Really unhelpful app that takes ages to do anything. To be helpful a trail app needs to be able to quickly show where you are on the path on a scale suitable for navigation. Ideally accommodation, cafes, and places to get water are marked as well as historic sites. I would guess it was not written by a long distance walker.
I appreciate the effort that must have gone into this but its far too media heavy, is huge (600mb+) and seriously lags while using. How about a streamlined interactive map of our fantastic coastal path with links to accommodation, activities, attractions, and with suggested mileages and route guides etc? This app could work as a website but seriously lags on a phone and doesn't provide any of the info that people who want to walk the coast want.
Really atrocious. Clearly not made by a long distance walker, nor any sort of walker as far as I can see. Why create a media heavy app that uses up large amounts of space and battery but which utterly fails in giving any of the information that might benefit even the most basic day-hiker? Gives zero information for campsites, accomodation, shops, water points, transport. The 'map' has no scale and lags. I'm not at all sure what the point is on this. Just get the Hiiker map instead.
Awful app. It needs to be more interactive where I can plot a route along the path and it gives me time to walk and distance (even gradients if they have time) and guidance as the path route is not always 100% clear. They need to try again.
All fur coat and no knickers as my ol' ma would say. It looks flash but there is no substance. Too long to load, too slow, bare info in the app. Please partner with a professional walking/mapping company to develop this and ask the marketing department to stay away. App - uninstalled within 10 minutes. (you should seriously consider removing this app, in it's current state it's more of an embarrasment to Wales tourism than a help).
Waste of time. Has features you don't want but none of the ones you do. This should be a way to easily follow the coast path - it's not.
Takes ages to download the massive app and then once downloaded you have to download again to get the augmented reality. Not worth the wait.
app lags .. difficult to navigate (and I'm good with tech stuff).. great idea though...
Not quick enough and certainly hard to place yourself in advance to see what to expect
Dreadful. Dont think that they have ever asked anyone what they would like to see in the app. Can't log off either.
Extremely slow not very responsive
Worst app I have ever used.all I wanted was coastal map
I'd be embarrassed as an organisation to release such a poor app. Terrible.
Bit of fun
It certainly wasn't what I'd expected (which might have been perhaps a location-specific text guide, with snippets about what can be seen from various sections of the path), but I did find very useful the feature which superimposes the phone's location on a line depicting the path on a satellite image of the surroundings - in fact, without this I might have got embarrassingly lost. However, it would have been better if the overlay had been a map. There are many typos in the Welsh version.
