Works great, with an intuitive interface. FYI for other users, initially when testing the app internally on my LAN, the message wasn't being received by the target machine. This was due to my phone sending the messages through my cell network, instead of to my WiFi, because I had set my WiFi Calling to "Cellular Preferred". This can be resolved by activating airplane mode and then turning-on WiFi, or by setting WiFi Calling to "WiFi Preferred". This is probably obvious to most people but initially misled me into thinking my PC config was incorrect. Another FYI, is that 2 different machines of mine had the default MS-installed driver for the "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" which prevented WOL from working. This was solved by downloading the latest driver directly from Realtek.
Happy customer here. It works flawlessly and always worked; I've been testing it for over several months, always to wake up completely powered off home server, so I don't have to walk down the stairs all the time or keep it always on. I especially like the network device scanner, it found my server and its MAC address automatically and its network name; no need to enter it anything manually.
When using this for WoW-LAN it seems to work fine when waking from sleep mode but, as expected, it does not work when waking from s4 (hibernate) or s5 (soft-off) states, even though my motherboard supports WoL on s5 (although I've heard that Windows no longer supports WoL on s4/s5 anyway). I haven't tried it with a wired connection because my router is downstairs and I cba moving it. It probably wouldn't work anyway thanks to Windows being Windows.
This is a very simples, but very useful app. It lets you set different machines and IPs, so you can use Wake On Lan features, i.e., booting computers or laptops in the same network you are connected to. It also has advanced options for those who want to Undertaker more complexo routes. It is lightweight and I haven't had any problems while using It so far.
I love this app. It's super practical and overall makes my life easier. If I had to change one thing that would make it even more comfortable, it would be to add a possibility for the pc to be woken the second the app is opened.
Earlier I gave this app only 2 stars due to inconsistent work. But as it turned out I must put broadcast address .255 and now it works all the time. If anyone encountered above issue and your interface is configured with WOL and OS has it enabled do check broadcast option. Thank you developer.
Seems to be a bug that this sends the WoL magic packet to all the PCs that are setup on the app as soon as I open the app. Even worse when i use the widget on the home screen as it basically just constantly wakes up my computers without me interacting with the app at all. I suspect its sending some sort status request on the IPs which seems to be initiating the WoL magic packet? Tested other apps and none of them have this issue but I really like the widget from this app I hope you can fix this
I had a weird issue where upon opening the application, it immediately wakes my computer before I even click anything. This was not desired but I could not figure out why or how to stop the app from doing this. I only have one computer to wake so it's not a large issue but seems like a bug.
A good app. I didn't manage to get this app to work HOWEVER after installing it, i realised that i need an ethernet cable connecting your modem and your computer (i got rid of all mine ages ago). I didn't notice anywhere it actually tells you that but thinking about it, a computer/laptop can't accept a signal remotely, it is the modem that receives the signal and sends power through the cable.
Perfect little App that does one thing but one thing really well. No gimmicks. Just works. Auto-discovery is a nice touch. I love the ability to create one background icons for specific Machines.
Worked first time. Put hyphens in between each 2 chars of MAC address. I dont know why port 9 is needed, but leave it there. I tried a different app prior, PC Wake, and never could get it to work. Be aware that certain old Windows computers might need RemoteRegistry to be running on the computer, for WOL to function.
No ads, no IAP, no fuss, no worries. Android at it's best. I use this app to wake the TV PC so I can VNC to it using RealVNC Client, another superb app for which this is a perfect complement.
Does exactly as advertised. No ads!! Using on home network without problems. It can't "see" or find devices that don't have a name. Router can show all devices connected, so you might have to manually add a device in.
Dose not work all the time. NOTE TO DEV. I Will change my review in time. Issue happend when I was swaping Ram, so downloaded your app when PC was off at power supply. So when power is restored a WOL packet will FAIL UNTIL the system is fully booted and shut down. Power must exist from power supply to motherboard or it fails, must be stored settings on the network card. Initial manual power up and shut down is required. Must issue a notice to user.
