Ever wondered why your smartphone screen does not turn off automatically when it should have, the screen wakes up all of a sudden or you find your phone battery drained even when you exited apps and turned off the screen? This might be due to wakelock holding apps. ”Wakelock Detector” helps you to detect battery draining apps in your Android phone by checking wakelock usage history. Now you can easily find out what keep your phone awake and drain your battery when it is idle!
“Wakelock” is a mechanism of power management service in Android OS, which can be used to keep CPU awake (Partial wakelock) and keep the screen on(Full wakelock). Applications which use wakelock privilege improperly leads to situations where the CPU or phone screen stays active without user's knowledge and thus causing dramatic battery drain.
“Wakelock Detector” shows wakelock usage statistics for all applications, which ever held wakelock since boot. By default it displays CPU wakelocks sorting by the longest usage time. Further, you can choose Screen wakelock type to see screen related wakelocks. For instance, if your screen is keeping on even after screen timeout or your screen turns on randomly by itself, then you can choose Screen wakelock type on the top (Brightness icon) to see which apps are using screen wakelock. Furthermore, if you are interested in currently running applications then you can change sorting type to "Active" which shows active running applications on the top. Tested and working on Essential phone PH-1 Pie(9.x). TIP: if it says it's made it a system app then errors when trying to get battery stats, it REQUIRES FULL CHARGE and REBOOT, post setup.
Paid for full version. Doesn't seem to do anything. provides no info. Occasionally fails to even start. Says, try again later. I have Android 5.1.
Terrible. Install as a system app on a rooted phone fails, despite the app being granted root access. Therefore, useless. Refund requested
Security patch lvl sec 1st on s9+ 9.0 pie will not work. It displays "Failed to perform this task at the moment, try again later " worked on Nov sec patch
I have magisk, free version didn't work paid version crashes constantly
Didn't work for rooted Pixel 2XL w/Carbon ROM.
It didn't say my phone needs to be rooted before I bought it. Now I have wasted my money.

(Non-Rooted) With the Chrome Store app workaround, identified an application that has been draining my battery that no other similar apps were able to. Would like to see the description updated to include a note about the workaround - I almost stuck with the free version despite wanting to support dev because the free versions mention the workaround but this one doesn't.
(March 2016) First of all, your phone needs Root! I'm running Lollipop ROM 5.1.1 "BlissPop" on my LG G3 for over a week now with no problems. Update: Working flawlessly on LG G3 Android 6.0. Well worth the Purchase to support the Developers. (Sept 2017) Update I can't see any apps or progress when running WWD, phone is Samsung S7 rooted running nugget. Installed on system and still had same issue, I checked on the XDA forum and noticed a lot of other people are having the same issue. Will uninstall and what for next update.(Oct 2017) Found a Rom that Walkelock Detector works great with, I don't even need to make it a system app. It's called stang5litre 5.0 Edition S7 Edge N, this Rom is amazing.
It works here and there. The feature of showing statistics since unplug doesn't work. Have to reboot device in order to get clear results.
App crashes when trying to install as system app. I am rooted.
Using non rooted xperia Xz and Windows 10. The link from chrome works but the minimal USB file fails to install. Google minimal online for a file and managed to install it. Once started the wld unlocker app on chrome, the chrome still fails to detect devices, just kill server and restart and my device was detected. Actually emailed developer for support but no reply at all, had to canvass the forum and other reviews for more input. But really, it does work on non rooted phone.

Can't get the phone to be detected even after installing the drivers on my windows laptop. Bought the paid version on impulse before to realize that it would not work unless I root my phone, which I am not prepared to do as I am new to Android and not ready to take risks with this brand new LGG5. If someone can help me making it work I'd appreciate very much as my battery seems to drain overnight.

Either app doesn't work or there are missing steps in the instructions. App on PC does not see any phone even with drivers installed.
Free version works fine but full version not working. Please solve this. It's a good app.

Got this app to help with battery consumption on Galaxy s4 on kitkat...after getting it found it doesnt work with my os. Then get hangout message from someone afilliated with the app telling me not to leave a bad review because Im dumb.....way to go to get a poor rating.
Does not work with Asus memo pad HD7 ME176CX! Android 5.0
Used to work well on KK 4.4.2, not working on LP 5.0.2. It has root access but it seems it doesn't recognize it. After the last update it is working on LP 5.0.2. Great support from the developer.
If you have Oreo or higher, don't waste your time and money. It is hit and miss on various ROMs. In my case, the app doesn't show CPU wakelocks, install as a system app fails, the XDA Developer thread has been inactive for more than 12 months and the developers website doesn't exist. Refund request has been submitted.
