Many people seem to have problems with the app. I'm not one of them. I've had 3 different Kickr trainers and all have connected fine, updated firmware, done spindowns, etc. My Climb connects fine with no issues. Pretty happy with Wahoo products. Ive had good and bad experiences with customer service. Overall, very happy.
Have had problems with this app from the beginning. Now it has ruined my kickr permanently due to a failed firmware update. I don't understand why wahoo won't just make a desktop version. Laptops and desktops are way better at handling this type of stuff, not to mention troubleshooting any issues. Wahoo looking into warranty/replacement for my kickr though so customer service seems OK.
Connects but fails firmware upgrade and spin down every time. I've reinstalled the app multiple times and followed all the troubleshooting steps to no avail. Extremely disapointed by Wahoo. Update: Borrowed a friend's iPhone to do the firmware update and that worked fine. At least now I can do spin down calibrations from the Android app after the firmware upgrade from the iOS app. What a joke.
Software doesn't work for Spin Down and Firmware Updates, at least not for Pixel 2 Android devices due to a known software bug. I've been advised to use an iOS device in the meantime to update my firmware. I don't have one. Update - After waiting well over a month i still cannot do a spin down or firmware update using my Pixel. I dont have access to any other devices. My watts are way off and i cant do a factory spin down.
Similar to others having swapped back to Android from iOS I've found that the Wahoo Utility and Wahoo Fitness apps do not "see" my Kickr even though the phone can see it in the Bluetooth devices list. This means I cannot do firmware updates or even a spindown on the device. App cache cleared, app reinstalled, Bluetooth restarted, phone restarted.
Prety dismal experience. (Running on Samsung S3 as a dedicated bike computer). Does see devices with varying degrees of responsiveness. Takes a very long time to report firmware version. No obvious check or confirm if its up to date. Not impressed at all really.
Terrible application. Have a kickr snap V2. App finds the device and can read the info coming from it. As soon as I attempt a spin down, the spin down fails almost immediately. Have tried reinstalling the app but no better. The only spin down I can perform is on Zwift.
Terribly inconsistent app for a brand that is supposed help motivate people with consistency. Spin down calibration is hot trash 1 out of every 10 times it completes, if at all. Very disappointed in the money ive spent on the kickr and all the troubleshooting time I've wasted.
Barely functional app. It has difficulty connecting to my Kickr, frequently fails to conduct spin down, and requires frequent reinstalls. But if you don't do spin down calibration the speed sensor, the speed drifts so far from my other sensors that it becomes unusable.
Not fit for purpose - the Android version of this app struggles to do firmware updates or spin ups and spin downs. In fact, you pretty much need an apple device in order to get either one of those functions working.
Pretty poor and desperately needs an update. Unable to connect with Kickr via ant+ just crashes every time. Will connect via Bluetooth but no use as soon down won't complete. Completely useless at the moment.
Firmware update and spin down test on a brand new KICKR Core fail. Tried multiple times, uninstalled, reinstalled and followed all there troubshooting and no difference. Not impressed at all. Time to open a ticket with support.
Developer of the Android version should change profession. Firmware updates persistently failed using Pixel 2 Android, latest OS updates. Gave up and tried my wife's ipad which worked, a small win for IOS dev. The IOS version seems to go a through a well defined process of checks and balances which gave a good feeling and successful result. To be fair my android phone is connected to everything (i did disable) which may have confused things, but software should cope and report meaningful info
useless all it displayed was the firmware version. it couldn't display heart bpm. so what did it do? Nothing. if there was a problem it should have displayed an error code, or anything that was helpful. it didn't.
Confused - I bought a Tickr 4 years ago and stopped using when my son was born. Started using it again now and the Tickr works fine and thought I'd use Wahoo Utility to see if there is any software updates. I found my device but then doesn't let me do anything . can't click on it. just nothing happens. I don't understand the purpose of this app. All it does it tell me that I'm connected to the device.
If you have a Pixel 2, you are out of luck at updating your firmware on a KICKR CORE. I tried an old Nexus 9 and had no luck either. Thankfully I have an old Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 around that happen to work. Not everyone has an iPhone and I have read about countless problems about updating firmware with Android phones. If Wahoo spent even a fraction of the time on this app that it does making some seriously great products then they would have a decent app.
The app crashes every time I try to connect to my KICKR Snap over ANT+. There does not appear to be any way to troubleshoot or update my device until this bug is fixed
Yes, it finds the Kickr, Tickr and Headwind. That's it. Firmware updates fail for one year now and the spindown, guess what? Doesn't work either. Pretty sure your Android development team is smoking bad stuff.
I installed this app to fix my 3 bluetooth bike sensors. They used to connect just fine to the Wahoo Fitness app. The 3 sensors aren't connecting to my Android Samsung. The sensors still won't connect to Wahoo Fitness. Hopefully Wahoo will return my emails.
Suppose to use this app to calibrate the kikr, but the spin down doesnt work always shows fails. Typical wahoo product... kikr always loses connection too. Too bad computrainer is out of business. It was a pain to start the first time, but sfter that it was a breeze. Not like wahoo.
A wahoo app that doesnt actually function on a wahoo kickr. Will not complete a spindown. Crashes everytime. It also takes a while to connect to the trainer. Wahoo great company but invest in your applications.
Did work well back in the day. I believe this utility app has been replaced by Wahoo. Wahoo fitness app is, I think, a training and update/utility app all in one. Hence why no update since 2018 for Wahoo Utility.
I've own this over a year and I still can not perform an accurate spin down. It's literally impossible to ride this trainer without being able to perform a spindow. Do not purchase. Such a waste of time AND MONEY!
Used to work. Stopped working buffering during firmware update I have hardware that's useless now may as well throw in the bin? Wahoo can use any other apps to work ? Anyone had similar but got RFLKT working?
Just bought a new kickr 18. Installed this app as per instructions, the firmware needed to be updated so did an update. Firmware completed the update. Then somehow the app said my firmware did not complete it reduced my firmware to 0.0.0 version so i tried to update it again. Same problem cant update it. Spent so much money on the kickr did not even get to ride it. Freaking out now have i lost my money?. Will take it back to the shop tomorrow going to be a long restless night. Very bad experience time buyer, i was supposed to buy a tacx but the new kickr 18 was silent. Saved for a year to buy it. Very very sad and stressed
Spindown always fails. Cannot update firmware on my Kickr 2018. The option is not available, even though I have checked and confirmed on the release notes
Unlike most others, I had no problems with this app on my Samsung Galaxy S 9+. My Kickr Snap and Climb were discovered, and all my sensors were paired. So far, so good.
I'm having problems using it. I keep trying to perform a spin down and it just won't complete the process at the end. I've gone through all the trouble shooting they recommend. Hopefully customer service gets back to me someday because it's super annoying to miss a workout after spending hundreds on their bike trainer.
