WAFB Local News

Nice idea...terrible execution. It's helpful when it opens.....and that's not often. I have to uninstal and reinstall to open once....then, do it all over over again to open again. Once inside, the stories are easy to find and laid out in an organized manner. It's beneficial to have news about our area in a convenient place. If the "bugginess" of the app gets fixed, it would be 5 stars.

If you like watching the 9 page without it ever opening you will love this app. It opens the article about 25% of the time even on wifi. I used this app several years ago and deleted it for the same reason. I will now delete it again.

There is a notification problem. I get repeat notifications, often as soon as I delete the original notification. Notification categories would be nice too.

Wish I could finish an article. Since downloading it, I have opened the app many times, just to close it before anything was displayed, because I ran out of time waiting for it to load. Very laggy. Then, when I do get the article up, I get ½ way through it, and the screen goes blank. And if it is not the #1 story, good luck finding it again. Think I'll just stick with their website. Uninstalling now.

I'm guessing there was was update recently. The icon for the app changed and the look inside is a little different but the app is empty. All I see is a white screen. The navigation pain doesn't list any information. The home page is always blank. May have to delete this app for good if this isn't corrected. I uninstalled the app and downloaded it a second time; the issue continues to persist. Ever since the update, I am unable to get any news articles through the app. No morw local news I guess.

This app needs some attention. I have my alert settings in the app set, but either I'm receiving other stuff, or WAFB has a loose interpretation of what is considered breaking news. Not only that, half the time when I open an alert, it opens my web browser (not the app) and takes me to some page to watch the news (live or rebroadcast), and the app continues to redirect me until I shut it down. Alerts should always open in the app and be tied to some article, which can include an embedded video.

Doesn't load articles at all half the time. Clicking on a notification usually doesn't bring me to the article I select. The app acts like it's loading the article and never stops. I have to close it and then reopen it to get it working. This is on a new phone, too.

The app regularly goes to a blank white screen on Android after the update. Clearing storage data in app settings fixes that for about 5 minutes of reading then it occurs again. Sometimes hitting the back button will allow you back to the home screen but it goes blank immediately upon opening an article.

This app tells the weather and news when you need it.

Half of the time when I open the app, articles then open through my web browser. That defeats the purpose of having the app. Also, I can't filter some of the "breaking news alerts"...so shots fired on Capitol Hill has the same urgency as Watch tonight at 10 as we break down this weekend's weather...or Coach O holds news conference on new football helmets! You get the picture...

For the original version of this app, I gave it 5 stars, but this new update and overhaul to the app gets 1 star. This explains why I have now reduced my rating to 3 stars. The update was advertized as being easier to use and navigate, but I find it much more challenging to find any arrticles that I may want to read. If I can go back to the former version of this app, I'll leave it installed, but since I don't think that's possible, I'm uninstalling this app. Sorry WAFB Channel 9.

The new updated app appears to be updated to allow more advertising not to improve performance. It still does not update news and weather in anywhere near a timely manner. I am now looking for a better local news app.

For a television station that has been supported by the local community for many many years, an app showing more national news than local news, especially during a hurricane recovery, is totally useless. Get rid of the ads and let us see local news. Totally useless.

WAFB is my favorite choice to get up to date information. However, when I get an alert on my phone and when I click on it to select it, it don't go through! It's very aggravating. WAFB PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND FiX IT SO YOU CAN GET 5 STARS OR I'M watching WBRZ

The latest update is awful. The original app was bad enough and I didn't think it could get worse, but I was wrong. It is difficult to navigate. There are too many ads. If you're reading an article, you can't just click the back button to go to the homepage... You need to work on this app.

This is NOT an improvement over what you had originally. SORRY!! Advertisements are everywhere, very intrusive. Stories do not consistently open. Much work to be done to improve. I hope this is being worked on.

I have tried down loading this and it will not let me. I had the app, it said to get the new version I had to delete the old one. I did that and now the new one will not load. Thank you for losing a reader of your news

News stories are often duplicated, and updates are always not timely. The app loads very slowly, and when you click on a news item a video automatically loads.

This is one of those local news station apps that auto plays videos and if you try to pause or mute the video, it actually opens the ad in another page. Trashy. WAFB you need a new app platform.

It's okay. This would be a great app if the alerts actually took you to the article or post that it was actually about. Most of the time it's an alert that I want to know about, but when you tap on it, the app takes you to something different. This app would get five stars if this was fixed. For now...it's just...okay.

Dislike the newest update . I liked this app before it auto played the video clips. I like to read my news. So annoying to go read a story and a video auto plays.

I like the app for the most part and when I 1st installed it but lately I don't get the alerts that I sat my app for I sometimes get the traffic alerts but they are not consistent and no longer get the weather alerts. I have to look at the app to see what's happening.

I received a lot of interesting updates via the app, but when I went read one of the articles or watch a video, it was not easily found. I removed the app.

Every since the app was updated, I no longer receive notifications. I checked my setting and the notifications are on.

Tha app was good until this latest update. When I open a news app I want to see the latest news not a selection of where to look for things. If I wanted to search for news I would go to google.

Old version was great. The update looks nice but won't load stories, crashes to much and harder to use. Needs fixing

Entirely too many notifications on the same subject. One notification is enough. Fix your program.

The app keeps crashing. Whoever is in charge of testing needs to be fired. It crashes every time I try to click a notification. What kind of nonsense is this?

App will not upload to my phone.

Awful. Tons of commercials. Only gives you one story after struggling through tons of commercials. Go to WAFB! MUCH BETTER
