This new application is absolutely horrible. If you can avoid using WAFD Bank, do it! Their system doesn't update when it should, it allows payments to go through, but it doesn't show on your account for DAYS. It caused my credit card accounts to close down because the amount of money I put in did not show up for some time, causing payments to bounce back and close the accounts. I'm so unbelievebly upset with this garbage excuse for a banking app. Only saving grace is their customer service.

It worked fine until the last update. Now it won't open at all. Dec 21. As of May 23, I just discovered that in the updates to the app the auto notifications in the app got disabled. Now I've bounced two checks at local businesses. Between this and the planned closing of the local branch I've about had it with this bank.

The app is clean and functional however it is frustrating that the app has to sync every single time you open the app (or go back to the app). It used to refresh in the background but now the first 10seconds of every I traction with the app is "syncing".

The app doesn't even work! I tried setting up my online banking account, but as soon as I enter my details, my phone completely freezes and I have to do a hard reset every time. Never using the app again.

Now they added a new feature called Quick Save. You could transfer funds to your savings from another account with 1 click. Tried it this morning and it worked beautifully, I planned to use it a lot. Later in the day, I went to use it again and it is gone.

The old app was better. The new app doesn't have a balance preview, you have to actually log in to see account balance. They took a step back with that feature. Then the account numbers are not displayed on the home screen, its very frustrating to have to go into the account to actually see what account it is. The old app displayed the account number on the home screen. To me, Washington Federal took a step back instead of moving forward with the app. It feels outdated.

On November 15, 2021 WaFd "upgraded" its mobile app. To me it is more of a downgrade. Before I could configure the app so that I would receive a notification whenever there was a debit or credit transaction my checking and savings accounts. Now I have to log in and out of the app to receive a notification. This defeats the purpose of a notification. I contacted WaFd technical support but as of this date the issue remains unresolved.

App is very easy to navigate and to use to keep track of expenses. My only concern is not being able to pin point the origin of some charges of where they came from if i ever decide to backtrack automated transactions. I'd like to add that sometimes when I open the app it is completely unresponsive. I won't allow me to scroll, pan, or press anything at times and I cannot get any information pulled up because nothing is opening up when I press it. I hope this gets fixed.

Reliability is the biggest issue with this app. When it works it's a fine app. It's very minimal in it's design, intuitive and streamlined. After an update that apparently renders the website incompatible with Google chrome (still unresolved) and an app that stops working fairly regularly, and only one physical branch in the city, controlling my funds when I need to is becoming a gambit.

November 2021 UPDATE Finally works again, but the app is now even a worse experience. Removed features, tonnes of wasted space and fluff. WaFed went to great lengths to make sure it wasn't like a computer experience. That's 100% the WRONG direction. The new app is all fluff, giant text and icons, so little actual useful content shown on the screen at once, and the complete redo of the account/password was unwelcome. This is a much worse app than ever. Looking forward to dumping WaFed soon.

This app rarely works anymore. Everytime I try to open the app it tells me there is an error. Then two seconds later it lets me login to my bank just fine. Then I use it the next day and it still does the same thing. It constantly crashes, freezes, and simply displays an error every time I try to use it. I do my banking 100% online and if this is how its going to go I think I'm switching banks. Terrible consistency.

1 of the best online banking apps, i have had. You can set it up, using either password security or your phones biometric security, if you have issues with passwords. able to see deposits & withdraws in almost real time. in regards to deposits, you no longer have to go to the bank, you can snap a photo of the check and it done through you phone.

If you use online banking or a need access online easily this is not the bank for you. In just the short year I've been with them getting into my account has constantly been a challenge. Changes to password protocols without notice, updated software that requires you to reset your account, terrible mobile application.....I mean their phone system is terrible and sometimes they can't even speak to you to help. I'm moving!

This USED to be my primary way of checking my account but for the past 6 months or more I can't access it. Whenever I try it gives me an error message and says to contact them. I did so multiple times, got no answers except their scripted ones that tell you nothing and are no help. I've uninstalled and re-installed this app several times and NOTHING works. This is absolutely ridiculous that it's been this long and a known problem, affecting multiple people has gone unfixed. 0 stars.

I didn't get any notice of any kind that the latest update would require reestablishing access. Also, the new interface is ugly. Worse, it won't go to portrait mode when I rotate my phone. It's still usable, but is a backward step. Maybe WF ought to actually test updates before rolling them out. Just a thought.

EDIT: So something I've found since I'm using Android version 8.0 on a LGv20 international model. The solution to "UNTICK Install Unknown Sources" doesn't work with 8.0 it only applies to 7.X versions. With Android 8.0 Google got rid of the checking or unchecking a box and changed it to a special menu in APPS & NOTIFICATIONS either in SPECIAL ACCESS or top right in the menu if your using the latest Samsung 9. It works similar to app permissions were you have to individually enable or disable, problem with this is on Android 8.0 you don't have a ON-OFF switch. This falls on the dev team. Congrats and huzzah for job security! :D REVIEW: And I'm locked out, and the call center is closed, fantastic great user experience. If your app is not opening try uninstalling it then reinstalling. You have to use your username then use the last 6 digits of your SSN. Turns out they rebuilt the entire thing, you'd figure they would make a bigger effort in making a lot of noise or a notification in the app once you've opened it. What a garbage app.

So now that I have used the app some, it works relatively well but a lot of times it doesn't seem to want to load sometimes all day or night. Today being one of those times it won't recognize my password. I also miss how it used to keep the balance after each transaction. It seems to change and you can't really tell. Most banking and credit card apps have this.

Very frustrating...when I setup this account I told the teller the ONLY issue I saw online with WaFd was the app. She assured me it was fine. And when I downloaded it and tried to use it I got the same thing everyone else mentions. It pops up an error and won't even let me past the title screen. Honestly my prepaid Walmart has a better mobile app which is embarrassing. Also over 7yrs with that card I had 1 issue ever and it was fixed immediately. Not a great start WaFd.

I am very unhappy with the app itself. You get the option to get notifications but you never get them. You have to log in to see any activity. Most times it will not recognize your password so you have to find a Computer to log into your account. I also dislike that they removed the instant wallet. This app is not user friendly and has made it more of a hassel.

Normal for most of their online apps, takes 2 or 3 tries before they get it right. Table worked fine prior to update, now fails to open wants to close or send feedback. Absolute junk, gets worst as they update. Can no longer make mobile deposit, crashes when the camera opens. Have tried on 3 different devices, not work. Why offer an app if it can't be used? Almost 2 months since last update and still unusable.

So terrible that they have to keep deleting my review. Would be a lot better if I didn't have to turn off the auto camera every time, especially in the same use, which takes the picture too quickly; plus it only uses auto when flash is on. Idiots! Too many bugs in this app.