Works very well after I figured out how to set up. Using the app's ADD button only configures to work in my LAN. It won't work over the Internet. However by entering the external ip address of my pc in place of the 192.168.1.255 I got it to work over the Internet. I don't need to have the magic packet be broadcast as I only have 1 pc on my network. The others are all android devices. Just a minor suggestion. Would be good if the app will only say DEVICE WOKEN if the device had actually awoke.
Please, add an option to send multiple wol packets (like youtube cast wol does), some devices don't catch every packet, so I need to press the button several times. Actually this might be the default behavior, since additional packets will not hurt devices anyway.
Can't complain It's ad-less. It's bloat-free. It does what it does. I've been using this for almost a year until recently I need a more powerful network debugging tool and it also has WoL built-in. If I ever live again I will definitely download your app again. Thanks for your contribution, author.
Used to work flawlessly, however it seems to have stopped working. No changes to my networking/machines. It now doesn't find any devices & can't wake up a device its woken many times before. Tried airplane mode as per an older review, still doesn't work.
I am a Plex user and wanted an android app that could wake up my Plex server from the internet, where my Plex server sits behind 2 routers. Had already addressed the "double NAT" issue setting up Plex. Took several tries to get this to work with the app. You have to enable the wake up on lan features on your network card in windows. And in your sever bios. My bios had a setting under Advanced - Advanced power mgmt -power on by PCIE/PCI. That was key. Then the app worked with default setup when connected to the wifi router only. To get it to work from Internet had to change the BROADCAST IP in the App to be the PUBLIC IP address of the server, which you can find by googling "what is my public IP". You will have to set your server up with a STATIC assigned local IP address from your router, so it doesn't change. then you will need to set PORT FORWARD rules for port 9 from the initial router in your home to any subsequent router IP addresses you have down to your servers router, and on that forward port 9 to your static server IP. The forward rules need to be UDP, or both TCP and UDP. My routers defaulted to TCP rules, and that did not work. Needed the rules to be UDP.
Its great, i literally wake up and start WOL then by the time im back from the toilet (in the morning) my laptop would have already been on With that said heres a feature i thought of just now: WOL on time feature Example: one of your devices (or all depending if you have it set in a group) Turn on at exactly 9:55 am or whatever time you want WOL to start the device(s) Or you want to start the device(s) in 15 min or 10 minutes
This is a wonderful piece of work. It works flawlessly and has features no other WOL app has and is ad-free. The interface is customizable and attractive. I sent the Dev a donation -- and if you use the app, you should too.
Very good app. The scanning feature is especially useful for me. The only problem I have is that the widget to wake my PC does not actually wake it; going into the app does, but for some reason, the widget won't work.
This app is awesome and practical to me. What's missing in it is to use a time schedule to control when the computer should wake up. I know how to develop Android programs. I am willing to do it for free If you give me the source code to add the Alarm Manager class/object to schedule the Wake on lan. Thanks. I think it will take one week to add the schedule feature. Add the schedule for individual computers and also the group of computers. I just revi
useless. it only shows which devices are up and which are down. tapping on them pops up "the device is woken" but in fact it is still off. I think it des send the magic packet but fails to prepare a correct feedback according to the situation. In my case, for example, it should have said " can't wake up the device" while the red indicator shows the device is still off, it wrongly issues the message " device woken"
excellent WOL app. allows for putting devices into groups and waking an entire group at once. customization of the status check to determine if a device is active. widget can be created for a single device or group. best of all, it integrates perfectly with Tasker for IFTTT support.
brilliantly straightfoward app. intuitive and does everything i could want with ease. The hardest part is getting your machine to wake and that's more to do with the os perfect app.
Just installed this today, first impressions is it's one of the best. I really like that it scans for nearby devices so I don't have to type Mac addresses. Would be nice an iPhone version was available.
Scan devices doesn't work properly, I have 40+ devices on the lan, but it can only find 5 of them. Tried slow mode as well, no improvement. Also needs progress bar to indicate scanning.
This app is great. Does everything that I need. Using port forwarding on my router I was able to turn on my PC via this app remotely (outside my network). But please, could you make at least a confirmation like "do you really want to turn on this pc?". Many times I've woken up my PC by accidentally clicking it, it's not really fun when you're far from home and have to RDP to the PC to shut it off...
