This app plays with a sped up audio that often makes the speakers sound like munchkins. It also stops for no reason and the story flow is interrupted. I've reinstalled the app, but the playback is still poor. Why has this not been fixed by now? I refuse to financially support a station that can play it's content properly and well.
WABE is an amazing station, but I've always found the app to be a bit lacking. I've reinstalled the app several times over the years and used different devices, but I've always run into a lot of bugs while using the app. For example, if I pause the or even stop a segment without completely exiting out of the app, it will play again on it's own, in about 5-10 minutes.
Intermittent & random loss of connection on Galaxy S7 & again on Galaxy S10 ... & again on Galaxy S21. Technical support is apparently unable to resolve ... :-( UPDATE: As ofJan 2022, the app still has the same flaky behavior, but now has a new pop-up saying it is unable to play due to a network issue. It happens when connected to WiFi or 4G & doesn't indicate what the actual issue is. Other apps continue to work when it happens, so that seems to indicate an inherent WABE app problem.
Been a long time user of the app. This latest update seems to play the audio at a faster speed than normal and probably why the audio sounds tinny and cuts out every so often.
This app is going to drive me to buy a radio. The audio stream cuts in and out, stopping for anywhere from around 1 to 30 seconds, every few minutes. I can stream HD video on the same wifi connection with no problems, so I know this is not a bandwidth issue. Additionally, on starting to stream, it pops up a full-screen, unclosable ad.
Periodically I will lose the audio for an audio only app. It is bad.
It's just ok. Cuts off occasionally but is a real pain with how it comes on after I've paused it and am on a call or do some other task.
Love being able to hear my NPR station wherever I go. The only minor problem is that it can be a little sketchy with connection, even in my house.
Well designed app but live playback has some issues stopping/starting at random times while open.
pretty good, but sometimes it stops and starts first no apparent reason, and sometimes doesn't shut off when I set the timer to shut it off. it might be device specific, I have it on 3 of them, android laptops are the worst.
Everytime I go from wifi to cellular data, the app stops and then starts after some time and plays the commercials first before playing the program. This happens a lot to me, so I constantly lose some portion of my favorite programs
good stuff; great for when the music gets old. Real news, real coverage, real good people. Engaging and relevant stories. Interresting facts, in-depth analyses and research. I could carry on and on but if you haven't got this gist by now... Oh, and there's even a bit of comedic relief most Sunday's. AAA+ stuff here.
it cuts out all the time and when it comes back on it plays the same intro for underwriters. i only use the app when i can't be near a radio. and even then i usually shut it off after a half hr or so

Stops after about 10 minutes, in middle of news. Very frustrating. No other app on my Samsung Galaxy 7 phone does this. I love WABE, and am a long time supporter, but no more donations from me until you fix this.
No longer displays images on my gallaxy 10s since latest update.
Love the content generally, but cannot understand why, after receiving an alert about a story, I am only directed to the general site. I then (often unsuccessfully)have to try to find it on my own. No fun.
Repeatedly while taking a walk, it seems that whenever my phone tries to ping nearby Wi-Fi networks, this app will abandon my mobile data, drop out the feed, and pause. But since I'm walking it doesn't manage to connect to the Wi-Fi, and so I have to manually start the feed again. Whenever I do, it runs another ad, and then somehow the pitch of all of the sounds have gone up by half an octave or something, and then there is regular high-pitched squeaking. Please fix.
