VRT NU

Extremely bad app. VRT has inefficiënt servers and almost impossible to watch. Even with dsl you get a pixelated image. Layout is illogical and horizontally, not suited for TV. This app is designed by amateurs. They should look into Auvio, french counterpart of the Belgian National tv. That one works perfectly.

Adding unskippable preroll ads in a public broadcaster app, in front of content made with public money is a shame.

Needs tuning and tweaking to make casting a smooth experience. The latest version made the responsiveness worse. When selecting a casting device, the app freezes. After a few seconds, the casting device can be selected but yet another delay to start the cast stream. I know this is all relevant when watching a movie but makes it a burden when you want to switch shows. Love the app but please make it more responsive (asynchronous is ok) Keep up the good work!

I used to love this app: good content and good player, but not long ago, they changed the player of the app, and it became impossible to load a previous chapter of the series you're seeing: the player recognises it as seen, and automatically sends you to the next chapter, sometimes even considering you have already seen it, leading to several spoilers. This happened to me already several times, so I decided to watch the content on my browser... Hope this will get fixed soon...

Very good content. The only problem I've had using the app is that sometimes it won't mark videos I've watched as seen. Particularly when casting to the TV. Also, if I start watching a video on my phone, then cast to the TV, the video will start from the beginning, instead of where I left off. Update: Watching the Journaal Laat on my phone and subtitles are huge, covering most of the screen and the bottom part of them is not even visible :(

Looks good at first sight but low quality. Chromecast is regularly unresponsive and even the workaround using the "Problem with casting" menu item doesn't always work. When watching delayed, now and then the end of the episode is just missing and playing stops, really frustrating. Contacted their support and it seems you have to wait for an hour or so to be able to watch the remaining part. So I think they misunderstood the concept of delayed viewing :S There are also problems when trying to fast forward or rewind using the timeline slider when watching delayed. I preferred older versions of the app. The UX was a lot better (without all these floating popups) and felt less buggy. Chromecast also works a lot better in other apps like VTM Go for example.

App is getting worse: it is extremely slow, it automatically starts a random new program once your program is finished, it suddenly stops casting in the middle of a cast, after you stop a program you can only start another program after restarting the app, ... The app seems to have nice features, but it is just not functioning properly. Bugs need to be fixed asap!

I use this app to together with a chrome cast but as of late, only a minority of the content will start to play, while the rest will start loading, but then just skips to next episode, where it will just just repeat the problem until about 5 or more episodes are skipped. After some troubleshooting it seems the 10 second sponsor won't load/play, resulting in skipping the current video and moving on to the next one where it tries to load (but fails to) the sponsor again

The current application automatically plays content I haven't requested ( if the last episode of a series is played the app switches to some random content ). Switching subtitles on can also trigger the application to switch content. Connection with chromecast or a smart TV is error prone. The menu on the programmes page doesn't always appear.

The Android TV version inexplicably doesn't have a search bar. Navigating the huge content library through a vague list of categories is painful.

Chromecast support is very poor: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (no chromecast icon). Other apps such as Youtube are working flawless with Chromecast. Really frustrating! Update 7/9: app is always crashing, shortly after start-up. Re-installation doesn't help (Android 10).

The app starts streaming programs by itself. Horrible

If I use this app to see the VRT channels in the cellphone it works ok, but if I tried to cast it to a tv using a Chromecast V3 it do not work. After several tries I realised that I needed to register my personal data on the VRT web throught this APP, then the communication with the Chromecast was established. It will be good if the app inform to the user that this registration step is needed.

I love this app, it works great on my phone and tablet. But given the content, I absolutely don't get why they don't make it compatible with Android TV. VRT content is the only thing that I lost when cutting the cord...

I still use it daily for casting, but the new version is VERY slow and unresponsive! :( Tip to other casters: use the remote control of your TV to pause/skip forward, it's faster than the app. VRT: if you need testers, I would love to help.

Great on tablets and phones. The cast function is good but not always. Live channels sometimes don't work. I love that there are subtitles because I am learning Dutch but On my android box (Scishion V88) I get "Unknown Error" if I try to watch anything. Please fix this :)

Chromecast does not work sinc the last update and the app is often unresponsive. It's really pity. I also find it strange that there is no easy shortcut to Het Journal and/or the latest news programmes.

If it works (casting) it's a great app with nice features, just don't get your hopes up! Chances are you'll run into one of the many bugs... Seems like the app is getting worse each year.

Great to watch the channels live. And more. Congrats on the good working app. Also the Google TV version, great! Now I can look on the device I want, because Proximus is a disaster on modern platforms. (And that one I pay for.. go figure..) Great great :)

Very nice and lots of content and all but casting is a mess.

Generally works really well, but casting to TV doesn't work anymore since upgrading to Android 10/Q. Still works with YouTube, so the problem is not the phone nor the TV.

Chromecast fails when all other apps work done

New version is extremely slow to the point of being unusable. Chromecast option doesn't work very well.

Not available for installation on Chromecast-TV. (checkout Auvio where and VTM GO that have the possibility) Casting via android phone to Chromecast-TV is a poor experience specially if your are on a 4G internet link.

very good visual interface, clear - just missing a search engine - the icon is there but I'm not able to type keywords ?? a pity

Easy to use and fast. The chromecast support is ok apart from live broadcast which often seems to cause short hickups.

Android users, forget the app, use the website. Use Chrome to go to vrtnu.be, there all works normally, and you can cast AND save the site as an app, so its almost as good as the app. The app works fine on IOS, iphone and iPad and casting to Apple TV.
