buy with the 'new' subscription model..
the app used to work nonstop, but now it stops working and loses connection around every hour. i believe thereʼs an issue with the ram usage of the app, because my phoneʼs ram performance hasnʼt at all downgraded and this problem has started to appear since the past two updates, if iʼm correct. other than the ram issue, your app is great. please optimize the ram usage.
Great client with impressive, important and frequent updates, just a few bugs here and there. one that bothers me most is that when i try to remove some vpn profiles the app crashes and closes and only a few of those profiles get removed and the other selected ones remain. I also wish that there'll soon be an option that allows you to choose to replace new vpn profiles with older vpn profiles that have the same name, group or type name.
Bizarre upgrade process. The legacy app is unlisted in search results so it is really hard to install when I switch phones, and there's currently no way to get a perpetual license for all features that I've already paid for in the new app. Subscription model is a real bastardization when the core foundation of this app is built on open source software. What have you contributed back to the open source projects recently? Show me that you give back, and maybe I'll agree to a subscription.
This app is literally the best in class when it comes to VPN configuration and implementation in Android. I'm far more confident in what is happening on my phone using this app than any of the custom proprietary apps that the VPN providers supply, and in addition, you have total control over every aspect of how your connection is configured. Those complaining about pricing changes to a subscription based model clearly cannot appreciate the development time that goes into this app. Great work.
The log was disabled. I did everything I could with the settings to make this stop. The issue has spanned multiple versions, back to the old app. Sorry, but I'm fed up at this point, and that is why I left this review... so it can be fixed. I've gone back to ovpn in the meantime, which doesn't cause these issues. You can remain in denial of it all you want. I quite simply won't subscribe to this app any more, which is disappointing considering I used it for years before this started happening.
I'm enjoying this VPN app. It's easy to connect
Forcing everyone to pay every year is a misguided attempt at locking in money, but you can do this by providing every purchase up to 1 year of paid updates then the version locks until the next purchase. This is much more palatable than how it's currently worded. I won't support this model on principle.
Why are you charging a monthly subscription fee for basic vpn functionality. If you want to monetize charge a one time fee. Not everything is worth a subscription price. You're chasing the wrong revenue model. You're not providing a service like Netflix or Spotify. This is completely overpriced for what it offers.
I have been using this app for years even back when it was originally called “SSTP VPN Client” and you could buy it as a one-time purchase. Now you have to pay for the app through an in-app purchase and it’s a yearly subscription. I don’t mind that too much however in my case I am running a custom ROM (GrapheneOS) with MicroG (doesn’t support in-app purchases) and because I do not have Google Play Services installed the new app will not run. This is very disappointing to me because the old app “SSTP VPN Client” works just fine without needing Google Play Services installed because it didn’t rely on in-app purchases. Due to this issue anyone running a custom ROM will not be able to use the new app “VPN Client Pro”. I have been in contact with the developer in the past about other issues that I had and he was very helpful then however regarding this issue there was nothing he could do because of the new subscription model that he is using. I personally really enjoyed using this app but now I am unable to so I switched to another free alternative app developed by John Vincent Diaz called "MS-SSTP VPN" (so far I haven’t had any issues). I would recommend the same to anyone who is running a custom ROM or doesn’t want to pay for a yearly subscription.
the subscription method make sense if you also provide the VPN Account with it!, you are charging a subscription for something that is already out there for free, your business plan is not good, i am not using any vpn anymore but if I had seen that you ask for extra fee for new vpn protocols I would pay but as a lifetime feature not as a subscription! your app was the most expensive vpn client with new features which we bought and we also helped you to make it bug free or suggested new protocols
App is very buggy. Bought subscription, tested tap connection and everything worked untill I've stoped vpn conn. Second try to start vpn connection was asking again for subscription which is pretty...bad. If app is removed then installed works well but...is not the right solution. QA team should do the job before publishing apps/updates. Thanks
Edit: Old review was not fair. I was angry. Tbh, the developer keeps maintaining the app and is doing a really great job ! Got a new phone and now I cannot use the app without the need to pay a yearly subscription !! I bought the app and was using it without any issues. I understand that it requires ongoing development, but I already own it ! Changing the policy/terms for someone who already bought the app is not acceptable.
I'm installing this on two similar devices. One is running Android 7.1 The other runs Android 8.1. Oddly, the VPN connection will not automatically start and connect on the 7.1 machine, but does on the 8.1 machine. Any ideas as to why this is the case? I reallyneed it to autostart and connect on both devices.
Thank you for the new app. I like it and believe its a small price to pay for the quality. that being said, I was a previous user and took advantage of the discount for previous users. My card was declined and now I do not have the option for the reduced subscription amount. Could you assist me with this? *Resolved. thanks Dev!
Please help and guide me. My phone is android 11 and when i description. This error shown. Billing error: Google Play In-app Billing API version is less than 3
It's great. The only problem is WireGuard protocol in premium features. It always disconnects "Wireguard" protocol after a while. ⭕ UPDATE❗: THANK'S FOR REPLY. PLEASEE CHECK WIREGAURD. IT'S STILL DISCONNECT AFTER 10-12 SECs.
There are a lot of people complaining about going to subscription. the annual subscription proposed seems to be ~$7yr or $3.50yr if you bought the older app. To be honest, as long as the cost is low/reasonable I don't mind this IF it means guaranteed ongoing attention from the developer for an app that I rely on. At $3.50/yr I think that's not bad. $7/yr is pushing it. However, this is the type of app that requires timely ongoing maintenance for security.
it is a very good app and thank you for creating this good app. it has 2bugs and that's the reason why I rate it 2 stars. 1- when importing open vpn profiles from a zip file it doesn't let me connect or enter username and password. 2- saving username and password for all vpn profiles dosen't work at all and I have to enter username and password again and again. please fix these as soone as possible. device samsong galecxy a72 android 12 with oneui 4.1
