VR Mobile - Vibration Testing
INCLUDED FEATURES:
Strobe Light and Flashlight
- Strobe your device's screen and/or flash LED from 1
- 30 Hz. Strobing helps one to see objects vibrating too fast for the eye to see.
- Turn your device's screen and/or flash LED into a flashlight; this makes a conveinient flashlight during test setups.
- NOTE: Not all device's LED flash can be controlled by the VR Mobile app.
Remote Interface:
- Remotely control VibrationVIEW from within the VR Mobile App (while on the same network).
- Start/Stop tests
- View graphs
- Adjust amplitude and frequency
Max Acceleration Calculator:
- Calculate the maximum amount of acceleration that a shaker (from a database or user input) can output based on the mass added to the system.
Unit Converter:
- Convert Acceleration, Force, and Mass units to and from common units.
Sine Calculator:
- Based on sinusoidal motion, calculate Acceleration, Frequency, Velocity, and Displacement by inputting any two of these values.
Shock Calculator:
- Pick between two impact types: Plastic or Elastic, and the pulse type. Shock Calculator will find the remaining two values given two inputs: Acceleration, Impact Time, Velocity Change, and Height Change.
Noise Meter:
- Measure minimum, current, and maximum dB from your mobile device's microphone. Note: A device must have a microphone in order to use this feature.
Accelerometer:
- Measure minimum, current, and maximum acceleration in each of your mobile device's accelerometer axes.
- Zero out acceleration to calibrate for an uneven surface.
Contact VR:
- See Vibration Research's building on Google Maps (or any other map application installed on your mobile device).
- Call, fax, or email VR directly from the app.
- Watch YouTube videos from VR.
- Visit VR's website.

Note: This application uses Google Analytics to anonymously track usage data within the application, which can be disabled in app settings.
Note: Camera Permission is for camera LED flash control, VR Mobile does not take pictures.

It doesn't have any facility to test vibration
This is a very good package of useful devices: sound level and vibration meters, strobe, and calculator. Nice functionality, no distracting adware. Minor quibble: the sound level meter does not do A-weighting, so measurements made have little correlation to sounds as heard by the human ear.
Fantastic app but needs updating as Bruel & Kjaer now own LDS, but there are no LDS shakers listed under B&K
maybe next release will include a sound alert
It needs a snapshot button on it.

(thanks for response, fair use of permissions, I repudiate previous comments, now look forward to update) Can't see why this app needs access to internet and camera? Please explain this in the description, it seems suspicious, and users should question intentions before installing app - until valid explanation provided, and is relevant to the functionality. In the meantime, I can only recommend steering clear of this app, especially if you are security and privacy conscious! Look forward to explanation.

I'm with Rijul. FFT would be excellent!! Great job with this - I was about to make a custom one myself (and still may), but this is more than I imagined. Great job!! FFT & Spectrum analysis like the SpectralPRO and it would be better. Order display would be asking too much :)
Very nice... Only issue I found is the strobe led doesn't work on the Bionic.

The app is very useful for my job when I need to do a quick test for different test setups. I only wish you add a flashlight to your app.
Excellent app. Very useful for sizing a shaker. Good calculator. Strobe is a nice addition as well. I can't believe its free.

Very intuitive interface
Doesn't register all axis, only one. Other apps on my nexus 7 work fine like they should. App is unresponsive at times as well. Reply: I wrote the review on my cell (on tablet now) but tried your app on both my nexus 7 & cellphone. My phone & tablet both work fine with another vibration app but not yours. Added star for replying.
Would be nice if the strobe could be a little faster and possibly have the ability to log in and watch webinars from the app would be awesome! Learning on the go is always a plus.
This app is fantastic! Only app on the market place that allows for a precise tuned strobe light. Must check it out!
Wow, pretty cool tool for field work. Would be nice if they add a rudimentary ability to view saved data. Currently you can only see active data.
